About this mod

An addition for AI Overhaul SSE SPID Patch, converting certain AI Overhaul SSE changes into SkyPatcher, reducing the need for even more patches.

I love AI Overhaul SSE. It makes the world feel more lively, more lived in. However, it comes at a cost of multiple patches needed between other mods that modifies base and DLC NPCs, mostly being replacers.
That's where AI Overhaul SSE SPID Patch comes into play. It takes advantage of Spell Item Perk Distribution mod, applying various packages AI Overhaul SSE adds through SPID instead, absolving many incompatibilities. But there are still incompatibilities.

And then there's me, bored, decided to see what SkyPatcher can do to absolve even more incompatibilities. So I looked up at what NPCs can be reduced even more with the use of SkyPatcher, hence, this mod.

This mod, in combination with the aforementioned SPID Patch, manages to reduce a LOT of NPCs that requires patching. That being said, other AI Overhaul SSE patches that's related to town overhauls and the like, you still probably needs them.

Requirements:

I also included a modified plugin that replaces AI Overhaul.esp. It removes 358 + 1 (if you're using AE version) NPC records that's fully patched and any packages, factions, items, flags, stat changes and AI Data from the rest of 65 NPCs that's patched by both the SPID Patch and this SkyPatcher Patch.
Make sure to choose the correct replacer plugin for whatever version you use, be it AE Upgrade if you bought it, or SE if you didn't, and whether the normal version or the Scripted BETA version.

===============================================

Now, for some numbers and elaboration:

AI Overhaul SSE covers exactly 423 base & DLC NPCs, plus 1 NPC from Fishing CC (if you use AI Overhaul SSE AE version)

  • 395 Skyrim.esm NPCs
  • 1 Dawnguard.esm NPC
  • 1 HearthFires.esm NPC
  • 26 Dragonborn.esm NPCs
  • 1 ccbgssse001-fish.esm NPC

With the SPID Patch, 150 NPCs doesn't need to be patched; all the relevant packages, including USSEP-forwarded and AI Overhaul SSE ones are added through SPID. With the help of SkyPatcher, another 209 NPCs doesn't need to be patched, adding various miscellaneous changes such as Protected / Essential flags, changing skill stats, distributing items*, and AI Data modification, making for a total of 358 + 1 (if you're using AE) NPCs not needing patches.

To be more specific, records forwarded by the SPID Patch and my SkyPatcher Patch includes:
  • (SPID) SNAM - Faction
  • (SPID) SPOR - Spectator Override Package List
  • (SPID) ECOR - Combat Override Package List
  • (SPID) PKID - Package (new Packages; Package removal is done through the Synthesis Patcher instead)
  • (SkyPatcher) Flags (Protected, Essential, Unique)
  • (SkyPatcher) Template Flags (Removal, only for a single NPC from Fishing CC)
  • (SkyPatcher) Item Distribution*
  • (SkyPatcher) DNAM - Player Skills (Magicka stat change, Skills stat change)
  • (SkyPatcher) AI Data - Aggression
  • (SkyPatcher) AI Data - Confidence
  • (SkyPatcher) AI Data - Assistance
  • (SkyPatcher) Spell Distribution
*Yes, SPID can also distribute items, but with SkyPatcher, there is a certain operation that allows the item to be added, ONLY if the NPC has YET to have it in its inventory. Some of items patched are USSEP-forwarded. If a user doesn't use any USSEP patches for whatever reason, then SkyPatcher will distribute relevant items. But if a user does use USSEP patches, then the items are distributed normally, SkyPatcher detects it, and it won't distribute the same item again.

Now, having SPIDified and SkyPatched all of these NPCs, there's now only 65 NPCs that requires patching, most of which because of package removal. You can use AI Overhaul SSE - Synthesis Patcher for that. Read this to learn how to use it. I've forked Excinerus' AI-Overhaul-Patcher with some personal changes, specific for use with this SkyPatcher mod. You can read more about it here. Download the .synth file in the Optional Files. Read this to learn how to open / launch .synth files.
Run the Synthesis Patcher once; no need for manual patches (anymore).

Also, on the AI Overhaul Patcher settings, I recommend ticking Merge Items off if you use mods that replaces vanilla distribution with its own distribution (i.e. Tamrielic Distribution).

Note: With the SPID Patch, SkyPatcher Patch and the Synthesis Patcher, you will not need other NPC patches for AI Overhaul SSE, but for anything else (i.e. town overhauls and such), you will most definitely need it.

Here's some AI Overhaul SSE Patches I personally still use:
