About this mod
Patches 'Stay in Shape' by JaySerpa and 'Pumping Iron' by Gopher to immersively use 'Exercise' by tjhm4 to grow your muscles. Works very well with Static Skill Levelling mods that modify skill rates and therefore mess with vanilla Pumping Iron gainzz

Stay In Shape is yet ANOTHER classic (could be said about literally everything JaySerpa does). This mod extended Pumping Iron so that you can hit up gym-bros to get tips on staying swole and learn to do push-ups to maintain swoleness. With the added twist that you can also lose your precious gains if you just sat around not training (and eating all the sweetrolls, probably!).
HOWEVER - Both PI and SIS had increases in skills (light armor, heavy armor, one-handed, two-handed, block, smithing and marksman) as the basic way you "trained", which then turned into weight gain when you slept.
I found this less than ideal - specifically because I also use Static Skill Levelling Rewritten, which means you do NOT increase your skills with use. This means SIS and PI would do NOTHING for me. Unimmersive and sad!
Then tjhm4 came up with Exercise - Incremental Growth. As you drain your stamina (and health and magicka, but that's irrelevant here), you get tired. Which reduces your stamina pool. BUT THEN, you INCREASE your stamina stat when you sleep and recover. Which is actually how the 'adaptive response' to exercise makes you swole through exercise in the real world. Immersion levels to the stratosphere! Another mod that will never leave my load order!
What this patch does is use the stamina growth mechanism from Exercise, and makes it the basis for training in Pumping Iron / Staying in Shape. So as you sprint around and power attack, get more exhausted and otherwise reduce your stamina, you increase your training level and when you sleep, you gain weight! ALL THE IMMERSION!
Requirements:
Load Order:

Mod order (left pane in MO2) should also have the above load order. The scripts in my mod should overwrite Stay in Shape and Pumping Iron
Other Instructions:
This mod does nothing until you get the 'Staying in Shape' power from one of the gym-bros. Who are the gym-bros? Stenvar (the hireling in Windhelm), Ulfberth (Adrianne's husband), Solaf (Shopkeeper in Falkreath), Benor (Warrior in Morthal), Ahtar (Headsman in Solitude), and Balimund (Smith in Riften).
Your rate of stamina depletion and stamina growth (from th Exercise MCM) will determine how fast or slow you get swole!
Incompatibilities:
Damned if I know! I imagine mods that are incompatible with Stay in Shape and Exercise would also be incompatible here. These would be:
- Sandow plus plus - does the same things as Pumping Iron and Stay in Shape
- Incremental Gains - does similar things as Exercise
The Exercise comments page also notes that it doesn't play too well with Valhalla Combat's stamina management - turn that mods' stamina management off in the MCM if you are using it.
Exercise also has a patch on it's page for Geometric Stat Growth. I haven't installed it yet, but I would assume it's incompatible. I just turn off Stamina growth with Skill Uncapper. Let me know in the comments if a GSG patch would be of interest.
Other mods that affect your stamina are likely to impact this patch, but I don't use any so can't tell you anything useful there.
If you find any other incompatibilities, let me know in the comments.
Pairs Well With:(note these are suggested, NOT required)
- Static Skill Levelling Rewritten
- Significance of Strength
- Skill Uncapper (to turn off stamina growth on level up)
