I have a little problem, the flipping pages animation keeps playing even after I learned the spell I was reading (I use ISL - Dest). I have tried spamming the jump button (sometimes it resets some animations), sitting again, and using the Immersive Interactions emergency button (that stops animations). Still my character keeps on flipping pages of an imaginary book, I can even attack or use spells but my arms and hands are still stuck in flipping pages (it's very clunky lol)
The only fix I found is reading another spell book and canceling after, but not every time I have another spell in hand for that. I don't really know what to do ^^" is there another fix?
Well, it's ok. Not a major issue, I just have to pay attention when to stop reading. Maybe it's because I use the manual stop mode from the reading mod, idk... it's still great ^^
Tl;Dr: Use Timed Session mode from ISL-Dest to prevent animation glitches.
Just a little context beforehand. From my testing, the Immersive Learning Spells - DEST has two modes: Timed Sessions and Manual Stop. The former lets you choose how many hours to study, the reading animation plays, the screen fades to black, time passes, screen fades in again and then the reading animation stops. The latter you just start reading on the spot and can do many things you could do normally while idling (which is the main reason I use this mod over others honestly), such as chatting with NPCs and followers (unlocking their backstories, gathering quests), using Your Market Stall mod, and whatever. Meanwhile, from time to time, the mod updates on how much % you have learned from the spell at that point, so you never really know how much it is until you learn the spell because of many toggleable factors of the mod itself, like multipliers, how much skill you have on that spell's school, how much magicka you have, if you're sitting, if you're in the college... This doubt never really bothered me because I use that time reading as a "hobby" while the world keeps moving around my character, hearing Npc conversations and such. Ok, back to the reading animation... the Manual Stop mode doesn't really make you stop reading at the exact time you learn the spell, so if your update says you're at 99%, you'll only stop the reading animation at the next update saying you've learned the spell. Without this mod, the reading animation stops normally when you get the update message, but if using this mod and reading while sitting/laying anywhere, using the Manual Stop mode, the animation keeps playing even after you stand up. You're able to attack, use spells, carry torches, do whatever with your character and they'll keep flipping pages from an imaginary book. Some fixes I found on the spot for this is to start reading another spell book and stopping right after, so the animation triggers and cancels, or reading a skill book, since it also fades screen to black and has a time to stop the reading animation, or just using the Timed Session mode. The latter solution kinda 'unalives' the vibes of the Learning spell mod to me because of the reasons I've already mentioned, but it doesn't make the reading animation from your mod a bad combination. It just needs a little more attention to some details not to get stuck on the animation loop and I must say it helps a huuuge lot with immersion whenever I use (and my playthroughs are 95% mage lol). The best combination so far has got to be with Go to Bed, so my character can read while laying down on a bedroll or normal bed ^-^ Sorry for the long post, I wanted to make it as detailed as possible (kinda overselling the learning spell mod over yours, but... well, can't do one without the other). I hope it's useful for someone out there!
That's it! Now they don't endlessly flip the pages, and the animation ends correctly after the spell is learned. Thank you so much for this update, you're the best ^^
What mod allows you to sit down on the ground? It doesn't seem to work after reading a tome while sitting down using Immersive Interactions, and I'm not sure if it is supposed to. I'm using Immersive Spell Learning Destified with the manual stop mode.
Aye, I did all of that, albeit with Pandora instead of Nemesis. Installed the Offset Animation requirement, ISL Dest Beta, this mod (with the ISL Beta option picked in the FOMOD), then ran Pandora. I tried re-running Pandora but it didn't work.
I tried using it with the Spell Learning Restriction mod and it works fine. Ah well, I'm just glad it works. I think I prefer this one over Immersive Spell Learning anyways.
Anyways thanks for making the mod and answering my comments. Such a nice touch of immersion that this adds.
Using Immersive Interactions makes it so reading a book from inventory triggers a reading animation when standing or sitting in a regular chair (requires Skyrim Souls). Could you tackle that one?
So, the animation is changed but you still can't learn spells unless you are standing up -- so, not while sitting or on horseback or whatehaveyou. Oh well. Options.
Good news - you successfully removed the restriction!
Bad news - the spell learning animation triggers a lot, but reading a book only happens when standing up. Also, the spell learning process is glitched now.
Requirements: check. Re-ran Nemesis again; this time also re-ran FNIS for good measure (yeah I use both). Reading animation still only happens when standing, though the spell learning itself happens regardless of position.
Not sure what the conflict would be -- only mod I have that directly interacts with book reading animation is Various Player Actions but somehow I doubt that conflicts. [edit: i have one other mod that directly interacts with reading anims is immersive interactions ...i'm sure there are no other mods in my list that do such things].
Oh well, I'm still thankful for and impressed by your hard work!
Sitting animation requires Offset Movement Animations and Open Animation Replacer. If it's not playing, then something's wrong with your Nemesis output there.
Figured as much. I'm thinking the conflict is immersive interactions which is another Nemesis mod that also includes reading while seated, I may find out for sure sometime. That or one of the things I have that changes books/tomes.
Regardless, for now I'm just gonna leave it because it's still an improvement for me than what I had before. I'll let you know if I every do figure it out. Thanks again, homie.
Makes sense, though I don't think in my particular LO there is much conflict between FNIS and Nemesis. Nearly all my animations work as intended. That said, animation/behavior part of my LO was quite a project for me so I think I'm just gonna leave it and take what I can get...
Thanks again! Maybe for my next playthrough I'll ditch FNIS and finally be able to Just Sit Down and Read!
Went ahead and tried it without FNIS. Wasn't the problem -- so I'm thinking it's a conflict from one of my other Nemesis mods. Oh well, this time I really am giving up and taking what I can get. <3
This looks like a fantastic mod that will finally make me stop cursing every time I open up a spell to learn when I'm not standing! I'd like to request Scholarship of Skyrim if it's not too much trouble!
Hi Gira! Spell Learning Restriction got an updated and the author did changes on eeeSpellLearningRestrictionScript script. Was curious if you will be open for an updated too.

Anything I can do?

You only need/want CSL and I Just Want To Sit...

Perhaps you can put it back how it was?
I'll find out about newest fix today.
Reading animation still only plays when standing, but spell learning works properly anytime.
Still, now this mod is strictly better than the OG animation replacer for CSL. Thanks!
