About this mod

Rosefield Cottage is a small Altmer-themed player home in Whiterun Hold, south of Rorikstead.

Requirements
Permissions and credits
Mirrors
This mod requires the Myrwatch and Rare Curios creations, and the official Resource Pack.

This mod was developed for the latest version of Skyrim and will have the 1.71 header, if you are using old versions you will need BEES by Nukem.

House mod YouTuber Febrith Darkstar has made a video of this home! Please check out her channel for more house mod showcases.

Thank you Febrith!

About

The cottage has two floors and a basement, and contains all standard crafting workbenches as well as mannequins, weapon displays, bookshelves, and of course plenty of safe storage. There are also plenty of named custom storage containers for things like soul gems, spell tomes, potions, ores, and ingots. The cottage's general design is strongly inspired by Altmer architecture from ESO, but anyone can make use of it, Altmer or no!

This is only a small home and isn't intended to be an all-in-one, so you can't move your family here and you won't find things like the staff enchanter or Hearthfire planters. However if you prefer simple, cosy, and densely decorated homes you will hopefully find it suitable!

To find it, you can travel to Rorikstead and follow the road southeast out of town. After a short ways it will be south up the hills, along the cliff edge. To obtain this home, read the 'for sale' note by the front door, then speak to the NPC nearby. You can purchase the home from him for 7,500g.

On the upstairs desk there is a journal with a small amount of lore detailing the history of the cottage and to explain how an Altmer building is in Skyrim. I don't blame you if you still think it's a bit farfetched, but still, I tried to make it as natural as possible so you can rest assured it wasn't just plonked down thoughtlessly.

This mod has been cleaned and optimised with xEdit and is fully navmeshed, including the exterior extrance.

If you would like to port directly to the cottage or skip the quest/purchase you can use the following console commands:

Teleport directly to exterior: coc RosefieldCottageExt
Teleport directly to interior: coc RosefieldCottageInt
Obtain house key: player.additem EC_HouseKey 1

Note, the NPC outside will be automatically disabled once you step foot inside the house, whether you purchased it legitimately or ported in. So he won't bother you should you decide to get the home for free.

Compatibility
This mod edits one exterior cell in the Skyrim worldspace, but given that it's out in the middle of nowhere, there shouldn't be many mods that will conflict. Please leave a comment if you do find any conflicts.

Model and texture replacers will be hit and miss with this mod, as I have used some models and textures in unintended ways. For example, to create the unique look of the chairs I placed two banner holder objects on the back, but if you use a mod that completely changes the model of the Noble Chairs, you will have two random floating spikes that look out of place.

Installation
Install either of the main files using your mod manager of choice. Place anywhere in your load order.

Permissions
Rosefield Cottage has open permissions for anything, so long as you credit me and link back here. Your mod must have mine as a requirement; no standalone alternatives.
