Legend of the Vae
An ancient evil, long forgotten and hidden in the shadows has returned to Skyrim. The Vae, a Powerful sect of the evil Dragon Cult,
mysteriously vanished during the Merethic Era. Rumours say that they have
reappeared over the centuries watching and waiting from behind the scenes,
gathering strength and then returning to the Darkness from which they came. What is
their ultimate purpose and who will put an end to their foul schemes?
Differences from the LE Version:
- Most of the levels have been completely overhauled from scratch. That includes Level Design, Lighting, Audio etc. I have tried to stay true to the design concepts of the original LE mod.
- A Brand New Soundtrack
- A brand new area through which you will access the main dungeon. Due to this I have tweaked the storyline a bit.
- The level puzzles have been simplified and in some cases the old puzzles have been completely removed and replaced.
- New enemies have been added, mostly in the form of mini-bosses.
- Some of the existing enemies including bosses have gained new abilities.
- New weapons and armors have been added as rewards.

- This mod adds a new quest and fantasy dungeon with 5 levels
- Each level has its own theme and powerful unique enemies to face
- A custom follower

The Quest:
The quest starts via courier once you've been summoned by the Greybeards.
Difficulty:
- The mod was balanced to be challenging on Expert Difficulty.
- With mods like Experience out one can't speak of player levels anymore. I recommend having over 600HP with good damage, armor rating and resistances.
- THE FINAL BATTLE IS WAR
- A Cheat Sheet is available in the Downloads section. This has been updated to included where to find the journal.
Lighting:
- The lighting and environment have been completely overhauled with Vanilla Lighting Templates in mind.
- This mod has not been tested with any ENB
- Vivid Weathers changes the lighting in the mod drastically especially the exteriors.
Important Notes and Tips:
- The ship that takes you to the Isle of the Vae is no longer at the Serpent Stone. That is the LE version. Check the images section and the Cheat Sheet for the location.
- Make sure to unlock all three words of Whirlwind Sprint or have a Teleport Spell ready. You will need one or the other to progress. Check the Cheat sheet.
- Mods like Sands of Time(SOT), Dragon Combat Overhaul(DCO) and Deadly Dragons can create an overwhelming number of enemies during the Final Battle turning an already tough fight into a nightmare. Consider pausing SOT and altering the Assault Timers on the other two. You have been Warned!!!
- After the dialogue between you and the follower is completed please have them join your party normally as you would any other follower.
- Some levels contain underwater swimming. You might want to consider disabling the underwater depth of field for more visibility.
- If you run DynDoLOD for LOD generation DO NOT include this mod in your Load Order.
Bugs and Issues:
- Sometimes some non humanoid creatures will become immortal for no reason. Not sure what causes this but reload the save.
- The lip files for the follower during the dialogue exchange don't work. It's not really a big deal since the exchange isn't that long.
Compatibility:
- Immersive Interactions - Animated Actions: There is an issue with how the player interacts with the puzzle levers due to how they are positioned. I have made a patch where I have repositioned all the levers affected. Check the optional files section. For the changes to take place on an existing save you will have to make a clean save without the mod, load the patch and restart the quest. To restart the quest travel to any city inn, enter and exit the inn. The courier should appear. Alternatively you can fire up an old save that didn't have the mod loaded.
