INTRODUCTION

This mod will add a bit of immersion to the game by making some guards around the cities pose with their weapons. Animations for one-handed weapons and shield, two-handed weapons, bows, spears, halberds, pikes, quarterstaves and even helmets.

In vanilla game, NPCs only have their weapons drawn when in combat, also the game doesn't have any "pose" that uses the weapons, except for some unique animations that use AnimObjects instead. However, it's possible to replace some animations with OAR and use IED to create the displays for the weapons.
Unfortunately, there are not many conditions to determine when the weapon displays should be created by IED. With that in mind, this mod replaces the 000BFAFD <IdleSoldierWall> idle, which is triggered when using the 000BFB04 <SoldierWallIdle> furniture, thus being possible to be used in a condition by IED.

This furniture is referenced by 80 records across the base game and DLCs, and almost all the time a guard is using it, so there are enough chances for the guards to "pose" with a weapon.

REQUIREMENTS

- Immersive Equipment Displays: Version 1.7.3 or above.
- Open Animation Replacer: To replace the animations.
Optional
- Simple Dual Sheath: With DisableHideOnSit=NPC on its ini.
- Extra Skeleton Nodes: To move the shield in some of the displays, required only if you use SDS.

HOW TO GET STARTED
You'll need to setup some things with IED in order for the mod to work, depending on the options you've chosen during the installation.

One-handed and shield:
Navigate to "View>Gear nodes", select "Global" tab and toggle "NPC", then choose the following preset and click on "Merge":

This will move the sword, axe or mace to an invisible node, since we want to get rid of the scabbard.

Then navigate to "View>Display manager>View>Custom items", select "Global" tab, then choose the following preset and click on "Merge":

This will create the display for the one-handed weapon.

Please note:
If you don't use SDS with "DisableHideOnSit", then apply the preset with "Shield" on its name.
If you use Skyrim Spear Mechanic, then apply the preset with "SP" on its name.

FINAL THOUGHTS

Guards were wearing the armors and weapons from Sons of Skyrim during the photoshoot.

NPCs will only pose and display their weapons when they're equipped. You'll need to have some mod to add all those weapons to the NPCs, should you wish to use all of the presets.

Your load order will be definetely different than mine, so let me know if something doesn't work properly.
Also, if you want to add support to another mod, post the link in the comment section so I could take a look.
