I came here looking for full functionality for Vae 1 with artificer and traumaturgy, I'm failing to understand if this mod has that completely covered...please let me know.
ok so im confused on this whole thing, skypatch says it removesthe esp requirement, so i installed that and this patch but my plugin amount didnt change....like do i have to disable the original vae file or replace files or what......im legit so confused lol
sry I don't really understand the question. VisualAnimatedEnchants_magiceffect patch all the VAE effect for every vanilla enchant effect. For new effect, like every new in TESOI, you will need to patch them. To try to answer your question: you need VisualAnimatedEnchants_magiceffect + every patch for other mod.
What I meant to ask is do I have to include your VisualAnimatedEnchants_magiceffect.ini with my mod, or is it unnecessary because the ini already exists in your mod?
It is up to you, if you put it in, it effect vanilla enchant. If you not, it don't. It is unnecessary if people have both of the mods, but it only overwrite so not going to hurt. it is necessary if people only have your mod or vanilla enchant will not have Visual Effect.
how is this supposed to work? as soon as visualanimatedenchants.esp loses a conflict i lose the visual effect in game. the patch doesnt seem to be doing anything
so its saying the changes are applied for each effect in the log, for example "Fire Damage changed enchantEffectArt 43000D78", but i do not see it in game
yes i am using thaumaturgy and artificer. i disabled the thaumaturgy patch to see if the skypatch would work and cover artificer too since i cant find a patch for that. it doesnt seem to in this case. vae2 is cool but i am sticking to vae1 because i prefer the consistancy with the enb light effects and the weapon tracers
Then In this case, this patch may not work out of the box, edit it's visual effect will do nothing because if the magic effect is not being using (eg.like how artificer change it). You need patches for both thaumaturgy and artificer. Sadly I only make it for VAE2, it will need some work to make it work on VAE1.
i see what you mean how they use their own new magic effects. i was going to see if i could patch it myself, but you beat me to it. you're awesome man
i just tested them quickly, the artificer one is working but the thaumaturgy isn't. i can use the other patch plugin for thaumaturgy for now, thank you for your help
ohh i see what you did, the new enchantments from thaumaturgy are working, my bad. i was testing with vanilla enchants because thaumaturgy changes the editor id and i believe that is why the skypatch doesnt apply to them
I don't use editor id for enchantment, bc i know thaumaturgy will change it so it is not the case. I only use editor id for the VAE effect, FormID for enchantment. Vanilla enchants should work.
as far as i can tell VAE quit working after latest update..does this make it..work again?? i had both VAE and Vibrant weapons working side by side but now only VW works thanks much
sorry i threw VW in there with out explanation so disregard that part VAE seemed to stop working after the Update..was curios if this made it work again and i can try VAE2 but there was some random conflict the first time i tried it and i could not get to clear thanks
"VAE seemed to stop working after the Update", I think you have a mod conflict which will be fixed by this patch. As VAE2, "random conflict" should be also fixed by the patch I made.
SkyPatcher is making so many things possible, it's not even funny!
I'm not super versed in how it works, but does SkyPatcher allow other mods like Summermyst and ESO Imports to use your visuals? I ask because I use those mods and it's very disheartening to have only some weapons with stylish visuals while others look so bland.
I know, that's why I make all those patches. It is possible, but need to make patch. SkyPatcher can make some patch don't even need to exist, but if you want new enchantment have VAE effect, a patch is still needed (either traditional way or SkyPatcher way) It is not hard to do so, but before someone make that, you can still use Summermyst patch in a traditional way (i don't know if anyone make for ESO imports).

You still need the esp from original mod.
But you no longer need most of the patches.
I think I've managed to add your visuals to every custom weapon magic effect.
I think the people using The Elder Scrolls Online Imports will be happy.

I tested, it work for me
I only use editor id for the VAE effect, FormID for enchantment.
Vanilla enchants should work.
this happened to be the one i was testing with LOL. now it all makes sense. everything works

Will you try VAE2? since Vibrant weapons is a "Lite" version of VAE2.
VAE seemed to stop working after the Update..was curios if this made it work again
