Currently supporting Dear Diary DM warm/white and Dear Diary Paper at 16:9 ratio. While I've heard some of my files work with widescreen (not all), I have no plans on supporting other aspect ratios.

The files here are intended for 1.6.1130+ users.  And by "+", that means 1.6.1170, too.  If you're on a version prior to 1.6.1130, you do not need these (or any) squish fixes.

    On the "Difficulty Persistence Fix":

I've read a couple isolated posts saying the original 'difficulty persistence fix' (for the quest_journal.swf), which I integrated in version 0.7,  only works on 1.6.1130.  Those claims appear to be false.  I've done some pretty extensive testing, including a lot of testing with the survival option, and have had zero issues using it on 1.6.1170.  (Note:  My testing was done with, of course, DDDM and my fixes here.  Perhaps there's something about DDDM that makes it continue to work - I don't know.  I just know that it does.)

    ------------------------------------------------------

To the people who are saying 'thanks':

    - You're welcome!  I may not respond individually, but I promise I do read every single comment, and am sincerely happy you're enjoying the fixes!

If your Item Cards look vanilla on magic items or items with new descriptions:
    Spoiler:
    Show

    - This may be happening if you use moreHUD Inventory Edition and/or you have installed DDDM support for it.
    - To fix, go into the SKSE/Plugins folder of DDDM and open "AHZmoreHUDInventory.ini"
    - Change "bEnableItemCardResize=" from 1 to 0.
    - If you did not install the DDDM option for MoreHUD IE, but you do use that mod, then you'll need to change it there instead.
    - Note:  This is not an issue if you use the white font version of DDDM, and have it overwriting that file, because it defaults to 0. I'm guessing this was uranreactor's intention for the warm DM version, too.

    Main Files Updates:
    Spoiler:
    Show

    0.8
    - Finally got around to centering the message box (messagebox.swf), and tweaking its border, so it looks better.  I only tested the DDDM (warm) version, which works perfectly.  While the (white) and Paper versions were not tested, it's the same fix, so they should be fine.  Let me know if there's an issue.

    0.7
    - Game difficulty setting fix added to all main versions, as mentioned here. (Edit - I think the sticky I saw it in was edited or unstuck.)

    0.6:
    - Fixed missing edge on messagebox.swf under certain circumstances (ex yes/no while crafting). Ok, it's not perfect, but definitely passable.  May revisit.
    - tweaked dialoguemenu.swf and trainingmenu.swf for better positioning (you probably won't notice).
    - Redid statusmenu.swf for OCD purposes.

    0.5:
    - statusmenu.swf fixed.  Credit to softspider for the suggestion.

    Optional Files:
    Spoiler:
    Show

    - Patches added for Faen90's wonderful Completionist - Skyrim Completion Tracker (NG) mod (permissions granted in their posts).  Because that mod includes a patched version of the C.O.C.K.S files, I patched and included those, too.  Therefore, if you're downloading my Completionist fixes here, and use C.O.C.K.S, don't worry about getting those fixes - they're already in my Completionist fixes. If you don't use C.O.C.K.S, don't worry, you can still install my fixes here without issue. Note: when installing Completionist, keep in mind, I only support the options under "Dear Diary".  In the Completionist installer, on the first page, you should only be picking 1 option.  Then, get the appropriate squish patch for DDDM or DD (Paper), from me here. While working with realkodijack, we discovered if you incorrectly/accidentally pick more than 1 option, bad things happen with the inventory menu (because you end up with the wrong inventorylists.swf file).
Constructible Object Custom Keyword System patches are up!  You do need the original patch listed in the download for the version you
use.  I didn't want to step on anyone's mod and make theirs no longer needed.  Credit to Fuzzlesz for the original DDDM patches and ModiLogist for the Paper version. FYI: The 'white' version adopts the same error in the original patch, that being the wrong font colour. I'll see about fixing it, but it's a prettybig task, so give me some time. :)
    - Dragonborn Voice Over patches are up!  You do not need the original DBVO DDM patch.  Load below that mod and the applicable main file here.  Credit to MathiewMay (patreon link per permissions) for the original mod and patches.
    - Added a patched version of DDDM (warm)'s Extended UI option, for those who use Extended UI.  Credit to MrJack/mrpwn for the original Extended UI. If you want to try it out, install in this order: Extended UI, DDDM (warm) with the Extended UI option, my DDDM (warm) fixes here, and finally my Extended UI Patch here in Misc.

Any chance you could shed some light on how the actual "fixes" are implemented?  I.E. which files were edited, and how, after decompiling?  I have some UI mods that are not yet released and would like to make sure they are also compatible with the latest update before putting them out into the world.  Any guidance would be appreciated.

Does this already include the fixes from Quest Journal Fix for SkyUI? The 2 mods conflict and I'm not sure which should overwrite. The conflicting file is the quest_journal.swf

It's already included, starting with 0.7.

Thank you so much for this! It fixed the menu issues I was having save for one. The dialog options for NPC's are still squished. Any ideas on why that is or what I may have missed?

    Thank again!

Hello, Mr. XCal68. Thank you for creating this fix for the community. You have my respect.

While I followed your instructions, I still got the issue of some item boxes showing DDDM (warm) themes and vanilla ones. My monitor is 16:9 (1920 x 1080px). I got the AE GOG version of this game.
So far I've installed the mod "moreHUD Inventory Edition", and curiously, my SKSE ini already had "bEnableItemCardResize=" enabled to 0 by the time I got there. Still, no luck with the description cards for items and magic. Concerning Load Order, your fix is the last mod on the list of DDDM UI related group. Some were DDDM themed, some are still vanilla. What to try next?

While tackling the topic, now regarding stretched dialogue boxes, I have also installed the Misc. File "Dear Diary DM (warm) Fixes - Extended UI Patch", but to no avail. The dialogue boxes stretch all the day to the corners of my monitor, and even the speech text goes beyond the box borders and clipping away from view.

What could I be doing wrong?
    Thanks in advance, friend.

I'm not seeing you have the required files installed, at least that's what Nexus is telling me.

Have you first installed Dear Diary Dark Mode?  You need that and then have my files overwrite it.

Are you actually using Extended UI?  Do not use my fix if you aren't.

Also, make sure you have nothing overwriting AHZmoreHUDInventory.ini.  If you're using MO2, this is easy to check by double clicking MoreHUD Inventory Edition in the left plane and check for conflicts.

The bottom line, it's going to all be about load order.  My fixes need to win.

Hello, and thank you for replying. Appreciated.
Oh wow, you can actually see the mods I have installed? That's cool, I guess. :)

Yes, I am using DDDM, and it already works as intended. The dark theme is there. The only rough edges left to trim are the item card boxes and stretched dialogue boxes.

I don't use Extended UI (to be honest, I don't use anything from Oldrim anymore).

Now, I shall take a moment later to check "AHZmoreHUDInventory.ini" as you instructed. Hopefully this does not involve xEdit, due to the fact the software simply refuses to work on my computer.

Could I bring you my Load Order (PasteBin link) later, if the problem persists?

Thanks for now, friend. Talk to you soon.

Ya, Nexus has a fancy button I can click to see if you meet the requirements that I've got listed.

If you use MO2: On the right side, click "Data" at the top of the list.  In the filter in the lower right, put in "AHZmoreHUDInventory.ini" (no quotes).  In the results above, double click SKSE and then Plugins.  You should see the "AHZmoreHUDInventory.ini" which will probably be in red.  Under "Mod" to the right of that, it'll tell you what mod is providing the last instance of the file.  If it doesn't point at the original DDDM mod, then something is wrong with the load order.  If it does point at the right mod, then double check the setting I mentioned in my sticky.

For your other issue, do the same steps I just mentioned, but this time with dialoguemenu.swf.  My fix should be listed, this time, under Mod.

But ya, if that doesn't work, I can look at your LO.

      Hi there, XCal.
I gotta thank you for the personal help managing this problem I have. You truly are respectable modder.

Well, I took some time after returning home to apply those adjustments and comparisons as you suggested, but I'm afraid the news ain't good yet. Nothing has changed. Every adjustment you proposed was correct on my end, and I brought screenshots to give you via ImGur.

      https://imgur.com/a/AcGiqcZ

I believe we are down to the Load Order then...
      (10 minutes later)
And check this out... PasteBin won't let me upload my LO because it contains mods with "questionable" titles in it (cough cough, OStim animations probably...).

I'll send you the LO via direct message, ok? Sorry about that. >_O

Thanks for everything so far, XCal!

Kind of annoying that "only" 16:9 is supported, while Bethesda even put in UW support in the newest editions and many gamers are moving towards that setup.

While these fixes did indeed fix the squish, NOW with 21:9 everything is stretched out.

If anyone has figured out how to fix it, please post. I'm pretty sure there's more than just a small handful listed here that would LOVE to see this updated for additional support

I do not have a proper 21:9 monitor to test with, but I took a stab at it.

Here's your homework.  Get this: DDDM_21x9_Test

Copy and paste the following into a response and pick the right answer to how the menu looks:

      Buy something: Good/Bad
      Loot something (ex barrel): Good/Bad
      Open a crafting menu: Good/Bad
Pick something to craft. The "yes/no" box looks: Good/Bad
      Talk to someone: Good/Bad
      Viewing your inventory: Good/Bad
      View your spells: Good/Bad
      Open the Quest/General Sats/System: Good/Bad
      Open Perks: Good/Bad
Open the training menu with someone: Good/Bad

      Open a crafting menu: Good
Pick something to craft. The "yes/no" box looks: Good
Talk to someone: Bad (I presume you meant the dialogue menu?)
      Viewing your inventory: Good
      View your spells: Good
      Open the Quest/General Sats/System: Bad
      Open Perks: Bad
Open the training menu with someone: Bad

      Addtl Notes:
Pretty sure it's not your scope, but all of the HUD is stretched (compass, crosshair, etc)
In the dialogue menu, the menu is strecthed and all the way to the right, I think I remember it being closer to the middle. Also, either the compass or the speaker's name is off center at the top. If you'd like, I might be able to make a recording of it all and post it.
The selection menu (press TAB, circle on PS) is stretched
There were a few others that I forgot to write down

Hello, by Dear Diary Paper, do you mean this variant?

I don't really know how to work with UI mods like this so if that's the version then that'd be great as it's what I'm using ^.^' If not then that's fine. Thank you still for helping fix Dear Diary.

Hi there.  The supported versions are linked in the description and the sticky at the top of this page.  I'm afraid it's not the paper/wood one, just paper. You probably could use the paper one here for patches, but from the screen shots, it looks like it'd be too light coloured.

I saw, I was just unsure due to the paper name >.< And yes, I find default Dear Diary too bright whereas Wood and Paper manages to keep a nice paper-y and worn out aesthetic without burning my eyes. Shame there's no fixed variant for it but that's fine.

Again, thank you for making this and helping many other players of this game! Hell, maybe it's time I start using Dark Mode haha
