THE DEDICATED HELP FORUMS, AS WELL AS ALL SUBFORUMS ARE CLOSED. Populated forums were left up for archival purposes and the "HELP!?" forum can be used as a resource in the event you and the poster might have the same issue, or one that is similar.
I will not be doing in depth isolation procedures, however I may chime in every now and again. That said your posts are now required to be in the following format if they are a request for IN DEPTH troubleshooting.(if you have a few questions fine, but if you're having a consistent recurring crash, Infinite Loading Screen, Mod Conflict issues etc read on)
MANDATORY HELP REQUEST FORMAT:
First give me a BRIEF description of issue. Things like are you crashing randomly, or in a certain spot etc. Don't get into the nitty gritty of all you've tried here, just a short intro to it.
Yes this means the bulk of you post is going on the post you make in THAT forum. Why? Because that forum has every bit as much traffic as my humble comments section here. The community can chime in at your post(be sure to track it) and myself and others can comment here. All the while my comments section stays free of wordwalls that take up the whole first page.
The forum post you make should not be addressed specifically to me or the Guide; others can and will help. Include your papyrus logs, load order, system specs and .ini settings in the forum post. That will ensure anyone there with a mind to help has an abundance of information with which to cross reference.
The questions posted on this outside forum must be Skyrim specific. Meaning if you have a question about a utility that is suggested here, just ask those in the body of the comment and disregard posting in the Skyrim Mod Troubleshooting forum.
ALL POSTS that do not meet these requirements will be at best ignored by me(others may still answer) and at worst deleted entirely(only if it's a wordwall).
I recomend you guys using various cleaning programs, like CleanMyPC registry cleaner and WiseRegistry Cleaner. Every program can detect different problems and by using different sofware you can clean far better your system.
Such a nice guide, but a bit confusing (mainly due to the information overload). After reading it I haven't been able to find what I wanted, maybe I skipped or maybe it wasn't there, but what I'm seeking to is the memory leak that makes the FPS decrease over time. Do you guys know where exactly in the guide I can find the fix? Or if it isn't here, where can I find a guide or a fix? Thanks
Section 5 is the only fix for memory management currently posted on the mod.
Unfortunately Skyrim is a catawampus, error-prone mess and it is very difficult to approach troubleshooting from a universal standpoint. Were I to leave the advanced stuff out, people would ask about it and if I put it in people get confused. In general, I work under the assumption that people have a problem set and are just going to look for "their answers", which are hopefully contained herein somewhere. If you try to read it all in a day, you will retain nothing; however if you use it as a reference now then eventually you will have all this proprietary, non-transferrable knowledge bouncing around in your brain like I do in no time
