Hey guys. So time to come out of the shadows and introduce myself formally to you all.
A few months ago I got permission from Nikinoodles to take over Cloaks of Skyrim and ever since then I've been working on a big 2.0 update. The update isn't done yet, but some of the features will be: - Higher resolution textures with more detail and more definition to the textures of each cloak - Better UV maps that will waste more space which means significantly more quality per resolution size - More cloaks including tattered variants and more DLC options such as cloaks based around Dragonborns story. - I'm also moving the whole mod over to a texture sets method instead of using meshes which means the entire esp structure will change, and there will be a much smaller download size.
Also Nikinoodles gave me permission to handle all the admin and permissions side of things as they aren't really involved in modding any more, so if you have questions about permissions and asset usage, feel free to direct them at me now. Anyone who made patches or used assets while Nikinoodles was AFK doesn't have to worry about it as as far as I'm concerned, you're all good now. This still stands as well which is quoted from Nikinoodles old sticky post (which I unfortunately had to unsticky as there was too many replies to it and it was just cluttering up the page).
Any other questions, let me know, but I won't be doing ETAs on the update or going into too much more detail at this moment, at least not until the update has some more progress behind it.
Yeah, your cloaks, mutes the footsteps of the player, might wanna fix that, lots of people think its there computer or mods from AOS immersion, so uh, yeah
Hey a question for ANYONE who sees this: how do I go about crafting the ARMORED versions of the Fur Cloaks? I have them craftable on the console but I don’t know how to go about making them on PC, so can ANYONE help me out here?
Hi, the mod is working just fine, i don't see any problems so far. But i have one question, Is the cape really shows no model in the tanning rack when about to be crafted as well as in the inventory? Its kinda bugging me that i have to load my game multiple times just so i can find one that suits me. Thanks..
I cant buy capes from stores, nor can I find linnen wraps to make linnen capes. I have some economy mods installed. What can I do? I think the clothing shop at solitude should sell capes and cloaks?
Linen wraps can be found in dungeons, especially anywhere there are draugrs or tombs. If you think your economy mods are interfering with your ability to buy capes/cloaks, then try loading this mod below those mods in your mod order.
late answer but just need if still not fixed your problem here is a consol command player.AddItem 00034cd6 10 this will give u 10 linnen wraps, you can change the last number (10) if u need more or less
Is there a way to remove specific cloaks from the mod? A handful of the cloaks mess with my game and have horrible blue errors with them. The rest work fine, but it would be really nice if I could remove only the problematic ones. When the blue errors pop up, it makes it really hard to see my screen. Charging Korvanjund with the Stormcloaks was difficult because one of them had a glitchy cloak on - luckily that was the NPC that stayed back in the main chamber. Otherwise I would have had to uninstall the mod just to be able to see to do the quest.
This is still the case. Wish we knew what files exactly to remove to correct the problem. Some cloak textures on NPCs cause a weird texture stretching until the cloak is removed from the NPC.
I've no doubt it's a conflict with one or more other mods, Skyrim's not been on my PC for a year but I had this up and kicking for years with no problems... I even edited some of the cloaks with enchantments and placement for my games, no problems at all. So if you guys have a problem with mesh tearing and or missing textures look at your load, try to understand what it is you're doing when you drop in a mod, learn about what's happening. I only ever manually install, that way I see what I'm putting in and, I see where it's going, I also see what it's going to interfere with for the most part too... time to work on your learning guys
Sorry dude to ruin your vibe, but it is this mode as this was the first and only mod I tried and fucked up my game. Now that I removed it and even have other mods no problem. To me it was the blue hide cloak, I hope it helps to the others as well.
Ain't ruinin my anything fella! A quater of a million users are happy to endorse the mod 'dude' so you're doing something wrong, maybe you have SSE/AE/VR, maybe you didn't follow the installation instructions properly, maybe you're doing something else... but, as your first (and likely only) post's an acidic gripe I guess you'll just have to deal with it... ce'ya
I know this is a few months later, but I have come here in search of the answer to this problem too! For me its the black hide cloak. I've collected a few black hide cloaks and brown hide cloaks from bandits, and it's only the black ones that are giving me grief. Awful blue glitch all over the screen when the cloak wearer is somewhere within the field of vision. Great for spotting bandits across the valley, though!
Just got the error a lot of blue/black texture errors its especially broken when doing sieges for the civil war. I only have like 50 mods and the other clothing mod I had was immersive armors either this mod is getting overwritten by other mods that are new since this one hasnt gotten an update since 2013 and now new mods are causing this to error so hard cause of old code. Not to mention vamps and briarhearts are broken unless u have the patch for usleep.Sadly I used to have this mod years ago and now coming back it seems it didnt age well now.
The age of the mod has nothing to do with it as the code is the same as mods made in 2023 it's all TESScript which has not all changed since 2011 Get one of the new rextures for the mod like the ones by ElSopa, JDAnchor or XilaMonstrr Then you will not see the issue of missing textures at all.
If you have Skyrim Special Edition or Skyrim Anniversary Edition then you should direct your queries to the SSE pages, there you will find all the mods for your edition of the game.
Do you mean the Dawnguard DLC, If you're new to Skyrim then DawnGuard is one of the DLC's, it's included in the Legendary Edition Skyrim game but not in the original, So if you only have Skyrim*, then just download the non Dawnguard Cloaks of Skyrim.
There is a fix for Briarhearts that has a fix for the fix which is for Vampires if you want to try both of them together. (If you have USLEEP) I can not say if they will work though but worth a shot Link 1 Link 2
So the instructions in the description do not seem to work with Skyrim AE or I just can't get get passed the step of finding the Cloak.esp file. Is there no other way to get the tails back? I noticed the original OP mentioned about possibly adding a script for it. There is a mod that patches in tails but only seems to work for SE and even then it's manual.

It never happened to me

I have over 2k mods and no issues with this mod
Here you can see a screenshot:

I have installed Cloaks of Skyrim, Cloaks Of Skyrim Retextured SE 2k and Cloaks Of Skyrim Retextured Mesh Update 1.2.
A re-install did not help.
Can you please help me?

*without the DLC expansions
I had heard this, but I don't remember ever using another clothing mod besides Clothing and clutter fixes... unless 'that' messed things up somehow.
I can not say if they will work though but worth a shot
