I want to give the Orcs a much needed upgrade, starting with Narzulbur, the vanilla stronghold isn't that well fortified for the definition of Stronghold, compared side by side with Halted Steam Camp there isn't much difference between the two visually and thematically, the vanilla strongholds are more like walled camps, so hopefully this mod changes that and makes Narzulbur earn the title of Stronghold.


My inspiration has been derived from reference images of Viking forts which were mainly comprised of large log pike walls with the use of rocks at the base for extra fortification. The towers also give extra defensive capabilities for archers and give the structure a much more imposing stature.

i read this and thought there aren't any signs of this in the Orc Strongholds in Skyrim, most tribal communities in our real world create artistic crafts and decorations, so i added some signs of culture with banners from a mod resource.


Orcs in Skyrim

they have lived in skyrim for centuries yet their strongholds look like they were just built in a week, i see not much difference bewteen a bandit camp and the vanilla strongholds, now with this mod that changes that :) 



HIGHLY RECCOMENDED MODS

The following are not required for my mod to function, it will function without these, but to add an extra important layer of immersion these mods fit thematically with the end design.

Nordic Stonewalls  - i made my mod with these rocks specifically, you may notice oddites like clipping or gaps if you aren't using these. (

FYX - 3D Stockades - Walls and Gate - same as above, the vanilla pencil crayon stockades look too perfect, these make the stockades look much more rugged, you may get clipping and floating issues if you don't use these.

FYX - 3D Stockades - Makes the stockade walls look much better looking and rugged, instead of giant pencil crayons.

Skyland AIO - it's the main texture mod i use, you can use whatever you want.

- (MAJOR CONFLICT see below) Spice Of Life Orc Strongholds - improves the Orc Buildings texture, place after your main texture overhauls. there is also a patch for Fyx and this mod to work together here Spice of Life - FYX 3D Patches

Daedric Shrines - All in One - OR - Daedric Shrines - Malacath just get them :)

- Children of the Pariah an Orc NPC Overhaul - You don't need this but it's a fantastic mod

Daughters of Malacath - you don't need this but it gives the Orc women a much needed makeover.

INCOMPATIBLE MODS

Version 1.6 ;

eFPS - Exterior FPS boost - you will get flickering and  disapearing objects as you move around the Stronghold near the farm area, i have made compatibility patch to fix this, you can find it in the optional files tab. NOT ON LE AND DO NOT ASK

-   Spice Of Life Orc Strongholds, if you have my mod loaded before Spice of life you will have the vanilla walls reappear and clip through my placed walls blocking off areas and cause floating objects, i have provided a patch in the optional files tab. load the patch after Spice of Life.

- Any mod that alters the exterior cell of Narzulbur will be incompatible.

- Unknown if extra Orc Npcs mods have an effect as i don't use them. my mod already adds a few extra npcs so you might not need any extra.


MINOR CONFLICTS

LUX ORBIS - A lantern will be seen on the floor by the forge if you are using Lux Orbis, there is a patch for this minor issue in the optional files tab.
NOT ON LE 



 DYNDOLOD USERS

- you will need to re run DynDolod after installing my mod, otherwise you'll get pop in of the walls and towers from a distance.



LOAD ORDER

I have found a load order confilct in my modlist, where the vanilla stronghold walls appear and clip through my mod walls, i fixed this by placing it low down on my load order.
This issue was caused by Spice of Life (see above) i have made a patch to fix this issue.

Load order shouldn't matter too much now, i place it with my location overhauls alongside JK Skyrim, Fortified Whiterun etc, make sure to load my Spice of Life patch after Spice of life

KNOWN BUGS 

I'll get these bugs ironed out eventually, however they're not severe.

Version 1.6;

- a blurred square blood decal texture is in the middle near the deer corpse, i have no idea what this is or how to fix it, if anyone knows let me know in the comments or DM me and i'll fix it.

- the deer corpse might randomly spawn out of nowhere.
