Mostly Auska (@effs) and Ellie (@E1337Kat) this time around, but we're grateful for the help from both CDPR and Nexus Mods immediately after the REDmodding news dropped - special thanks to @Pickysaurus for even contributing code, and @rfuzzo for bearing with the endlessly meticulous questions about REDmodding implementation minutiae to make sure we'd be able to be 100% compatible! (Pretty sure we hit every remaining bug and quirk in the redmodding tools in this process :innocent:)
As always, thanks to all of you for your feedback, suggestions, bug reports, support, and in this case a little patience too!
2.01 Re-Enables Redmods The problem introduced by PL should no longer be an issue, but you may need to clean up your installation for an easier time: just Disable and Purge everything, run Mod Remover, and then update + re-enable mods.
Original message:
2.0 and Phantom Liberty both Introduce Problems with Redmods specifically.
If you're getting a crash right at the first splash screen after deploying from Vortex, you can try:
1. Copy all .bin files from r6/cache/ to r6/cache/modded/ and try again 2. If that didn't work, after deployment and 1. open r6/cache/modded/mods.json and change all mods to "deployedHash": 0 and "deployed": false
It should work from Vortex (use the run with mods enabled button, Dashboard > Tools if it's not visible), but on 2.0 the store launchers at least also work. Not sure about PL functionality yet.
Another alternative is converting everything to archivepcmods. This may be easier in the short term, until redmod and the launchers are fixed.
1. Any mods that were autoconverted, you can right click -> Reinstall (after turning autoconvert off) 2. Any mods that have an archivepcmod version, you can install that over the Redmod version 3. Any mods that only have a Redmod version, and only have archives (or tweaks when they work again), you need to wrap. This is a bit more advanced, but there shouldn't be many of these. Disable the mod first. Then download the mod manually and extract it. If it's just a single .archive, you can dragdrop that to Vortex (there's a dropdown area at the bottom of the mods view.) If there's lots of archives or something else, you need to fix it to correct paths yourself.
Downloading 12.3 GB of City of Dreams and I've probably had to click these 100s of times already and not even halfway through:
When you see a pop-up titled "Mod contains protected paths" select "Yes install to staging anyway"
When you see a pop-up titled "You have reached the fallback installer" select "Yes install to staging anyway"
When you see a pop-up titled "not an archive" select "create mod".
When you see a pop-up titled "Mod installed but may need manual adjustment" select "Understood".
When you see a pop-up titled "Error" select "close"
Throughout the installation process, you will have some "installer" popups so that you can customize some mods to your liking.
Please devs, add a "do not ask again" check box. It's our own damn fault if we do it wrong, but I am tired of clicking the same answer over and over, especially when there is only one option like "understood"
1200 mods and I have to click these annoying pop ups hundreds of times. Fucking ridiculous. Same as "Reinstall this mod" there is no option to "reinstall all duplicates" or "Ignore all duplicates". Although I saw it exist but for some reason, only under certain conditions.
Does discord work? just joined but it looks empty no channels or anything, I'm having this same problem. (I'm trying to download archiveXL and tweakXl but vortex says it cannot find expected installation)
Thank you for breaking the collections using ArchiveXL and TweakXL!
I re-subbed premium and downloaded WTNC only for me to not be able to do a modded playthrough because of your arbitrary decision to screw everyone else not using the latest version of the mod!
Thanks for voluntarily screwing everyone. I sincerely appreciate your hard work in making things difficult for users and mod authors alike :)
I am having the exact same issue. I was finally going to download WTNC and be able to play it, but lo and behold I am unable to touch it since TweakXL since it isn't a "Expected Installation" and it refuses to download it.
After hours of troubleshooting this, I followed your rec of 0.10.3 (uninstall the extension, restart vortex, drag zip to extensions drop box, restart vortex) and I was able to get going. Thank you so much. How frustrating. My entire morning before work wasted on this
After install any redmod or converted to redmod weapon modification "Airstrike" will start crash the game. If install redmods manually it works normal.
Cyberpunk 2077 load order confusion: Mod authors on Nexus consistently say to rename files with ### so it loads first to override other mods, and add zzz so it loads last to let other mods override.
Vortex file conflict manager ("Manage Rules") says the opposite, that loading after/last will override the other mods.
Meanwhile Vortex "Load Order" lists different mods than what is listed in it's conflict manager, and while it explains that only RedMods can be ordered with that Load Order feature, it does not explain whether loading first or last will either override or be overridden.
Perhaps it is simply common knowledge how load order works in these various contexts, but I have not been able to find a clear explanation anywhere.
Apparently Cyberpunk 2077 works opposite to most other games, at least as described by numerous mod authors on Nexus, in that things ordered alphabetically first override things ordered alphabetically last. The fact that Vortex seems to make no visible concession to, nor mention of, this fact is really confusing to me.
Is Cyberpunk 2077 actually just loading things in alphabetically reverse order so that actually ### loads after zzz, and Vortex conflict checker is transparently accounting for this and when the user chooses "load after" its naming it accordingly behind the scenes?
Or does the game load in alphabetical order, and just hold onto mods loaded first, discarding conflicting mods that are loaded after? In which case Vortex could just be showing hints based on Bethesda games, and ordering things in the reverse of what the user probably wants, unless the user knows that cyberpunk is the opposite of other games (and Vortex?) and chooses "load before" to override, despite the hint saying that "load before" get's overridden... and surely you can see how confusing this might appear, especially given the lack of any clear explanation.
Night City Alive and NCPD Prevention Police Enhancement author here, On my second mod, NCPD Prevention Police Enhancement, since 2.11 official CDPR update, people are reporting issues with Vortex installation. It seem to be related to the folder address of the DLC. Also, in 2.11 official changelog, CDPR said :
Something to do with ? I double checked my mods before uploading and nothing wrong. Also, manual installation work perfectly.
You can consult the mod post page to see exactly what people encounter.
I apologize for not seeing this before. I know what the problem probably is. I didn't realize that they (CDPR) had added additional tweak paths and whatnot. I can get a fix for that probably next week at somepoint.
There's a problem with installing the latest version of input loader (located here: https://github.com/jackhumbert/cyberpunk2077-input-loader). I believe the extension needs to get updated to recognize this?

I am also interested in using Vortex to change cyberpunk mods load order.

OK, its been a week... can this be solved, please?
I checked the input loader logs and it's working correctly (Cyberpunk 2077\red4ext\logs)
Hope that helps!
