    For those of you using this guide, I just sat for the past 3 hours trying to figure out why my game was a purple and blue haze everywhere! I knew the cause from skyrim modding, it meant that there were missing textures so I tried hunting down the culprit but I had already gone so far in to the guide and I struggled to isolate the offending mod.

    So I started from scratch and ended up at the end of the CORE section and retested the game only to find that the game was STILL blue and purple.  but now  I knew which mod it was.  It was Oblivion Reloaded Combined.

    The guide doesn't explain that you must NOT use the 194 version. I naturally just grabbed the latest version and then I read in this thread below that the version we should use is 1922.

    The moment I used 1922, my game looked normal!

    I hope this helps someone else save 3 hours of their life.

      At the time, ORC 1.9.4 wasn't out, so there was no need to clarify that. Then, the guide stopped receiving updates, meaning any and all future ORC updates were never noticed by Dispensation (until recently)

      There's also no need to go beyond ORC 1.9.2 (or 1.9.3).

      Yh, I can understand that. Would just be nice if the guide explicitly stated the version.

      Maybe someone else can take over the guide and try and keep it maintained. I know it's a big ask but there are still quite a few people that play oblivion.

    good guide, thanks for the commitment over the years. 

    i am having some issues with the MPGUI section of the LOD. the feature that creates a new project in wyre bash, monitor external installation, outputs the incorrect path directories for the MPGUI mesh and texture files. i tried following the instructions but this is what i have 

    for textures i have this 
    ...\steamapps\common\Oblivion Mods\Bash Installers\MPGUI\Textures\LandscapeLOD\Generated

    for meshes i have this 
    ...steamapps\common\Oblivion Mods\Bash Installers\MPGUI\Meshes\Landscape\Lod

    is this right? also the texture files are in .bmp format when the other texture files in oblivion are .dds

    what do i do? the instructions are not very clear on this

    Thank you so much for a brilliant guide. I've got a few issues after finishing, most of them config but I cant find where to change them.

    When I press B or N, it opens my menu to my spells page. This conflicts with Combat Additions. I checked all my configs and can't find it bound anywhere.

    I would be greatful for any pointers from anyone.

    Could someone help me? I don't like the replacement of leather armor as it is. Is there any way to make leather armor look like the one in Vanilla Gear Redux?

    Another question too, do you think Mart's Monster Mod works with this setup?

      having the same issue but its loading leather Armor instead of from the thief folder.  when i first start. the rough leather has normal greaves but the other leather Armor pieces. not sure what mod is causing it

    I have a strange problem and am wondering if anyone can help. During combat, any random hit from an enemy can 1 shot me and I'm not sure why.

    I'll use a mudcrab as an example. While trying to train Block a bit, I was letting a mudcrab hit me while guarding. I have about 8 armor and 40 HP so I'm pretty squishy, but even still most hits through my dagger's guard were for about 10% of my HP. Then a random hit from the crab will obliterate me from full. I've replicated this happening over and over and experienced it with other enemies, though Mudcrabs I'm certain should not be able to do this.

    Anyone know if it's normal for a mudcrab to suddenly do more than 40 damage with these mods, and if not what could be causing it?

    I did not get everything on the list, which I know complicates some things. Maskars is really the only one I could think that would cause something like this but idk. I did not get WAC, so Maskars, Francescos, and Av Latta are the only big overhauls I have going. 


    EDIT - I figured it out, it's ORC which randomizes difficulty every second by default.... I feel like this should be mentioned in the description, especially since it is filed under Core, and not Overhauls or Gameplay. 

    Note: Having a great time now and love this list and the careful instructions it provides, but that setting was making the game unplayable for me personally.

      Good troubleshooting! I don’t know when that feature was added to ORC. It’s possible that it was added recently, which would explain why it’s not mentioned in the guide. And unfortunately, Dispensation has retired from modding, as per the pinned post.

      I just wanted to explain why the guide might not mention what you discovered, while also expressing appreciation for your efforts.

      Wow, thank you for that tip. I'll definitely want to change that rogue setting.

      Now, if I can only figure out why I'm only getting my Int as Magicka, instead of the Int x 2.5 setting from Ultimate Leveling. >.>

      1Mac - That makes sense to me, and thanks for the support

      lumenescer - I concur with Vengyre that it is Av Lotta causing your magicka to be low. The default setting is called "progressive", which I understand to mean that intelligence adds more and more magicka per point the higher it goes, conversely meaning early levels of Int give you less magicka per point than vanilla. You can change that setting to "Vanilla" (which is what I did) or to "Class based" which I don't fully understand (perhaps front-loaded as opposed to progressive's back loaded Magicka?). For my lvl 4 dunmer spell thief with 30 Int I had: 30 magicka with "Progressive", 60 with "Vanilla", and something like 120 with class based which seemed like too much.
