Some changes I made to NV Animated Vending Machines, uploaded with permission from the original author.

This is  the standalone version of my NV Animated Vending Machines revision. For the Animated Mojave release, please go here.

You need the original mod in order for this to work.

You can find AmaccurzerO's NV Animated Vending Machines here.
Pairs well with Old World Blues - Modified Nuka-Cola Machine Restoration, though vending machine animations won't work unless a patch is made.

What is this?

NV Animated Vending Machines essentially makes vending machines in-game function as they would in the real world: you give the machine (pre-war) money, and, after a neat little animation, it gives you a drink. It was, however, somewhat unfinished. My version attempts to fix this.

What does this version change?
  • Nearly every piece of dialogue has been rewrtitten to account for typos and game syntax consistency, with the two scripts used across the original mod also being modified to create a newer, more loophole-proof plugin.
  • The mod now comes in 3 flavors, each accounting for personal preferences in regard to balancing (see more on that below.).
  • Additionally, the displays for both the Nuka-Cola Vending Machines and Sunset Sarsaparilla Vending Machines have had flavor text added to them, with dialogue inspired by Old World Blues - Modified Nuka-Cola Machine Restoration.
  • Demonstrations of both the original mod and my revision can be seen below.

Versions
This mod now comes in 3 flavors:
  • Full stock
  • Half stock
  • Low stock
Full stock slightly modifies AmaccurzerO's original balancing, with Sunset Sarsaparilla machines being marked as empty after 10 bottles and Nuka-Cola machines marking themselves empty after 12.

Half stock does to the quantity of available bottles what its' name implies - it cuts it in half. Sunset Sarsaparilla machines will be depleted after 5 bottles. and Nuka-Cola machines will be depleted after 6 bottles.

Low stock is for those that prefer the scarcity of sodas found in vanilla New Vegas. Sunset Sarsaparilla machines will deplete after 2 bottles, and Nuka-Cola machines after 3. Highly recommended.

Known Incompatibilities
  • While recommended that you use this mod with Old World Blues - Modified Nuka-Cola Machine Restoration, the machine added by that mod will not use the animations provided by this mod.
  • Because this mod uses custom animations to show the sodas being dispensed, it will not reflect any changes made to the meshes of these items by default. This means that mods like zzjay's Nuka Cola World, while not explicity incompatible, will not behave as hoped in regards to the vending machine animations.
  • This mod does not affect the Nuka-Cola machines in the Fallout 3 half of Tale of Two Wastelands. Whether this means any mod-added machines are incompatible or not is as of yet unclear.
  • Ojo-Bueno users: Nuka-Cola Ojo.esp is incompatible with this mod. It should be noted that placing Nuka-Cola Ojo.esp before the plugin provided on this page will retain the Nuka-Cola machines added by Nuka-Cola Ojo.esp, but this comes at the cost of the animated panel at the top of the machine working correctly. Placing it after this mod's plugin will cause Nuka-Cola machines to become completely inaccessible. As such, it is recommended you disable the plugin provided by Ojo Bueno while this mod is active.

Installation
Download and install the original NV Animated Vending Machines and its update here. Download one of my files, and overwrite the .esp provided in the original mod.

Thanks again to AmaccurzerO for permissions.
