Description and features
__________________________________________________
  • Adds rubber ammo for pistol-caliber guns, shotguns and grenade launchers (obtained via crafting)
  • Adds a stun energy rifle and pistol, a melee and an unarmed weapon (obtained via crafting)
  • KOd targets stay unconscious for ~2 in-game hours and don't "aggro" the player or his base game companions
  • Targets with higher DT and Health will be harder to KO, raise the corresponding weapon skill to compensate
  • Rubber ammo can't KO Abominations, Supermutants, Robots and Power Armor users
  • Stun energy rifle and pistol, the melee and unarmed weapon can KO Robots and Power Armor users (at 75% effectiveness)
  • Player will automatically exit V.A.T.S. once he has KOd a target.
  • Companions can use guns and grenade launchers with rubber ammo, but only if the weapon has bigger base damage as their ranged weapon (somewhat jank, they will not equip stun energy, melee and unarmed weapons)
  • Mod users can manually tweak the effectiveness of rubber ammo and stun weapons via console (instructions are in the misc section)

Plans for future updates
__________________________________________________
  • Implement an .ini for configuration
  • Optional version with Vendor and Leveled List integration
  • Quest edits to allow completion if a target is KOd instead of killed (Wheel of Fortune, for example)
  • Maaaybe implement an event handler for ammo instead of using scripts

Compatibility
__________________________________________________
  • Should be compatible with most mods, edits some DLC NPC records (to allow KOs on them) and one Honest Hearts script (killed NPCs on hit, edited to make KOs possible)
  • There are a patches for Ammo Script Fixes and Real Recoil in the downloads section

Requirements
__________________________________________________
  • Can't remember if I used any NVSE functions, but it's pretty much mandatory to have at this point
  • Honest Hearts and Gun Runner's Arsenal DLCs

Installation
__________________________________________________
  • Download the main file from the download section either through your mod manager or manually.
  • Mod manager install - install your download as any other mod (consult your mod manager's Help or FAQ)
  • Manual install - open the downloaded archive, extract it's contents to your Data directory, overwrite if needed
  • Download and install any patches from the download section, if needed

Uninstalling
__________________________________________________
  • Make sure there are no KOd NPCs  in your save - wait for 3+ hours and check that KOd NPCs are awake to be 100% safe
  • You can also follow this guide to be extra safe - mod removal via a clean save
  • All items that this mod adds will disappear on uninstall
  • Mod manager uninstall - uninstall as any other mod (consult your mod manager's Help or FAQ)
  • Manual uninstall - open your Data directory, delete all the files that are in the archive you used for the manual install
  • Also delete patches for this mod, if you've installed them

Misc
__________________________________________________
  • In order to loot unconscious NPCs - you can use lStewieAl's Tweaks or Unconscious NPCs - Allow Looting
  • To move unconscious NPCs - you can edit the following setting in your FalloutPrefs.ini - bAllowHavokGrabTheLiving=1
  • To manually configure the effectiveness of rubber ammo and stun weapons - open your console (while in-game, press the tilde key "~")
  • Type the following: set stunglobalf to x
  • Now replace x with the desired value - default is 1.0, while 1.1 will make it 10% easier to KO any target and 0.9 will make it 10% harder to KO. Press the "enter" key and exit the console.
  • Experiment, find what works best for you (values are retained in the save file)
  • There is a test container with all of the items this mod adds located in Goodsprings (see screenshots for location)
  • There is a quirk with KOs where if an NPC is playing a reloading / weapon jam  animation they can’t be KOd until it finishes
  • Once per game restart, rubber ammo gets unloaded from your gun - reload and you should be good to go
