* Muzzle smoke - updated (remade to look more realistic) * BONUS! - Water textures included. The Mojave's water is more wavy to fit its lakes and rivers * BONUS! - Sun textures included. Look directly into the sun, its beautiful
Started to use this mod and ironically its got the best sun texture I found that looks consistently good with Desert Natural Weathers .
I am not using anything else that touches the sun either. Oh and my water is great as well, as I noticed others saying its all pixeled in there game.
Its obvious I guess its depending on the combination of mods used together and of course this ageing game engine that's way worse than Skyrim and that's saying something.
This definetly has my vote to go even further with the enhancements (including nifs and such). EVE is fantastastic, but its a compatibility hell to get it to work with large mod lists. Making this the go to effects mod (by including some of the Frontier work) would be amazing
Rather obvious question since you updated EVE. Did you include all this in EVE or do we STILL overwrite everything in EVE with the files in this mod? Just curious.
EXE shares fewer than 20 of it's 120 textures with EVE. It appears that the majority of the textures are identical; however, there are some slight differences--mostly in regards to resolution, in which case most of EVE's textures are superior. As you mentioned, EVE has been updated more recently, so I'm assuming it's a better representation of what the author wants to achieve. With that being said, I'd personally load EVE after EXE, letting EVE overwrite as necessary.
EVE updates, despite being more recent, only pertain to plugin changes, meaning the description of this mod stands correct that EXE has the latest visuals.
Do NOT listen to Ethryr, EVE is a MUST have, there is no better mod for fallout new vegas out there that makes energy weapons look as good as eve does. Also the death animations, u cant compare it to anything else, truely SICK !
EVE is not the most compatible mod without some work and patching, which may or may not be offputting for some, and is straight up apparently not compatible with TTW, if you play that.
Hello weijiesen!! I'm fan of your works especially on Fallout Frontiers and was hoping if you could make a mod packs of similar to EVE like this one, but with Frontiers vfx sfx and such for New Vegas. When playing through Frontiers, some of the plasma based weapon are quite well done indeed and I was wondering if you could make such thing for vanilla New Vegas plasma based weapon like Plasma Rifle. The Frontiers one's you made is almost as good as Fallout 4 plasma visual effect sfx and was hoping you could make it for New Vegas as well, maybe porting ur works from Frontiers into NV as EVE 2 or EVE 2.5 that would be amazing!!
That is true. Frontier's VFX are far beyond anything that EVE, EXE, and IMPACT did. It would take some effort to get Frontier's visuals backported into FNV, but could work as a standalone as you said like a kind of EVE 2.0. You are also right in that the visuals from Frontier were made with the intention of being as good-looking and modern as Fallout 4's.
Never used this for a few reasons but I might as well ask, does this include those awesome Crit Kills with energy weapons that EVE had? Like, when the dude starts going up in a ball of light and them explodes/disintegrates to bones? Also the blood spurt when dismembering peeps?
If that is also on this then I may for once in my life try something other than EvE when it comes to Energy Gun time!
Water Texture Bug (Pixelated / Blocky Water) So I've been messing with trying to get the water to not look like Minecraft water, it seems I'm not the only one that has this issue whereby the water is made up of large squares and looks terrible.
I've found the files that cause it; waterwaves.dds and wastelandwaterpotomac.dds
From reading other posts I edited these files to reduce them from 1024x1024 to 256x256 so the game can handle them, this works and the water looks much better, the blockiness is gone and the reflections are nice... but it's still not right. The flow of the water goes one way and the waves go the other way, plus it's fast, so a still lake looks like a stream. This effect also transfers to puddles so there is a weird effect that small puddles look like they have a flowing current.
I've been playing around with them for a few days and I just cannot get it to look right, it really does seem broken because the vanilla water looks far better except for the reflections which do look much better with EVE. Real shame.
So, if anyone does come up with a fix I'd be interested to know.
Hi ! I saw you commenting on the EXE mod I even have it installed here, but I don't know if it's in the right place. does it have to be above or below mods like Desert Natural, ojo bueno, enhanced blood, IMPACT? he is above these mods and the ones I mentioned were the ones that gave the red stripe in MO2.
Wondering the same thing. I'm assuming it's supposed to be below Enhanced Blood Textures so that the blood textures will overwrite the files needed from the larger pack. Though someone else in the comments said load EBT after EXE.
I'm not sure if I'm missing something, but the mod doesn't cover all the textures it's supposed to. Plasma explosions, flamer fire, and missile explosions aren't affected. I know the mod is still active because it changes barrel fire flames, but the rest aren't changed. Any help would be appreciated!
And yes, I have turned ArchiveInvalidation on and off in MO2-

Since playing TTW I've swapped for Energy Visuals Plus.
