Current features
- Several new modes for the Arena Practice:
- Expansive Practice brings more intense and longer fights, better rewards and optional ability to train your party troops.
- Team Practice strives to deliver even more intense fights while allowing you to fight with your clan heroes as a team.
- Parry Practice is designed to help practice parrying and chamber blocking.
- Ability to fight as a companion in any Arena Practice mode.
- Ability to set up weapon preferences for companions and other clan heroes to use in Arena Practice, helping them train combat skills you want them to train.
- Multiple adjustable arena practice settings. For example, you can set up match length and intensity, number of AI teams, type of defensive equipment used.
- Ability to choose weapon loadout for arena practice fights (idea and some parts of implementation taken from mewhi's Arena Expansion mod).
- List of ongoing tournaments accessible from arena menu (idea and some parts of implementation taken from Operation40's Arena Helper mod).
- Multiple adjustable tournament reward settings, defaults are aimed to keep tournaments rewarding throughout the game, while staying balanced.
- High quality items (fine, masterwork, lordly, etc) as Tournament prizes.
- Ensures that everyone receive all the tournament rewards, regardless if it's player or not. In vanilla, AI was not getting any renown or influence rewards.
- New team-based Tournaments mode (idea and implementation by eg3r - thank you for the contribution!).
- Adjustable XP gain modifier for arena and tournaments.
Compatibility
This mod is compatible with existing save games and can be removed from saves safely.
Mod compatibility
In general, AO is written with maximum compatibility in mind and should work fine most of the mods. Obviously, mods that are overhauling tournaments or arena practice fights can have conflicts due to the close nature of changes. Should be compatible with tournament armor mods.
Known issues
- RBM's Arena/Tournament module has to be disabled.
Installation
Use Vortex mod manager or simply copy the 'ArenaOverhaul' folder into your '..\Mount & Blade II Bannerlord\Modules\' folder! As for mod activation, I suggest that you use BLSE and place my mod somewhere below the official TaleWorlds Modules. This mod requires MCM v5 mod to work, so be sure to install it beforehand.
Your mod order should look like this:
1. Harmony
2. Butterlib
3. UIExtenderEx
4. Mod Configuration Menu v5
...
Official TW Modules
...
Arena Overhaul <--- should be placed somewhere mid to low among in the list, below any Tournament Armor mods
...
Troubleshooting
If you are experiencing any problems:
- Try different mod order, I suggest following this guide
- Check mod .dll files, they might be automatically blocked by Windows
- Using launcher with enhanced mod support, like BUTRLoader or Bannerlord Mod Launcher, may help with both these tasks
If nothing above helps, please, create bug report, providing me information about:
- Mod version and game version
- What you did or what happened before the crash
- Information from game's exception window, if there were any (you can press <ctrl> + <C> in it to copy results to your clipboard)
- Mod log file, if any. It can be found under '..\Mount & Blade II Bannerlord\Modules\ArenaOverhaul\'. It is only created if there were errors in mod functionality.
