Rationale:
I have made the following additions to the rationale of the original mod:
Ash-Fowl
Ash-Fowl meat is described to have a grey colour, and generally being foul. I found dark blood fitting to this narrative.
Aurorans
These Daedra do not have blood, which follows Meridia's idea of perfection.
Ayleid minions (Redeemed servants)
The Ayleid sorcerors have condemned these servants into an eternal semi-alive state by preventing their souls from leaving the body. Their blood has long started drying, giving it a dark colour.
Ayleid Sorceror-Kings
The Ayleid sorcerors have kept themselves alive long after their natural lifespan through dark magicks. This process has made their blood go dark.
Canyon Threshers and Sharai Hoppers
The orange colour matches the skin of these insects. Canyon Threshers even have orange meat, clearly pointing towards orange colour for the blood.
Devourers
Devourers are greater Hunger, but like Ogrim their diet has given their blood a dark colour.
Frost Trolls and Kobolds
Like Rieklings and Grahl, these have blue blood to better thrive in the cold (it also matches their skin better).
Gremlins
Gremlins are related to Goblins, and therefore their blood get a green colour.
Hagravens and Lamia
These are two types of witches that have transformed their bodies through dark rituals (likely involving toxic decoctions). This process has not left them entirely unharmed, making their blood darken.
Herne and Morphoid
These Daedra are greater Scamps, and thus have red blood.
Hoom and Kwoom
These are crustaceans, and should does have blue blood.
Hunting Hounds
These insectoid creatures might be distantly related to Nix-Hounds, but their adaptation to a cold environment has turned their blood blue.
Koglings
According to legend, Koglings awaken when men spill blood under a pine tree. To fit this narrative, I have given them red blood.
Mud Golems
These beings bleed muddy water, hence the dark colour.
Mummies
Like bonewalkers, mummies should still have some nearly dried-up blood remaining in the body.
Muck Leeches and Spikeworms
These worm-like creatures could very well be annelids, and should does have green blood.
Musk Flies and Swamp Flies
These are blood-sucking insects, and have therefore been given red blood.
Ornada, Silt Striders, Water Striders, Plain Striders, Sky Renders
Here I wanted to make a distinction between beetles and most other insects, as well as between insects and crustaceans. Therefore, all these insects have been given green blood. Silt Striders are giant lice, but since they are not bloodsuckers, I think this makes sense also for them.
Skylamps
Shares blood colour with their distant cousins (Netch).
Sload
Sload are giant slugs, and would have gotten pale blood if that was an option. Instead, they are getting the closest match to this.
Snow Rays
Their adaptation to a cold environment has turned their blood blue.
Spiders, Parastylus, and Dridrea
To make a distinction between arachnids and crustaceans, I have given all arachnid-like creatures green blood.
Velk
The Velk's blood is highly concentrated with the nectar that they drink, giving their blood a blue hue.
Vermai and Xivilai
These Daedra are related to Dremora, so they get the same blood colour.
Yeth-Grub
Like all beetles, these have orange blood.
Installation
- Make sure to follow the instructions of the original mod.
- Install the core files, as well as patches for the mods you use (the load order does not matter). Drag and drop into your game folder, or use a mod manager.
- If you have another mod modifying Tamriel_Data creatures, you should also use TESTool to resolve mod conflicts. Alternatively, OpenMW users may use the Delta plugin for this.
What about MWSE Blood Diversity?
That mod is incompatible with this one. It comes with somewhat fancier bloodspats, but my personal take is that it distributes them in a less thoughtful way than Diverse Blood (in particular regarding Daedra which almost all use the same blood type, as well as undead). It is also MWSE exclusive, unlike Diverse Blood which works on both the Vanilla engine and OpenMW. On the other hand, it already has built-in compatibility for some Tamriel_Data creatures, although it has not yet been updated to TD 24.12.
