INTRODUCTION
====================================
Japanese swords and swordsmithing have a long and storied history, stretching from dawn of the iron age to modernity (though, of course, the sword has taken on a more ceremonial role since the arrival of firearms in Japan). The enduring legacy of these traditions are a small stable of sword designs that evolved over the years, from the older tsurugi to the iconic katana. Alongside the changing designs, the art of the creation and wielding of swords became highly formalized, including numerous rituals and offerings alongside the more mundane aspects of steel production and swordplay. Truly, one could spend years in intensive study and still have things left to learn about these legendary weapons.

Thankfully, none of that is relevant to this mod.

DESCRIPTION
====================================
This mod adds two medium-long Japanese-style swords to the game (one steel, one daedric). Essentially, these are just shortened dai-katanas, sitting between the katana and dai-katana in stats. They don't fill any specific gameplay niche and have no secret bonii to make them superior to either the katana or dai-katana, but I hated how sheathed dai-katanas clipped through the Gondolier Helm, so I learned the basics of Blender and made this mod.

Yes, really.

Here are the stats:
+--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------+
|                | Weight | Health | Enchant | Value | Speed | Reach | Chop | Slash | Thrust |
+----------------+--------+--------+---------+-------+-------+-------+------+-------+--------+
|  Steel odachi  |   19   |  2250  |    65   |  170  |  1.4  |  1.0  | 2-24 |  1-20 |  1-10  |
+----------------+--------+--------+---------+-------+-------+-------+------+-------+--------+
| Daedric odachi |   57   |  6000  |   195   | 85000 |  1.4  |  1.0  | 2-52 |  1-46 |  1-22  |
+----------------+--------+--------+---------+-------+-------+-------+------+-------+--------+

Also included are sheathe meshes if you use Weapon Sheathing (hint: you should).

HOW TO GET THE WEAPONS
====================================
Generally, these weapons should spawn anywhere their respective dai-katanas will (ie, the steel odachi should start showing up in merchant inventories around the same time as steel dai-katanas do, and daedric odachis should drop from dremora lords around the same time daedric dai-katanas do). Also, one daedric odachi has been placed somewhere in the upper level of Telasero.

COMPATIBILITY
====================================
This mod should not have any major incompatibilities. It edits the Telasero interior cell, but apart from that the only changes are to leveled lists. Be sure to run TES3Merge to ensure nothing goes missing.

For reference, the following LEVIs are edited:

aa_trader_weapons_vanilla
l_n_wpn_melee_long blade
random excellent melee weapon
random_daedric_weapon
random_Steel_weapon
random_weapon_melee_basic

Also edited are:
CELL: Telasero, Upper level
CONT: test_crate_all_weapons

REQUIREMENTS
====================================
The base game and both expansions
Wares Ultimate

OPTIONAL BUT RECOMMENDED:
Weapons:
The Assassin's Arsenal (more eastern-style weapons, plus off-hand wakizashi/katana)
Oriental Mesh Improvements (upgraded models for vanilla samurai swords)
Oriental Ebony Weapons (adds ebony tanto/wakizashi/katana/dai-katana)
Oriental Dwarven Weapons (as above but dwarven this time)
Weapon Expansion Project ( adds "missing" weapon types to all materials so that everything is available in silver, iron, chitin, glass, etc. Lower polycount than the above, but more complete.)

Armor/Clothing:
Jangasa Hats (extra hats in the style of the Gondolier's Helm)
Indoril Ronin (adds a top-tier armor set and an ebony naginata-esque polearm)
The robe worn in the screenshots can be found in Hilgya the Seamstress for Wares (I have edited the mesh for personal use); there are also versions available from an NPC in Flowers of Gold if one installs Exiles of Akavir

Other:
Stuporstar's Tea Mod (adds teapots and teas)
Weapon Sheathing (adds weapon sheathes for unreadied weapons)

Shameless self-promotion:
Book of Circles (if your samurai/ronin is a Redguard and/or you can feel them becoming an Ansei)

INSTALLATION
====================================
Unpack the files to your Data Files directory (located in the same folder as Morrowind.exe) and enable the .esp. Don't forget to run TES3Merge after installation!
