Friends! The vote to add a poor people's area in Balmora continues. This will be a new area with a download screen, meaning it will not affect performance in any way, even if you use Balmirak. By the way, this plugin is in perfect harmony with Balmora The Awakening, and there is already a patch for it. So put a + in the comments if you want to add a new district!
P.S. The patch for Ashlander Traders is done P.P.S. The patch for Ashlander Traders+Balmirak is done
Love the clutter this mod adds, it ALMOST matches up with my list, it's got clutter interfering with the belltowers of balmora mod and the Brevur of Balmora mods is it possible to get a small patch to fix those plz? also as far as I can tell this mod matches up really well with Kilcunda's Balmora mod, this adds in nice clutter and that one adds in more to the waterfront without shifting all the buildings like waterworks does The only clutter suggestion I'd make would be some street covers like some middle eastern cities of Istanbul do it, with the carpets or gaur hide covers over the tighter streets between buildings And the covers on top of some of the towers make no sense since nobody can get up to them anyways, just sticks out as random clutter and not logical Otherwise this mod and the others you've made add in some fantastic lived in clutter to cities, really breathes fresh lived in life to them thank you
Hello! First off I am certainly a + for the new area!
Secondly, thank you so, so much for an amazing mod. It's the best vanilla friendly Balmora remake out there by far. I am starting a new Morrowind game (first since 2014--I tried coming back to the game in 2019 but never actually played) and I am going to use a bunch of your town overhauls.
I wanted to sort of lay out (based on the comments below) my understanding of what mods this is compatible with, because despite Balmora being one of the most heavily modded areas in the game, your mod seems to be compatible with a lot of other mods. From the comments and some testing, it is compatible with Balmirak, Balmora Docks District, and Stonewood Pass Reworked right out of the box (haven't tested that last one but given that SPR is compatible with more extensive Balmora expansions it should be with this too). I also see from a comment below that it basically works with Stav's Boxes - Mages Guild, and, incredibly, that it's pretty much compatible with Kilcunda's Balmora (minor issues; I don't use that personally). If that weren't enough, you've also made a patch for Brother Juniper's Ashlander Traders Remastered, which is great! Given that you don't change interiors, I would imagine this should also be compatible with any interior overhauls for Balmora?
Are there any other mods I missed that are compatible? The only other bigger mod that might compliment yours that I'm not sure about is Balmora Waterworks. It's a neat design choice and could work really well with Balmora the Awakening.
Also, do you make any landscape edits?
Anyway, sorry for the long post, but again, thanks for all of the beautiful town overhauls!
+ I tried this with Kilcunda's Balmora, Stav's Boxes - Mages Guild Aesthetics Overhaul and Balmora Docks Districts btw! They MOSTLY all work in conjunction with one another, surprisingly! I had to actually really look for any texture overlaps. Just a few double overhangs, and a couple of clipping lanterns because of it, with Kilcunda's Balmora. And the bridge outside the front entrance gets wonky with the fence around it.
With Stav's Boxes, the rope holding the blue lantern that hangs on the front of mages guild is just slightly separated from the wood peg! Barely noticeable, otherwise it works wells and looks freaking awesome with your lanterns.
With Balmora Docks District, there's just a couple of clipping trees from your mod! For the most part not too glaringly obvious.
I know JoiRor is planning to make Balmirak compatible with Kilcunda's Balmora sometime soon, and I think it would be great if this mod was included as well! I look forward to everything you make!
Very nice looking mod, but it kills my FPS in Balmora, needs better optimization; perhaps merge some of the purely decorative clutter items into a single mesh, or something. Also perhaps get rid of the animated trees--they look a bit out of place imho (I don't have any other animated trees anywhere), and they probably don't help performance either.
Yeah I love all her mods and would use 90% of them but the fps hit (even when not using any texture mods whatsoever) makes me need to uninstall them :( :( :( :( Agree the trees seem to have a glitch with the leaves going crazy for a few seconds when entering balmora.
This is the most vanilla friendly Balmora mod I could find. Its ads tiny little details, turns the city to look like its lived in, without anything over the top or without changing it...at all. Purist friendly imo. Great job.
Loading this mod up and walking around Balmora I was giggling like an idiot. It just feels...nice and it's implemented in such a way that it allowed the few mods I have in Balmora to just slot into place.
There was some mild framerate issues even without shaders but putting that down to running on a potato. In short nice mod and certainly for me right now the version of Balmora I like the most. It feels like the Hlaluu Capital.
One last point. The Yellow trees that have been used are really noticeable as not being present anywhere else in the nearby area as a result theres a mild pull out element. I personally would like to see them replaced with trees that more fit the local climate. In particular the one you have placed near the Silt Strider is really noticeable as it stands out against all the leafless trees that are behind it which is what made me realise this.
An interesting way of doing it would be an underground slum following the line of the hill on the east side of town, as if it is an abandoned mine with makeshift rooms. It could be seedy or desperate living conditions then, and it really shows Hlaalu indifference to poverty and extortion.

EDIT: I believe this mod is also compatible with Brevur of Balmora!
