Since installing the update with the art of alchemy patch none of the pearls can be ground anymore except for the basic pearl. They worked fine before the patch. The other gems work as they should.
Edit: Actually, having just checked it (setting my alchemy to 200 and spawning myself a secret master mortar and pestle) it's not possible to grind the ingrediants from shinies. They only show up in the inventory menu as non-ediable and cannot be consumed.
I did some further investigation and I think it's actually a problem with Art of Alchemy in general as none of the TR ingredients work correct. I've reported it as a bug on that mod's page but it hasn't been replied to yet.
But the shinies ingredients cannot be ground or used in the base form with the patch installed. I have no idea if it's to do with the patch or the problems with Art of Alchemy.
I use lustrous pearls since it adds rare pearl to use in the dwemer beam blade mod. Can you make a version of this mod without the pearl change or make one compatible with dwemer beam blades?
I need to update Shinies to play nicely with Lustrious Pearls :( I'm sorry updates are very slow, I'll do this one right now.
All right, done! All the old pearls are gone to make room for lustrous pearls. Did some general cleaning and tweaking. Recommended on a new game (though you can get away with cleaning your saved game)
Does MO2 auto merge leveled lists and objects? I'm new and I love the idea of this mod but funking around with leveled lists after the pain of just finally getting MW in a modded functional state seems too much, for now
MO2 doesn't but you can add programs to MO2 so that you may launch them from it. You want to download tes3merge ? Unzip it in Morrowind/tes3merge Add it to MO2 (i.e modify executables, +, add from file, navigate to tes3merge.exe and select it, apply) Run it Activate merged object.esp that it created This will merge both your objects and your levelled lists.
not sure if its working. I merged the core and used vanilla esp then "Just fix it" in the testool but never got all the right pearls from the kollops and havent seen any gems yet or runes. should i have done merged leveled lists and objects instead? From what i understand it does both already
Yes, you need to merge your levelled lists too. In fact, You always need to merge your levelled lists AND your Objects.
tes3merge for objects > it knows to merge more things than testool, is still supported and developed and so much faster than testool. tes3cmd > create multipatch (i.e merged levelled lists + some fixes ) > also great for cleaning, it will catch things testool missed OR Wrye Mash > create mashed lists i.e levelled lists. Testool cleans mods (still good, catches things tes3cmd misses), merges objects (vastly inferior to tes3merge) and merges dialogues (not recommended)
thanks. I tried it again on the same save with a direct leveled lists and objects and went to new areas, however my same issue still came up with pearls where i still get base game pearls most of the time. will try the tools you posted but i might have broken something on my end unfortunately. guess i might have to try again from a clean backup of mods and save file.
It looks like your patch for ST Alchemy is for the 1.4 version. However, while it hasn't been released on stuporstar's site, they did release a version 1.5 that makes a number of major changes. (It was recently linked at the Morrowind Modding Discord channel). Would it be possible for you to update your patch for 1.5, to ensure no conflicts between ingredients added by STA and TR? Thanks!
I'm primarily interested in the integration of TR's gems into the base game + expansions. Is this something accomplished by Wares, or would a separate file have to be made for Shinies? The other features in the latter look great, but it's just the one that I'm really hoping to add to my install.
Oh? the version from Stuporstar's website is 1.4. The ingredeints I removed were: coal, charcoal, amethyst, lich dust, opan, raw silver (TR has silver ore), saphire and spider silk.
(I downloaded the 1.5 version via the link provided in the sticky in RandomPal's alchemy vendors restock mod: https://www.nexusmods.com/morrowind/mods/46105?tab=posts)

I'll update asap.
EDIT Hang on, Shinies does not add the pearls and the patch I gave does not add pearls from MD's mod, only gems from this mod.
Can you check the ID of the pearl you cannot grind and get back to me?
