Features

The mod enhances exploration for spellcasters by adding cantrips, spell-teaching books, and one-use runestones as magical loot, making discoveries more rewarding for magic-focused players.

There is something for everyone, in a way that is fun and balanced:
- inapt spellcasters have a few simple spells at their disposal but cannot "grind" their magic skills with the cantrips.
- proficient spellcaster may learn advanced spells from spellbooks.
- anyone can enjoy a powerful weapon or ally for a while if they are lucky enough to find a rune. They won't make money out of it though.

Read cantrips scrolls to learn cantrips.
  • Cantrips are simple spells that never fail but cost more magicka. (see image for details)
  • Casting cantrips does not improve skills.
  • Cantrips can be found at enchanters and as loot on some classes (requires Wares_npcs)

Read Spellbooks to learn spells
  • Read the book to learn the spell.
  • The more powerful the spell, the more magicka is required to decipher the book.
  • The more powerful the spell, the more valuable the spellbook.
  • Spellbooks teach vanilla spells (including some that cannot be bought)
  • Spellbooks might appear at enchanters' and booksellers' but will primarily be found on the body of spellcasters (requires Wares_npcs) and where wizards' books are found.

Use Daedric Runes to summon objects and creatures from Oblivion
  • Runes stones are basically scrolls with a bound or summon spell that lasts a whole 10 minutes.
  • They have zero value - you may use them or collect them (there are 26, for each letter of the Daedric Alphabet)
  • They can be found in Daedric ruins, on the corpses of (nefarious) spellcasters
  • With Creatures and Critters, some Daedra can also drop a Runestone.

How is this different from Cantrips, Lootable Spellbooks, and Shinies?
        Cantrips
  • Cantrips can be learnt by anyone regardless of their skill now
  • Cantrips are distributed through Wares so NPCs can have them as loot
  • Cantrips scrolls are worth 50 septims (100 in the original mod)
Lootable Spellbooks
  • Spellbooks have minimum magicka requirement now
  • Spellbooks are more expensive to buy (and sell).
  • Spellbooks are pocketbooks (half the size of other books)
  • Powerful spells cast by creatures/NPCs can only be obtained by looting creatures/npcs (25% chance)
  • Spellbooks have different covers, illustrations, and icons based on their school of magic.
  • Lootable Spellsbooks has a book for every spell, I (only) kept 300+, removing the strong, wild, dread, etc variants of spells.
Shinies
  • Runes were ingredients bought from alchemists. The latest version of Shinies does not have Runestones, but you can use the original Rune mod (see optional files and original read me for details)
All 3 mods are updated for the latest Wares Ultimate and TD so you can mix and match to your liking.

Installation
  • be sure to merge your lists and objects
  • not compatible with Cantrips
  • not compatible with Lootable Spellbooks. (including Sei's edit)
  • compatible with Arcana of Magic - Lootable Spells.
