Edits the choice of saving the council to where the player can only save the council if enough assignments from Hackett are completed. This mod is best installed before you gain control of the Normandy to maximize the points you can earn.

Installation Instructions:

  •  Download with mod Manager
  • Import Mod
  • apply mod
  • select difficulty from the drop down menu
  • click "install"


The Premise and how the mod works.

The premise is that if Hackett had to expend Alliance resources to take care of these assignments, there would be less available to defend the Ascension, along with everyone on board including the council, much like how the player starts in ME 3 with less War assets if they didn't complete the Arrival DLC. It also felt weird that there was no barrier to saving the council when there was a barrier to saving Wrex on Virmire. 

This mod works by assigning a point value to each of the missions that Hackett gives you [or just ones that benefit the Alliance] and how many points you have when Joker asks you whether you want to save the Ascension or not will determine if you have the option to save the Ascension. Some will be worth more than others and some will have points determined by the result. Causing more work for the Alliance [like punching reporters leading them to having to do damage control] results in losing points. On missions where there is a debrief that is where the points are awarded. 








The Points system and difficulty settings:

There are 3 difficulties with different requirements of how many points you need to save the council.The difficulties do not affect how many points each mission grants even though I considered it.

Easy, Moderate and Hard mode. You can change this by reapplying the mod at any point before you trigger the conversation in which Joker asks what to do. I might, in a future update once I get better at modding, make it so that it can be changed in the pause menu but I'm not anywhere near that skill level yet

In order to save the council you need: Easy mode you need at least 23 points, Moderate you need at least 32, Hard mode you need 40.

The highest possible amount of points is 50 points. See the Article for a breakdown of the missions and the point systems.
