Counter attack after blocking, with semi-new animation. Supports first person/third person/keyboard/gamepad/NPCs. Hard requirement: F4SE, Soft requirement: SPID (for NPCs).

Counter attack after blocking, with semi-new animation. Supports first person/third person/keyboard/gamepad/NPCs. Hard requirement: F4SE, Soft requirement: SPID (for NPCs).
(Semi-new animations means edited existing animations for NPCs, non-rotation, non-backward movement version of "Attack180Behind". For first person, edited sprint attack animations are used.)

  • After blocking, a normal melee attack within 0.15 seconds will trigger a perfect counter attack, dealing double damage like a power attack. When current AP is below AP Cost, counter attacks can still be triggered but perfect counter attacks are disabled.
  • If within 0.3 seconds, it will trigger a normal counter attack. Both counter attacks will consume AP. (Very Fast/Fast =10 AP, Medium = 15 AP, Slow = 20 AP).
  • When a counter attack is blocked, it deals half its AP cost as AP damage and plays the block hit recoil animation. Note: The video doesn't show this as it's a bit old.
  • Counter attacks are sweep attacks that hit multiple targets.
  • Perfect counter attack deals +1 stagger magnitude, except for "VERYFAST/FAST" speed weapons.
  • NPCs have a chance to counter attack (NPCs = 20%, Companions = 30%), and their counter attacks are always treated as perfect counter attacks, AP is consumed normally but damage mult is forced to 2x.
  • Added "[Settings] Guard Counter" holotape to chemistry station and player's inventory. See image for available options.

This mod doesn't edit anything that already exists.
Compatible with Blocking OverhaulMelee hold block.

[Known Issues]
The combat AI is smart enough to block counter attacks. I'm trying to make the counter attacks have an advantage over their blocking, but so far I don't have any ideas that work.
Currently it works as follows: When a counter attack is blocked, it deals half its AP cost as AP damage and plays the block hit recoil animation.

I'm hoping to get some feedback from you guys from actual gameplay
This mod doesn't catch people's attention
And "Guard Counter" seems to be a more specific and suitable term
I didn't earn any donation points from the original mod and it only had about 300 downloads so there shouldn't be any problem. In detail: On the original mod, I received 307 Unique DLs, 18 Endorsements, 3 compliments, 1 question, and only 1 suggestion in one month. That's enough reason for me to want to re-upload the original mod instead of updating it.
