A realism mod

The "Range" stat on a weapon in Fallout 4 is not the maximum range it can shoot. It is the maximum range it can shoot and do maximum damage. After a bullet exceeds the range stated in its weapons stats, its damage is significantly and un-realistically reduced. This plugin fixes that. With this plugin, a gun that does X "Damage" will do X damage whether you shoot someone point-blank with it or hit them from 100 yards - such as in real-life ballistics. It does not alter the maximum range in which bullets will travel on the map before disappearing - someone already made a mod for that (Longer Range Projectiles by oblspad). Similarly, it does not alter the accuracy of weapons. If you want more realistic firefights, this plugin is for you.

Light plugin, no scripts. Just changes the "OutOfRange multiplier" value for weapons to 1 (1x damage applied after range exceeded as opposed to 0.5-0.7x in vanilla). I did not touch values for shotguns, flamethrower, grenades, mines, or melee-weapons. I kept it real. Make sure it is at the end of your load order if you're using other mods that alter weapons. Let me know if you want to see weapons from other mods added. Patches for DLC weapons will be added soon!

Possible Incompatibilities:
  • Does not currently support DLC weapons - modular patches coming soon!
  • Mods that add new weapons - ask for patches!
  • (Unbogus Ranged by EthicalLune) is a great mod. However, it alters the "OutOfRange multiplier" value from some guns such as this mod does. I found it does not alter the value enough to eliminate the damage reduction post-range so I made this mod as a standalone fix. If you are using both mods, make sure to run Increase Weapon Range below in your load order. Set it to a number that is larger than the load order number of Unbogus Ranged so that the values are changed correctly.
