I initially used this mod of yours and it worked perfectly, except for a few stutters near diamond city (could very well be due to me playing with increased spawns/hi-res textures, etc). I had to switch to PRP Lite though since I also have Point Lookout (Boston FPS - PRP still had the messed up University Point previs, and it also conflicted with Point Lookout's dock), and it works. I only needed to make a few load order changes + download a few stuff to switch to this.
...and this mod is just amazing. For some reason, I've actually gained more FPS with this one and walking around the Fens area was now smoother, maybe due to the fact that some exterior stuff were removed/worldspace edits (to make way for The Hole). Also, I love the way this mod improves the outskirts better than the last (thanks to the addition of The Hole, the junkyard area wasn't useless anymore, and the rear side of the Fen's Sheriff dept now looks more secure which makes sense. I especially love the huge barrier near police precinct 8.)
To say the least, although it might be daunting to download this initially due to the amount of add-ons, it's actually pretty stable and great performance-wise (even better, if I may say so myself)
Is the Exo-patch for Diamond City Expansion recommended, not recommended/not needed, or a hard conflict? UPDATE: I used the Exo-patch, but haven't gone into those areas. You CANNOT use the included previs patch - game crashes on load. I will update when I have looked over the new areas. I followed your LO and used most of the mods you mentioned, including all the stuff for Hangman's. Your patch for Elianora's stuff isn't made for the newest iteration of her mod, but I believe she uses injection now and the outside of the shop was altered so doesn't seem to conflict with anything anymore. I also use a DC settlement mod - which I have used in conjunction with other DC mods before - and it works perfectly with your LO. I set it after all the DC mods but just before the Hangman's stuff.
Glitch: The only one I have is when you stand inside that small cut-through by the police station, if you look in either direction you see through the buildings when you look straight-on. Both directions; DC disappears in that direction, and the Library disappears in the other, but ONLY when you are standing inside that tiny exterior 'hallway'. That being said, the fact that I installed 15+ mods at the same time and that's the only weirdness I have, I'd say you deserve a big fat Kudos!
So in the entrance to Diamond City the left and right are both blocked off by walls is this correct? The door to the "Administrative Offices" is blocked off as well as the door to "Storage" is this correct?
Nope. That would include making a patch which includes previs. At that point, it would only work with the specific mods for which previs was included. So I'd have to make multiple patches in hopes of covering multiple configurations which players might have. That would naturally have a person requesting a different configuration within a week.
The current page all work simply through load order and without requiring a previs patch. A person may leave out any of the mods I list without breaking the area.
Plus, I don't run SS2. It would break my Sanctuary, Concord, and who knows what other areas or settlements. Also, I have no interest in running thuggy mods.
thank you so much for your detailed description regarding the load order of all the mods altering DC! Why?
Well, you've drawn my attention to the absolutely outstanding mod "The Great Green Jewel" from Awarhero!! This revision of DC is the absolute best thing I've ever seen for this city!!
I even uninstalled the "DC Expansion" mod because of it. I will never use it again because it is extremely complicated to reconcile all the patches for "FSD", "SS2", etc.
In the future I only want to use the mod from Awarhero for DC as well as "FSD" and "SS2". With your mod "4estGimp - AWARHERO GGJ NoDCOffice NoExterior" you have made it compatible with "FSD" - thank you very much for that!!
Unfortunately you wrote the mod in such a way that all the beautifully designed outdoor areas of the mod "GGJ" are not loaded... :-(
Could you imagine changing your mod like that or creating another mod that is compatible with "FSD" and can also display the outdoor areas of the mod "The Great Green Jewel" from Awarhero???
THAT would be the absolute icing on the cake! Thank you very much for reading and for your efforts in advance!!! Best regards!
When Pig was making LB he was looking for a place to tie-in a hallway and door to the DC Security office. He put the door on a wall that only had some lockers. So his mod should not have any problems. I"m not certain about load order but would start with it just above Fourville.
Is slight stuttering just normal with all these mods? I don't have anything flipping in and out of existence, I don't run PRP or even Boston fps fix (It doesn't help me any) my draw calls according to ENB when I experience the stutters are 4000-5000 sometimes even 3000. Or is it possible these issues stem from my LO and I need to tweak it a bit more. FPS is locked at 60, stutters range from 45 to 50 fps and recover quickly but I can't stand the stuttering. Ty for any help and big ty 4est for this lil collection of great mods
If you are running next gen then the stutters are from it causing too much dynamic face generation. This group of mods is intended to use Boston FPS Fix though. If you have most of the collection, they may still work. However, my version of "The Hole" should not win any worldspace conflicts in xEdit. In game, type TPC in console and hit ENTER. Then do it again. The second time should mention preculling enable but should not say "... but disabled for this area". That would mean you have broken previs/precomb in the area.
I’m on last gen. I did the TPC thing I seen you mention it in another post on some other mod lol. I got no errors turning it on or off. I’ll play with my LO (Vortex makes it annoying) I don’t run X-cell or anything either. Thank you for the response and the mods :)
Just posted on the old version of this cause I'm an idiot who didn't even check for a new version.
Anyway, I've been away from FO4 for a few years, but I was hoping to get back into it and build up a nice hefty load order. I'm really out of the loop on all of the new stability stuff, so I'm hoping someone can help me understand what I do and don't need to get everything as stable as possible, and also honestly just even what a lot of this stuff actually does.
Basically, this list seems like the perfect fix specifically for the Diamond City/Downtown Boston area, and it has pretty much all the mods I'd want for those parts of the game anyway. But I also want to install a bunch of mods that change most of the rest of the map too, and everything I'm reading seems to suggest that if I want those areas to be stable and play nicely together, I need PRP. I'll be honest, I'm not even 100% what PRP actually does. I know it says it fixes precombines broken by mods, but that might as well be Swahili to me. I don't actually know what a precombine is. All I can really discern is that a lot of mods break the precombines, which is bad, and that PRP and the various patches for those mods fix those, which improves performance and helps prevent crashes. I'm not even 100% sure if that's accurate.
Anyway, that brings me to this list. This list is great. I can actually fully understand what I'm supposed to do, what the list proports to achieve, and why I'd want to follow it. But the issue I'm having is that it claims to be incompatible with PRP. So the part I'm not fully understanding is, if I follow this list, what about all the other mods in my load order that break the precombines in other parts of the map? Do I have to choose between stability in the downtown area or stability for those other mods? Do I even need PRP in the first place? If I do, is it at all possible to jury rig the two together somehow?
One thing I really hope I've conveyed here is my extreme confusion. I know these might be frustrating questions to people who know how all this works, but honestly, my head hurts, and it would be really great if someone could clear any of this up for me, because I'd really like to eventually get to actually play the game again at some point, and it would also be kinda nice if I managed to get it to not implode every 5 minutes because I couldn't figure out how to install the current stability mods.
The more location mods you install, the HARDER it is to run PRP. All those locations will require patches and any time PRP updates, they will require new PRP patches.
Modders in general, cling to some key words in odd ways. They see the "precombine fix" and think it is something they need to install for a load order which is broken. They have a bad load order, ask why the area has items going invisible and somebody replies, "you have broken precombines. Here, install this fix".
Typically, they can just change their Load Order and the location is "fixed". It's as if this never occurs to most people because they want to believe a fix is required to be installed.
Load Boston FPS fix 75% down your load order. (Ha - damnit used the word fix again.) I linked the specific version and slight update patch. Then mods which remake locations go VERY low in your load order.
Reference my personal modlist spreadsheet which is linked near the top the main page of this mod . There are many location mods and you can see example of load order for them. The color code for the spreadsheet is in the upper right.
Holy s#*! this is amazing thank you so much for your time in compiling all this together! As much as I loved the location and atmosphere, I never built more than 3-7 huts/shacks in Hangman's Alley in any of my playthroughs before, until coming across this work of art!
Sorry for the walls of text especially since I'm sure real life keeps you busy as it is, but just had 4 [hopefully] quick questions for posterity (for fellow FO4 modding noobs):
1. Is this compatible with the Goodneighbor overhaul by MisterNumbers, assuming the load order from the description is adhered to in tandem with the load order requirements for your Fens Empire? Normally I'd avoid this question but they affect completely different areas of the map 2. Is this compatible with the Minutemen eXopatch? The reason I'm asking is because the description for that page states the following:
Incorporates Eli's Outfits into the We Are The Minutemen Leveled List. (Will work with 4estGimp's version of the mod too)
3. Since it also affects another area of the map like MisterNumbers GNO, is this compatible with Sniper306's Covenant Overhaul? 4. In the description, you explicitly mentioned NOT to use PRP with this list unless it's loaded above. Does that mean it will work with the listed versions of Boston FPS Fix as long as they load where you said to make them load (i.e. between The Hole (REDUX) and Wasteland Illumination)?
1 & 3. They really should have no interaction. 2. My list is for old Eli's. I'm not really into the new set. I run Better Settlers and the CCAP which integrates it into settler outfits but doesn't really make changes for MM. I don't know what Exo's does or which Eli's he is patching. 4. Yes, I have the old school Boston FPS in a specific spot and it works fine.
