About this mod

Page dedicated towards adding more nuance and gameplay for the Children of Atom in an immersive and balanced way for Horizon. An overhaul patch, stand-alone patches, and references for CoA mods and Horizon.

Requirements
Permissions and credits
As you enter this space, allow the spirit of Atom to fill you. Blessed be, those who stand in His Glorious Light and welcome Division.

Brothers and sisters, I bring you the The Great Repository of Horizon and Children of Atom mods, for His glory and our immersion.

For those of great faith I bring you an overhaul mod. It has two hard requirements and brings great glory to our cause. For those who would reject Atom's path there is still much to embrace as the player will interact with our fellow devotees in a different way.

Yay, the Church of Atom bolsters and protects our ranks. New piecemeal armor that brings leather, metal, and raider modifications. Full suits - heavy but offer good protection. Ingestibles of various strength and purpose. All of this found on our brothers and sisters in the field. The ingestibles can be made and the armor fabricated. (Gamma Walker and Dread Inquisitor armor can only be made with Marine armor pieces and are not found on NPCs.)

Brother Micolav has granted his Uradium rifle to aid in our quest for glory ( as per his open permission). This will be found on our elite members and will be chambered in .556. This too can be crafted.

Settlements can be built in Atom's name - as you give to Atom so does Atom give back. Children of Atom Settlers allows us to build a place to pray and donate, that which calls in settlers of the Glow. The donation value has been augmented greatly as Desolation mode makes high value of nuclear material. The list of items has been expanded to include Nuke mines and grenades.

For our brothers and sisters of Far Harbor, the Inquisitor's Cowl has been properly upgraded to include head and radiation protection, as some of us have not been born with the gift to fully embrace his penetrating glow. The Cowl and Robes are a work in progress as I add balanced and immersive effects.

For our brothers and sisters South of the Sea, we see to it they are similarly outfitted and supplied.

For proper worship of Atom we have His Glorious Perk. Bloody Mess and Life Giver have traded places and changed names, both requiring 3 Endurance and 3 Luck, respectively. As our faith grows, so does Atom's nourishment and protection. The perk also plays a role in item effect and may expand in various ways.
Bloody Mess has been changed to Violent Tendencies, and gives 10% more melee damage, plus the bloody mess. I may add to this perk as well as time goes on.

Those who would embrace this mod:

Anyone that wants the CoA more fleshed out. Whether you role play as a CoA or not. They will be more formidable with greater nuance and this will not interfere with non-CoA roleplaying.

Those who would reject:

Heretics and blasphemers

Will conflict with Vanilla Fallout:

- LLI_ChildrenOfAtom_Clothes

Will conflict with Horizon's:

- Leveled NPC for Children of Atom (LCharChildrenofAtom) ( also Vanilla)
- CoA weapons (LH_WeaponList_ChildOfAtom_Firearms_Standard)
- CoA inventory items  (LLA_ChildrenOfAtom_Standard)
- Radium Rifle - Weapon ( Also Vanilla)
- DLC03_LL_RadiumRifle_Rifle_SemiAuto
- DLC03_LL_RadiumRifle_ShortRifle_SemiAuto

V 1.0

- update armor for 1.9
- general tweaks and refinement for balancing
- NPC leveled lists more refined. There are three main tiers of NPCs. Each have different inventory, weapons, and armor.
- NPC stats for 1.9
- Scrapping lists are handled by Zaw's Quest script so nothing will conflict (all armors and weapons)
- Armor is better set up in the Equipment Workbench
- Weapons are craftable
- CoA settlers have backpacks now (woohoo!)
- Building the alter now requires Atom's perk
- Radium rifle - now uses .38/.45 ammo menu, radiation damage on receiver lessened with barrel attachments adding the bulk of rad damage. Created short, long, and ported 'no rad' barrels. Ballistic damage now in line with comparable gun
- Including Micolav's Uradium Rifle by the grace of Micolav himself and Atom's light ( he has permissions set for open use). This will take the place of the Radium Rifle's carbine status (.30/.556/.762 ammo menu) and will show up on the higher ranking Children of Atom and come with .556 as default. (Standalone patch available here as well)

V 1.1

- Removed the Children of Atom perks from the perk menu. Added it to the Sigil of Atom. Perk menu is back to normal
- There're a couple items in the cooking station that still need proper updating. They'll require the Life Giver perk. Just saw this in game. Nothing major.

V 1.1.1

- Fixed the recipe and the ingestible. Update as normal.

V 1.1.2

- Better crafting recipe organization in the workbenches. Removed a master that was on there accidently. Added back a missing Uradium rifle texture file . Update as normal.

V 1.1.3

- Leveled Lists updated for South of the Sea
- Leveled Lists updated for Atom's Glory Threads
- Added Child Of Atom Executioner NPC - Has weapon list, armor, etc.
- Minor tweaks to recipes
- removed / fixed the Life Giver Perk

In progress...

- South of the Sea patching.
- Atom's Glory Threads patching.
- Jkruse05's Generic Radium Rifle will be integrated into the single patch and added to Scavenger leveled lists and low ranking CoA, plus a standalone patch. Thank you Jkruse!

Coming up...

- Looking into other weapons to add that are worthwhile
- Building out more to Kingsport Lighthouse and the nearby crater
- Make more accessible getting in faction with CoA so you don't NEED to go through the Far Harbor quests
- Looking into Radical - COA Addons

Gurutar has a South of the Sea patch. It's not going to be worked in like I have my Church of Atom patched but if you want it to be functional and patched, this works but I have not played it. Items are not set to "no respawn" and the SotS specific items are removed.  I'm going to patch this but it will take time.

Below are a list of mods that will supplement our quest for Atom's Glory. (No patch needed unless mentioned)

Children of Atom Settlers - Hard requirement for the single mod. Technically doesn't need patching but the donation cost is way too high for Horizon, especially Desolation Mode.
Church of Atom - Hard requirement for the single mod
Inquisitor's Quarters for the Nucleus - May or may not be considered out of balance as is. I find it well enough.
Children of Atom Safehouse - Map marker is already present upon game start so may not be considered fair or balanced. Ample loot is easily obtained.
Children of Atom Glowing Banners
Children of Atom Decorations Unlocked (Already accounted for in the single mod)
Varied Children of Atom (varied faces)
Diverse Children of Atom (varied faces) (needs a patch to be used with Varied Children of Atom, which I have here)
Glowing Children of Atom Marine Armor
EOL's Children of Atom Decor (Sub patch is here. Some of the recipes required too costly of ingredients and they're unlocked for immediate use)
Radium Rifle Reload Animation
Power Radium Rifle (sound replacer option 1)
Radium Rifle Audio Overhaul (sound replacer option 2)

Please offer any and all feedback you see fit but know that my modding ability is limited.

Some notes:

- Dreadnaught and Gammawalker suits have Marine pieces so I'm keeping that as lore friendly as possible and don't want that showing up in the Commonwealth. Currently doesn't show up on our Far Harbor brothers and sisters.

- The Church of Atom items required some thought and testing to make balanced as they were wildly out of balance for Horizon.

- Stalker suit takes up a torso, arm, and leg slot. Trying out this unorthodox approach to an armor set.

- The Ashland armor will be upgradable as per leather, metal, or raider armor, depending on the piece. The visual will not change but stats will. The right leg is not a standard piece of armor, as you will see. You may want to use a different right leg.

- Atom's perk may expand and change as needed and according to feedback. I will be figuring out how to work this into the Settlers mod to boost donation value of items. The mod already boosts donations value as you complete Far Harbor CoA quests.

- Re: Donation value: One settler = a fusion core, a nuka mine or grenade (should), about 8 nuclear material (less for 1.9), 90 fusion cells, 20 gamma cells. I've noticed that there is an approximation so it's give or take on the smaller items.

- CoA NPCs will have no defense, light defense, or heavy defense and be more proficient in combat. There are two new higher ranking NPCs

- CoA settlers have armor in line with Horizon settler mechanics but I can't get them to offer a change equipment option like normal settlers. I made new forms for settler armor that can be crafted in the proper workbench that come in full packages of: no defense, partial (25 DR), or full (50DR).

- CoA settlers will arrive with various items of various value making it more worthy of the donation cost.

- No vendor leveled lists have been touched and there is no script injection as of now.

- Only three leveled lists have been touched and I've made many new ones in accordance with Horizon methodology. Leveled NPC for Children of Atom, CoA weapons, CoA inventory items.

- Disciple pieces have been added to NPC outfits to bring some extra flavor. I only used the ones that look decent, blend well with the Ashland pieces, and changed their name to "Cultist".
