95% of all problems are one of the following: * Not installed the latest update of the mod you want it to work with (like FallUI Inventory, FallUI HUD, Complex Sorter) * Some file is overwritten by another mod (in most cases something is overwriting HUDMenu.swf, PipboyMenu.swf or Pipboy_InvPage.swf) * (Vortex only) Missing files: At some times Vortex fails to install a file, but a simple uninstall + fresh install fixes this!
Do i need an ESP?
Spoiler:

That depends on your preferred installation mode. In light mode you have no ESP. Just install it and it will already show icon tags! In basic mode you have a simple INNR-only ESP for nicer naming and more correct tags. In pro mode you will generate your own individual perfect fitting item sorting patch with Complex Sorter.
How to remove "show components" feature below item name? It feels like cheating and also clutters the Interface in general. People are saying that both - for Inventory and for HUD - Item sorter is doing that feature. So i thought it could be possible to turn it off, anyone knows how?
EDIT: Omg, i spent 60-90 minutes looking for that option on my own and couldnt find it. And now when in this comment section i asked for help, i suddenly found it in Fall HUD settings! How dumb or weird is that?:D I managed to install 6 new mods, while looking in descriptions of all Fall UI mods:D:D:D
For others who are maybe as blind as me - you can turn off "scrap components" in Fall HUD settings. Checkbox is called "Hide Scrap Components" - turn that on.
I've installed this mod (Basic Mode) and the Icon Library mid-game with MO2, but can't see any changes. In MCM I've noticed the Item Sorter under Icon Library Menu keeps reverting back to NONE, there is an option to choose FallUI Item Sorter.xml there, but upon exiting and entering the menu again it always reverts to NONE. I haven't installed Inventory or HUD, but the description says they are optionals. I don't think I'm using any other interface mod, I have only 20 mods and most are bug fixes and performance optimization. And I'm on GOG version. What am I doing wrong?
So it seems the installation of Inventory and/or UI is indeed required despite the description saying otherwise. After reading the guide available somewhere here at nexus, and trying to troubleshoot some of the mentioned known issues regarding MCM, I got nowhere. Then I decided to install these other two mods and everything seems to be working now. Although I'd still like to know if it's possible to use only the Item Sorter.
Oh great, another mod with a disabled search function and a bunch of unanswered comments. Seriously, why do mod authors do this for Fallout 4? It's making things 10x harder for us. Like wtf? It's so frustrating. The Skyrim community doesn't, so... why?
No one is being paid to create this mods, this are projects that were developed and finished years ago, just like in Skyrim where 90% of the top mods haven't been in active development for years.
Is not our fault Bethesda keeps releasing unnecessary updates that break more than they fix, so there is your why.
As for the search function, is entirely a Nexus problem, so I don't know why you would blame the mod authors.
"As for the search function, is entirely a Nexus problem, so I don't know why you would blame the mod authors." My bad, I did not see that, my apologies then. I assumed it was the mod authors because everyone seems to have their own Discord now. Even almost a year later, Fallout 4 modding is still a mess. Even a downgraded version is still a hassle to setup and bug fix, and help isn't always easy or available.
I have significant concerns regarding mod authors who make support exclusively available through Discord. It is disappointing that Nexus makes no effort to ensure support on their platform.
Similarly, I am disheartened by the UFO team's refusal to provide binaries for users running older versions of the game, which is why many mod authors (incl. myself) choose not to support the UFO (Unofficial Patch).
Regarding the downgrade, it could be seen as Bethesda's responsibility as well, as they could easily provide a separate branch for older binaries on Steam, eliminating the need for users to download older manifests manually.
All I can offer in terms of advice is to visit this mod page.
Is there any mod that can ensure that items marked as favorites are always at the top in the inventory lists, both in PipBoy, crafting, and trading menu? this is something I've wanted ever since the game came out. I am using all of the FallUI mods and FIS sorter, explored all of the functions and category sorting, all the MCM menus as well, and have yet to find a way to do this. The only way I found to do this is by renaming every favorite with a ! at the beginning of the name. Works well, but to make it work you have to remove the weapon category tag, which in turn screws up the subfolder sorting. No mod I can find digging through Nexus or google results has helped. Maybe I've missed something, if anyone knows, any help would be appreciated
For some reason, a lot of power armor in my game is listed as clothing or normal armor. I don't have any mods that change or do anything to power armor at all.
As the Nexus search function is offline I can't search for a fix or if this is a known bug. Can anyone advise me on how I can fix this, please??
Hello, I am having trouble with matching the item icons with the actual item type/catagory. For example, my melee weapon are counting towards rifle, and all my healing items and food ingrediants are showing with gear icon. I have all the FallUI and FIS mods enabled. I checked the toubleshooting page and went over all the steps with the mods I have. But all seems fine. Does anyone know how to fix this?

Wheel Menu?
Is there a tag list?
