This mod allows players to craft legendary mods that can then be applied to their equipment so long as they meet the requirements of the mod.

This is a reimagining of my no-longer-supported Legendary Mod. I've completely reworked it from the ground up to function how I originally intended it to when I created the first iteration.

Previously I allowed users to remove legendary mods from their items and apply them to other items. There were some issues with the old implementation that I was never happy with. Now, instead of being able to add/remove legendary mods freely, you'll now be crafting the mods directly at a Chemistry Workbench and applying them to your equipment via potion effect. Legendary mods are no longer removable.

All legendary mod applications will respect the game's usual limitations for each given item type so you cannot add mods to items that normally would not be possible. There is also error checking put in place to prevent the loss of a potion in the event the user doesn't have the item equipped, the correct item for the mod equipped, it already has a legendary mod attached in that slot, or doesn't have enough caps.

All legendary enemies will have a 25% chance to drop what is known as a "Legendary Component". This component is a generic ingredient in all legendary mod crafting recipes.

To properly apply a legendary mod to an item:

  • Make sure you have the item equipped
  • Make sure you only have one of that type of item in your inventory at one time (the function used to add the mod to the item cannot distinguish between two items of the same type in your inventory)
  • Make sure it does not already have a legendary mod attached
  • Once the above parameters are satisfied, simply use the item you created at the workbench which can be found under the AID section of your inventory

When applying mods to armor, you will be presented with an option for which slot you wish to apply it to.

Once applied, the mod will deduct the caps cost from your inventory.

Each mod has been arranged into one of three tiers based on their perceived usefulness:

Armor:
Tier 1 items cost 250 caps
Tier 2 items cost 500 caps
Tier 3 items cost 1000 caps

Weapons require double the caps of armor mods at any tier.

Weapon types "ballistic" and "gun" refer to weapons that fire bullets and any pistol or rifle respectively. Refer to this page for reference. Note where it says "ranged" and "gun". They are one in the same, so consider any mod that says "ranged" to simply mean "gun".
