I can hardly believe all the download numbers, donations, positive reviews and endorsements.
It makes me happy that so many people are enjoying it.

In this release, the ARRI LOG-C3 tone mapper and the agX color space are set by default. This results in a more vivid look with better color reproduction. With more detail in the bright areas of the image. If you do not like this look, play with the tone mapper settings (Luma/Chroma) in enb editor in the ENBEFFECT.FX window. Or select a different tone mapper and/or color space. To restore the legacy look of version 1.4.3, select tone mapper [1] UNCHARTED II and color space [2] ACES in the Setup.ini file.

Q 00: How do I open and operate the ENB menu?
TIP: Before you open the ENB menu you should call the console to pause the game.
TIP: After you have made settings, do not forget to save these with ---SAVE CONFIGURATION---.
KEY MAPPING
Q 01: I have / want black bars at the top and bottom of the screen?
A: Open the ENB menu, go to enbeffectpostpass.fx in the shader window and disable / enable Letterbox.
You can also turn on / off other post-processing effects such as grain, vignette and CA, etc.
Q 02: My image is too dark / bright at interiors / exteriors / night etc...?
A: Open the ENB menu, go to enbeffect.fx in the shader window and increase / decrease the values of TM: Exposure Bias (Day, Night, Interior).
Q 03: What is that dirt or reflection like effect on my screen.
A: That would be the lens effect. Open the ENB menu, go to enblens.fx in the shader window and increase / decrease the values of Reflection: Intensity (Day, Night, Interior).
OR:
Open the ENB menu, go to EFFECT in the enbseries.ini window and disable EnableLens.
Q 04: What is that colored tint to my screen?
A: That's the LUT. It's like an instagram filter. Open the ENB menu, go to enbeffectpostpass.fx in the shader window. Under LOOK UP TABLE you can customize the filter to your preferences.
Q 05: I want to use additional LUT files?
A: No problem. Copy up to 8 custom LUT files to the [Fallout 4]\enbseries\CustomLUTs folder. Open the file _CustomLUTs.fxh with a text editor and enter the filenames of your LUT files. How to do this is explained in the file. Then open the file [Fallout 4] \enbseries\Setup.ini also with a text editor and activate the option E_CUSTOM_LUTS.
Q 06: The Depth of Field is too strong / too weak?
A: Open the ENB menu, go to enbdepthoffield.fx in the shader window and increase / decrease the values of Far blur curve (Day, Night, Interior) and Near blur curve.
Q 07: How can I disable the raindrop on camera lens effect?
A: Open the ENB menu, go to enbdepthoffield.fx in the shader window and change the Technique from REACTOR DOF + RAIN to REACTOR DOF.
Q 08: How can I disable adaptation without making the image look too dark?
A: First you have to set the ADAPTATION mode in the Setup.ini file from 3 = VANILLA AUTO EXPOSURE to 1 = ENB. Then open the ENB menu, go to enbadaptation.fx in the shader window and use Manual Overwrite. This allows you to set a fixed brightness level.
Q 09: My underwater is entirely clear?
A: At my request Boris implemented a feature in ENB v0.489 ( MUCH THANKS! ) that allows to disable the Game DOF, leaving the Blur Shader used by underwater effect active. The option is called "DisableGameDepthOfField" and can be found in the ENB menu. Since the ENB PATCH of NAC.X disables the complete Game DOF, it should not be used anymore. Therefore the deactivated effects have to be deactivated manually. Among other things, this has the advantage of not using the Institute patch, which is not needed for REACTOR because it causes the brightness in the Institute to be too dark. And the best part is, the underwater is finally not completely clear.
Here are the steps:
- Make sure that the option DisableGameDepthOfFiled in the ENB menu is enabled.
- Open the menu of NAC.X and make sure that the Patch for ENB is disabled.
- In the same menu, under CAMERA SETTINGS disable the NOISE, VIGNETTE and Lens Distortion effects. Leave DEPTH OF FIELD at the default settings.
That's it.INFO: Before you do the three steps, I would recommend to reset NAC.X in the menu once completely. After that, make sure to disable Interior Override and Fake Interior Darkening.
Q 10: Plugin load order?
A: Place these plugins at the bottom of your list in that order:
Q 11: I have black dots on human skin?
A: Set bBlurEnable=1 in Fallout4Prefs.ini under NVHBAO.
Q 12: Any plan to add a patch for vivid weathers please?
A: Not from my side but I can recommend you the modding guide MOFAM from my friend Masterlix. He offers on the modpage ini files to run REACTOR ENB with VIVID WEATHERS, ULTRA INTERIOR LIGHTING, ENB LIGHTS OVERHAUL and CLARITY - A VISUAL OVERHAUL. In the guide under PART 14 you can find information about the installation of the mods and under PART 50 about the ini files of REACTOR ENB.
The hardcore modders among you will surely manage to work through the whole guide. And even if you just want to spice up your game with cool mods, you're in good hands here. Sorry for the promotional text but this man deserves it! Be so kind and give him support with kudos and endorsements ;) For more support, join his Discord server.
Q 13: Why the night vision does not work?
A: If even with a correctly installed patch, night vision does not work as expected, it is probably because you have a specific NAC.X preset enabled.
Q 14: Very strong image noise occurs in some situations. Disabling Film Grain in enbpostpass.fx is unfortunately ineffective?
A: This effect is not generated by REACTOR. Its Film Grain is very subtle and only perceptible in very dark image areas. The very harsh and unattractive noise is generated by NAC.X. To disable it, navigate in the NAC.X menu on the Pip-Boy to NAC SETTINGS -> NAC OPTIONS -> Disable RadiationFX.
Q 15: I have an RTX GPU and frequently CTD?
A: Fallout 4 (not ENB) has an issue with Weapon Debris effect on NVIDIA RTX GPU's. Install this MOD and you should be fine. It is a lifesaver. Thanks to Antonix35!!!
Q 16: I have a strange “glitter effect” around light sources?
A: It is caused by the ENB-SSAO and partly also by subsurface scattering in conjunction with reflective material. However, this is not related to REACTOR. If it bothers you a lot, you can deactivate "SelfIntersecting" under SSAO. It won't disappear completely, but it will be a little more bearable. In my opinion, disabling SSAO completely is not an option. The ENB author has confirmed that this bug cannot be easily fixed.
Q 17: I get error messages at game start when ENB compiles shaders like (enbbloom.fx (47,1) Error x3000: unrecognized identifier UI_whitespace)?
Q 18: I have strange square shapes on light sources?
A: This problem usually indicates a corrupt ENB+Preset installation. Either you have not copied the files in the correct structure or you still have outdated files of another ENB preset in your game folder. If necessary, delete all files/folders beginning with “enb...”. Then copy ENB+REACTOR again into the Fallout 4 main directory as shown in the screenshot.
Q 19: How can I improve performance to squeeze out a few extra FPS?
A: There are an infinite number of screws you can turn. Ultimately, it's up to you what compromise you're willing to make. I would start with the
inis (use BethINI) and try to reduce the level of detail. Things like LOD, grass density etc.. IMO It's better to have fewer objects but in high quality and lots of detail. You can also halve the resolution of shadows to gain a few FPS. However, I would only deactivate HBAO+ if you absolutely need to.
Then there are a lot of quality settings for shaders in the ENB menu that can be reduced (don't forget to save first and then apply).
Decreasing the quality by one level in enbbloom.fx should also improve performance.
I would also highly recommend mods that improve performance, for example Boston FPS Fix, Shadow Boost FO4 and optional Long Loading Times Fix, High FPS Physics Fix and Sprint Stuttering Fix.
It's also worth getting to deal with Godrays. Quality or Ultra Quality God Rays Performance Fix.
You can also try to use an upscaler if technically possible on your end -> https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xm1cgHySMy4. Details in video description.
Only if all this does not lead to the desired performance would I start to
deactivate effects such as SSAO, DOF, Antialiasing etc.
Q 20: Will this work with NextGenUpdate?
A: I don't offer support for it at the moment because it frustrates me how Bethesda ignores the modding community that has been fixing their botched games and keeping them alive for years.
However, REACTOR ENB is compatible with the following restrictions:
- Weather system does not work
- Raindrops on the camera lens does not work
- Water, subsurface scattering and fog do not work. Maybe something else too (note from ENB author Boris Vorontsov)
You need ENB v0.501 for Nextgen, otherwise please use ENB v0.496.
I strongly recommend to downgrade and wait until all required mods are updated and working!
I swear I am close to ripping my hair out. I had this preset working fine then out of nowhere on a fresh install it just stops working. ENB works without it, but when I install REACTOR I get an infinite new game load screen. I wish I knew what was causing it but it just happened for no reason to my knowledge.EDIT: My fault, it was a problem with High FPS Fix, I'm just an idiot :)
just found out abt enb's 60hrs into a heavily modded playthrough (literally 1062 mods) and am astounded this works
thank u for your mod and looking forward your reply
im playing on the pre nextgen version and installed all the right mods
Did you get yours resolved?
All in all its not worth it guys. It looks nice, yes - but only if your PC is fast enough (mine isn't, even though I have a R9 7800X3D and a RTX4080) and if ENB doesn't brick your game. Which it did 2 times for me, until I magically worked.
(Besides using this ENB, I'll install with next playthrough.)
Does anyone know what's needed for that?
(When I try LooksMenu or bodyslide myself it always ends up looking like, well, extremely misformed.)
Hi there. First off, this preset is awesome and I love the colors it adds to the game, I just started getting this strange error with vines where for some reason, small blue shadows pop up and make my vines look like starry skies. I can't figure out how to add a photo, so here's an Imgur link with a screenshot of the issue. It only started after did a clean install of Reactor.
Nevermind, it seems to be an issue with some mod conflicts, not the ENB.
