Works as advertised! And is a MUCH NEEDED utility for we wastelanders constantly on the go, and searching constantly through an overly cluttered inventory! Particularly through these items that Bethesda says we can't get rid of!
El Ha. This is an amazing idea. Thank you SO MUCH for sharing this with us. VERY happy to endorse!
I've just installed this, and it appeared in my inventory without issues. However, I can't place notes related to quests as I keep getting the "you can't store quest items" message. I can't even store the keys or keycards in there, as they doesn't even appear in the menu. Any idea of what could be the issue?
Don't worry, I thought to have finally found a mod to remove those keys and I was doing something wrong as it didn't worked. At least I'll manage to remove mod items and other things, that's still an highly useful thing. Anyway, another great job of yours. Just wondering, what would happen if I remove or accidentally scrap the holotape?
1.You can't scrap it 2. You can't store it inside the container (A script made sure of that) 3. If you loose it you can always craft it under Chemistry / Utility
Why wouldn't this show up in my pipboy at the start of game? I don't get that. Is it random chance? It either will, or won't. What factors make it decide not to show up? That seems kind of sketchy to me. Makes me not want to trust using it. I need some reassurance from you, because it didn't show up. I have to make it. Why?
Shouldn't occur following v1.1 update. Background - some mods don't work unless you install them after leaving the vault, some work but bork the vault (often the elevator) or prewar in some way. But in this case it's prob simply because you don't start the game with a pipboy (you find one to escape), and maybe the mod is a one-time injection - so when you start the game it'd have no pipboy to implement the change upon, and thus goes nowhere. It'd prob work if you added it once you have a pipboy for it to change. However, v1.1 changed it to a craftable item which'll mean you should be out of the vault and already have a pipboy by the time you create it.
Alternatively, use a desk drawer in Home Plate (or other safe place) to store most clutter, but with keynuker for carrying keys & codes (it's what I do, but see the hoops in my & others' comments there that you have to go through to get keynuker working nowadays). Update - I see Zorkaz above says his description is wrong and keys cannot be stored in this clutter folder anyway, so you'll need keynuker for that - or Def UI, which apparently also has a key ring function.
I was starting a new game with my existing mod list, the holotape did'nt showed up. Solution disable the mod, load the game save again with disabled mod, enable the mod, load the game and you will find the holotape.

-This one does not replace the previous mod
-This one solved the bug of the container suddenly accepting all items
Or we can use both?
Particularly through these items that Bethesda says we can't get rid of!

you can't store quest item
That's vanilla behaviour and nothing can be done about it, except for editing specific quests
keys or keycards
Again this is normal vanilla stuff, you can't store them elsewhere too
Sry for the confusion
