I must be missing something here. I downloaded both files (RandomTerms and ProjectorTerminalNoPower). I installed both using Vortex. Despite having loaded both, the projector terminal continues to require power.
The nif does not contain power states. As in, the animations for the states "On", "Off", "UnpoweredOn", "UnpoweredOff". This only affects whenever some part of the object light up when powered or such. Whenever the actual in-game object requires power or not, is completely independent of the nif. This is set up in the esp file.
Got the projector to work but when i use it i dont see any type of screen other than the load holotape message in mid air..Is that how its supposed to be? I even have a header text (example: My personal terminal ) but that doesnt show either.. Still love it though...
Is there any chance of a version that doesn't require power? I'm trying to include them in an interior cell which isn't a settlement and I can't get them to work.
Now, see, these terminals I can understand. That stupid circular screen was irritating the crap out of me. Why in the wasteland, where there are still perfectly good TVs with perfectly fine picture tubes, are we making ROUND! terminal displays!?
I had no issues with the typewriter as a keyboard (I actually really liked the concept), but the round screen bugged me to no end.
So, I shall use these instead. No more round terminals for me! Well, at least, no more round ones built by me. I'll put up with the default Institute ones, but when I become the Director of the Institute and can use the mods to alter my office, I'm putting those holo-projector terminals in my settlements and that square-screened beauty on my desk.
You are free to do so. That's why I flagged this as modder's resource.
edit: if you actually do that, you must also remove that one keyword, something like "circularTerminal". Otherwise the picture on the screen will still be circular.
I've got a crazier idea than that even. It's real off-the-wall, so hear me out before you shut down the idea. But what about this thinking-out-of-the-box approach?
Follow these steps carefully, or you risk corrupting your savegame and setting your PC on fire:
1) Don't build the items you don't want to use. Done.
Use this knowledge wisely or you risk your soul and civilization.
