About this mod

List of performance enhancing mods for low-end/old hardware and laptops, a core mod list to be used by myself and others as a starting point for a very sad, but functional base game.

Requirements
Permissions and credits
This is a very basic collection of mods to make Fallout look relatively nice on clunky machines. Made primarily so I don't have to wade through 30 odd pages of my mod download history in order to find/remember them. This will make some peoples eyes bleed I'm sure but an absolute godsend for myself and others with limited hardware and a masochistic desire to run this game at almost any cost. My laptop sits just below the line of the minimum required specs and will barely get to 20fps on the default low settings via the game launcher. Silky smooth 2008 style graphics can now be enjoyed (tolerated) at roughly 30fps in all instances.

To anybody else using this list, its always good practice to make a copy of your freshly installed Fallout 4 folder (the one containing Fallout4.exe) and I would recommend it anyways as I overwrite the default texture files with every install. As far as I am aware all of these play nice together including Upscale and ENBoost, just make sure to follow instructions on the DLL Loader page. Expect practically no help with installation as this is more of a personal list, it is, what it is. That being said it is fairly simple and make sure to install the relevant files with Vortex to avoid any remorse.

No guarantees as this a personal list, that being said you would have to try very hard to brick your game/explode your computer with this list. This is most likely the first and only communication from me on this site but I may check back to add or update with additions.

The is nothing to download from this page, only links.

All credit (and thanks) goes to the respective mod authors linked on this page, I made none of these mods

Boston FPS Fix - makes 2/3 of the game playable Replaced by Fo4FI FPS Fix, does the same thing but better
Fog Remover - general performance improvements, especially indoor gains
Fr4nsson's Light Tweaks - Use the file for indoor/outdoor and bloom remover, better lighting and free fps
Insignificant Object Remover - Self Explanatory
Immersive Cleaning - Removes a lot of stuff that impedes settlement building and improves fps, without knackering precombines, cleaner and lore friendly
PhyLight - tones down a lot of the indoor lighting and increases fps, if you're having trouble in certain interiors e.g Corvega, Arcjet this helps massively. DO NOT INSTALL THE TEXTURE PACK use only Phydark and Phylight .esps, texture pack looks great but is not performance friendly sadly, stick with PhyOp below.
PhyOp - Overhauled Optimised Textures download potato variant and manual install/overwrite - probably the best compromise for performance/looks
Light Sources do not cast Dynamic Shadows - Self Explanatory
Upscale and the required DLL Loader  - Underrated mod for low end systems, might be the the most important
ENBoost - Proper use of memory, fps cap etc
BethINI - A superior way of changing in game settings without totally mincing your .ini files, comes with additional low and poor settings which may be all you need to run the game
Custom Lighting Overhaul - The poor mans ENB/SweetFX, allows you to change brightness, contrast, saturation, bloom etc, similar to the Imaginator mod for New vegas

Added Optional - Another Green Mod - Changes the landscape to be less barren, doesn't break precombines probably the only thing close to a performance based 'true' green mod, however it proved to be a bit too much for my system. Natural Green and Natural Green - Fallen Leaves add a bit of green and are the most performance friendly of all, compatible with Fo4FI FPS Fix unlike Another Green Mod
