I'm using old gen. No start me up. CTD before the main menu is loaded after I install this mod. I have unofficial Fallout 4 patch. Disable this mod and game loads normally.
This issue, CTD before the main menu, occurs if you have mismatched versions of the Unofficial Fallout 4 Patch (UFO4P) and old generation Fallout 4 (versions before 1.10.980) due to missing masters. You must download the correct version of UFO4P for your version of Fallout 4. As of 2025-02-17, the current GOG version of Fallout 4 is version 1.10.163, which will cause the CTD if using the current version of UFO4P (only compatible with the new generation Fallout 4 version 1.10.980 or later). Downloading the Unofficial Fallout 4 Patch (version of 2.1.5) for the GOG version of Fallout 4 (version 1.10.163) resolves this issue.
This mod is working correctly, without errors, for both the old gen and latest versions of Fallout 4. The previous CTD was caused by an incorrect installation of Unofficial Fallout 4 Patch that created a missing masters error.
I recommend troubleshooting your mods for other potential causes of the CTD.
I've been using AmazingFollowerTweaks to change any of the Cabot House characters into followers (using the full import option). But I only recommend importing characters as AFT followers after completing the Cabot House quest line, specially "The Secret of Cabot House" main quest (MS09) to prevent issues. AFT has great documentation if you are interested in using it for this purpose.
Yes I did see that. You also pointed out that option wouldn't be voiced and you were considering adding most of them natively at one point. I just thought I'd pop by and ask because the idea got a little traction in the mod request forum recently.
Endorsed. I did the whole quest with Valkyrie installed. Went off without a hitch. Really enjoy having the choice to do good or evil. I play a good man so this mod improved my life.
That's good to know because I love this mod but since the first time I played Valkyrie it has never left my load order. So, I am very pleased they work together.
I am running both and successfully completed the Cabot family quest (much later - I just recently installed this mod, whereas fifty levels ago I started with Synthetic Player).
I was planning to add this and a few other mods to my Xoren Games - Cabot House Enhanced Quests - Compatible Mods list, assuming I didn't find any conflicts. But I've been too busy lately with my new indie game company and a part-time job to pay my bills. I'm having a lot of fun developing my own indie game using Unreal Engine 5, but it's very time consuming.
I still want to do another Fallout 4 playthrough soon and will provide an update here on mod compatibility. The mods you guys ask about sound really cool, so I'm eager to try them out.
Trying this myself, but I'm not a good modder, I just throw things in the load order and try to play...
So far, the only glitch - though this was more with Father Companion - was that at Cabot house there was a quest marker for Father Companion that I couldn't get to activate. It went away once I dealt with Lorenzo, though.
So I don't know why this happened, but I can't get the peaceful ending of this mod to work. I've seen the videos. I chose the dialogue option, but instead of him saying *SPOILERS*
"I'll do the right thing."
He instead just says
"Why else would you have opened that door? There is only one way forward now."
When I return to the house, the other dialogue options are regular. I had no issues installing the mod or any incompatibilities that showed up. I also installed it on a fresh, never-modified save/game before I started the quest. The only thing I did was reinstall it after It went to the vanilla choices, as maybe it was bugged, but that did nothing. Is there something I am missing, I don't know what's happening here. I do like the mod. Just kind of bummed out that I can't get the peaceful ending I want :(
After the quest was completed, everyone in the Cabot family remained still. They just stand there. Furthermore, Lorenzo couldn't respond to my conversation, which prevented him from agreeing to give me the serum. Additionally, Jake and Lorenzo are unable to start traveling the commenwealth. I guess I won't be able to encounter them in future random encounters. This is the worst for me. Is this a bug or how the mod is designed? After checking, no mod conflicts were found.
In many playthroughs, I've never seen this happen so It sounds like you have a mod conflict or save file issue.
To test if the issue is with your save file, you can start a new game and speed run through the Cabot House questline by going straight to Bunker Hill to meet Edward Deegan. If the issue reoccurs, you can check for mod conflicts.

I hope everything is good with you and your indie studio. ☺️
I haven't used PRP yet, but I will include it in my next play test and add it to Xoren Games - Cabot House Enhanced Quests - Compatible Mods if it works without any issues.
