Tweaks the Double-Barreled Shotgun to be more like a shotgun (Shoot Far and Hit Hard). Finally this gun feels like a dangerous projectile weapon and less like a gun shaped spear.

The vanilla Double-Barrel Shotgun is underwhelming.


In Fallout 4 as the player levels an un-upgraded double-barrel feels progressively like a junky melee weapon for both the Sole Survivor and NPCs. The vanilla shotgun's low stats are abysmal against DLC enemies and will be easily dismissed if you have any weapon mods installed.

The Double-Barrel Shotgun base damage has been buffed to 120. There is a 25% increase in pellets to more closely match what is the apparent average for 00 Buckshot (from 8 to 10 in the CK). This shotgun has also been renamed to reflect the 12 gauge it seems to be inspired from.

The primary effective range has been extended to roughly exceed the distance of a leveled Scavenger's aggro range and has an improved ability to momentarily stagger an opponent. Now even out of range shots should do more damage (though still much less than within effective range) and reloading every other shot should now finally be worth it.

A sawed-off is finally capable of hitting more than a few feet in front of the player and a long-barrel is actually feasible for hunting Radstags. 

To balance out these buffs the weight, cap value, and reloading time have all been increased.

These simple changes all come together to make our favorite Mad Max reminiscent weapon behave more like a projectile weapon and less like a gun shaped spear.
