PLUNDER is getting an update AND ITS A BIG ONE
So even if I've retired from modding I still play the game and use my mods, so if I find problems or improvements that I make for myself I figure I might as well do the decent thing and share them with all of you.
So I'm updating plunder. I know people had some opinions about the loot, and most of them were objectively wrong and a crime against human reason but even so I've decided to try and be a bit more humble and therefore I looked at ways to improve the Plunder economy. So, few things:
- It does still have a lot of junk items for base building, BUT only in generic containers.
- The ''useful'' stuff for people who don't do base building is now located in boss containers and yellow supply crates, etc.
- This way, both kinds of players can finally li... -
So this is a beta I made for personal use, it fixes up some bugs and revisits balancing, also takes on settlement building.
Here's a list of changes:
- Settlement workbenches now have appropriate perk requirements (They're just as hardcore as the rest of the gameplay so no point complaining. But weapons workbench needs gun nut as opposed to local leader etc.)
- Settlement Workbench added. This workbench allows advanced economics and is the new benefit of local leader. You can use silver/gold/plastic to print new caps, bottle water, and create settlement specific shipments for crops and water.
- Healing and food changed. Now you'll find bandages and remedies for each specific injury, making the chemist table actually useful... -
This is kind of embarrassing, but...
So as you know I quit modding, but I still make the odd release intended for personal use that I figured I might as well share.
However, SpiffySkyTrooper invited me on to work on his most recent project, Dustbowl Overhaul, and it's been pretty fun.
So I am considering updating P.L.U.N.D.E.R to 1.0. Just for some closure.

I'm retiring, this is too much.
I've spent almost a decade on The Nexus now. Put up with a lot of stuff. Bullying, racism, angry PMs, elitism, and something else. Something which I assumed was folly. Namely the ridiculous Jingoistic attitude levied towards everyone.
A while ago, a modder approached me offering the permission to use some of his assets. This modder was part of a certain famous modding team. I said I was interested, and thought his meshes looked cool. He never got back to me.
Years pass, and I tell this guy about it when we're talking about this modding team, and how I almost collaborated with them once. Suddenly, he tells the modding team itself. They send in one of their pretend lawyers to investigate the matter. I politely told the guy that if the modder who offered me... -
I'm not very good at confronting people, because it's usually counter-productive. People feel singled out, and it amounts to very little positive change.
Instead I just wait, and let it happen for a bit, so I can write an article to address a general problem.
This is something that's happened on the majority of my releases throughout my modding career, and is a common reason why I end up not updating my mods. Because it's an incredibly dispiriting experience.
It's when people act pedantic. For instance, a few months back I figured that it would be awesome to have a zombie survival experience in Fallout 4, and I thought of ways to make that happen. I figured out that I could simply substitute regular spawn points with ghouls, and...
