I have some other items planned, stay tuned. My character is using the vanilla BOS suit, the Proto Vault Suit by Nitronizer, and Ponytail Hairstyles. As far as compatibility with other holstered weapon mods, I'm not sure, as I don't use those mods.
I was under the impression that this mod would allow you to holster your own weapons and show them on your character whenever you have them equipped but no that's not at all what this mod does. What it actually does is just puts these "fake" weapons on your character regardless if you actually have the weapon or not. Essentially turning your character into a mannequin. If your just looking to show off a cool thumbnail for a youtube video or maybe impress your friends with how cool your character looks then this mod is great for that, but otherwise if you came here looking for ACTUAL empty weapon holsters then look elsewhere.
It's pretty much a given this wasn't an actual holstering animation -- that would require an update for ever weapon mod for the game... and that's if it would even be possible do actually holstering animation.
The most I was expecting was that the weapons appearing on the back when not in use... But, it seems it's merely, as the OP stated, a "firearm mannequin mod" in a thin veil.
Scoured every part of nexus. tbh no one has the mod for holster animation or whatever each mod is just a halfassed mannequin mod indeed.. fake weapons decent detail on the holsters but all in all crap for use... 3/10 for being as misleading as the rest.
pretty much you answer my question i was like nice this is what i wanted but i click on post to find out that exactly i dont want to carry fake guns i wanted my character to carry my actual guns that i have in my inventory, pretty much this mods sucks balls

actually while playing as a Jedi(Star Wars - The Lightsaber at Fallout 4 Nexus - Mods and community (nexusmods.com)), I found this mod very useful. At least I don't get 2 lightsaber hilts which would be awkward and this one has visible holster LOL

this mod makes it show what weapon you holster, even NPCs,
(but doesnt give you a leather holster or anything like that?)
Is it possible to add more stuff like melee weapons on the back and\or on the hip?
