Summary

The Awakening in the OC mod adds the base data from Awakening expansion to the Origins campaign, adding a variety of features to the original game. Many of the features work automatically, but some require further support within the campaign.

This mod makes a variety of fixes, tweaks, and expansions to the Awakening and Origins content, in order to better integrate those features into the game. Most of the modules can be used standalone in the Awakening campaign, though they are meant to be used with the Awakening in the OC mod.

This does NOT include things like Paragon Runes or Superb Potions. High level items and their recipes are still restricted to Awakening.

Modules

  • 0. Fixes
    • Armor Rune Drop Fixes
      • Certain Awakening Treasure Tables do not have the correct Armor Runes added to them. This adds them to the Tables. This is equivalent to the fix found in Armor Rune Drop Fix.
    • Cera Sells Barrier Runes
      • Barrier Runes and Barrier Rune Recpies cannot be found anywhere in Awakening. This adds them to Cera's inventory. This is equivalent to the fix found on the Awakening Rune Fixes page.
    • Dweomer Runes Etching Agent Fix
      • Journeyman Dweomer Runes require Etching Agent to craft them, despite no other runes of this level requiring it. This fixes removes the requirement.
    • Extra Specialization Fix
      • Fixes an extra specialization point being given to characters who already had 3 specializations when importing into Awakening.
    • Manual of Focus Fixes
      • Fixes for default Player Skills and the Rogue Dirty Fighting Talent not being accounted for when using the Manual of Focus. Equivalent to the changes in the Manual of Focus - for Origins mod.
    • Massive Armor No Boots Rune Slots Fix
      • Massive Armor No Boots (Templar style armor) is not set to have any Rune Slots in Awakening. This fixes that.
    • Runecrafting Starting Recipes Origins
      • If you take Runecrafting in the original campaign, you will not be given any of the starting recipes. This fixes that. (The game is scripted to give them to you, but the item tags are misspelled, so it does not work)
    • Stamina Draught Skill Level Fix
    • Weapon Runes Fix
      • Certain Weapon Runes are mistakenly marked as Armor Runes. This fixes that. This is equivalent to the fix found in Awakening Rune Fixes.
  • 1. Treasure Tables (REQUIRES Awakening in the OC)
    • Awakening includes a variety of slightly altered Treasure Tables, for creature drops and containers, and Awakening in the OC replaces the original Treasure Tables with these.
    • Awakening only replaces about half of the Treasure Tables. This module includes Awakening versions of the rest of the original campaign tables.
    • This adds Awakening versions of the Circle Tower, Elven, Orlesian, Qunari, Tevinter, and Warden Treasure Tables.
    • Changes to the Treasure Tables consist of adding Stamina Draughts, Adding Armor Runes, and Removing Junk Items like Blank Vellum.
  • 2. Merchant Stock (REQUIRES Awakening in the OC)
    • Awakening adds a few different types of items to the game. Many of these need to be manually added to merchant inventories to appear in the game.
    • This module adds Runecrafting supplies (Blank Runestones and Etching Agents) to Bodahn and the Tranquil Proprietor, in the same manner as Ambassador Cera. The Manual of Focus is also added to Bodahn's inventory. This affects all 3 instances of his and Sandal's inventory.
    • To facilitate the Runecrafting systems, infinite quantities of Novice Runes have been added to various merchants.
    • This module also adds Heraldry, Stamina Draughts, Stamina Draught Recipes, Armor Runes, Runecrafting Tracings, and Specialization Tomes to various merchants throughout the game.
    • This makes some minor changes to Owen's inventory if you save his daughter. It adds the Far Song bow from the replacement Blacksmith to his upgraded inventory. It also removes the Far Song bow from the replacement blacksmith. He is supposed to have nothing of value, and the Far Song bow is extremely valuable.
    • See the readme for a full item location list.
  • 3. Starting Stamina Recipe
    • The Lesser Stamina Draught is given as a starting herbalism recipe, along with Lesser Health and Lyrium potions.
  • 4. Runecrafting Recipe Ranks
    • Makes the Runecrafting Recipe progression match the other crafting skills.
    • Journeyman Runes require Rank 1.
    • Expert Runes require Rank 2.
    • Master Runes require Rank 3.
    • Grandmaster, Masterpiece, Paragon, and Hybrid Runes require Rank 4.
  • 5. Turn in all Runes
    • The Allied Supply Crates in Origins only allow the player to turn in weapon runes of Novice through Master Tier for the Mages or Templars.
    • Awakening adds armor runes and enables the creation of infinite numbers of runes. This module allows the player to turn in all armor and weapons runes up to Paragon Tier.
    • If you don't want to be able to turn in Grandmaster and higher tier Runes, but still be able to turn in armor runes, you can delete the "1. Turn in High Level Runes" folder from this module.
  • 6. Earlier Skills
    • Reduces the Level requirements for the 3 Awakening Skills (Runecrafting, Clarity, and Vitality), from Level (20 - 22 - 24 - 26) to Level (1 - 8 - 14 - 20).
  • 7. Earlier Specializations
    • Removes the Level 20 requirement from the Awakening Specializations, and reduces the Level requirements for their Abilities from Level (1 - 22 - 25 - 28) to Level (1 - 12 - 15 - 18).
  • 8. Earlier Class Abilities
    • Reduces the Level requirements for the new class Abilities added by Awakening to Level (1 - 8 - 14 - 20).
  • 9. Earlier Weapon Talents
    • Reduces the Level requirements for the new weapon Abilities added by Awakening to Level (1 - 8 - 14 - 20).
    • This module includes the Find Vitals fix from Dain's Fixes. In order to ensure compatibility, make sure this loads after the Dain's Fixes folder.

Installation

  • Make sure you have Awakening in the OC properly installed according to the directions on that page.
  • Check the Requirements & Compatibility section of this page, and uninstall any redundant or incompatible mods from your game.
  • Move the "Expanded Integration - Awakening in the OC" folder to you "Documents\Bioware\Dragon Age\packages\core\override"
  • You may delete the folders for the modules you do not want to use from the "Expanded Integration - Awakening in the OC" folder. The "0. Fixes" folder should never be deleted, and I highly recommend that you always use modules "1. Treasure Tables", and "2. Merchant Stock" as well.

Requirements & Compatibility

  • Awakening in the OC: Required. Some of the modules could be used without it, but there wouldn't be much point in doing that. ("0. Fixes" could be reasonably used with just Awakening)

  • Armor Rune Drop Fix: Redundant. This mod includes an equivalent fix.
  • Awakening Rune Fixes: Redundant. This mod includes an equivalent fix. (The Direct Rune Crafting file and Slots for Bows, Staffs, Shields, Robes, and all Armor pieces files may still be used)

  • Improved Atmosphere: Not compatible. This mod does tons of stuff, and will definitely conflict. Some of it's modules might work, but most will likely not.

Shale Compatibility Information

Because the Shale DLC makes a number of changes to the Original Campaigns Treasure and Tactics tables, it does not function correctly with Awakening in the OC.

This mod includes an optional file which fixes those issues, however this file will also cause Shale's crystal items to drop during Awakening, Golems, and Witch Hunt. To avoid this, you must remove the "Expanded Integration - Shale Compatibility" folder from your Override folder, when you start playing Awakening. If you don't do this, you will either find unusable Shale Crystals (if you are using a mod which imports DLC items into Awakening), or you will occasionally not find loot on a creature.
