You will need to reset your decorations so that they have a new position that will always have the correct Y value (up and down) going forward. After installing Decorator 0.2.0, enter your ship or home and open the Decorator menu. In the bottom right corner of the Transform panel (the panel with the arrows), there will be the letters "DBG". Click that. This will only show up if your save file has decorator data from old save files.
The "Target Y" is the current Y value of the interior. "Lowest Y" is the smallest Y value of all of your placed decorations. Using the up and down buttons and the "Set Increment" button, bring the "Lowest Y" number equal to the "Target Y" value. Around that point you should see your placed decorations. It isn't exact! Use the "Set Increment" button and the up and down buttons to align your decorations to their original positions.
Once that is done, exit the menu with the decorator hotkey or the Escape key. Save your game. You are done! The DBG button will disappear on its own, or use the console command "DecoratorDebug" to hide it or bring it back if you ever need to move all your decorations up and down.
I also am trying to only build the mod towards Windows. Please let me know if OSX or Linux has problems!
First: great mod! It took a little getting-used-to at first, but once I got the hang of it, it's been really fun actually sprucing up my new house.
I dunno how feasible it would be to implement, given the various mods that change them, but - do you think it'd be possible to add NPC flats as placeable "decorations"? I'm nearing the end of a thief playthrough, and my original plan was to buy a big building in Sentinel and turn it into my very own "Thieves guild hall" of sorts. Since there's no people to "populate" it with, though, I ended up settling for a regular house instead.
Can't seem to be able to open mod's UI on android. Not a single bound key seems to work - default or custom ones. Otherwise, works great on Windows, one of must-have mods for me.
Glad this mod was resurrected. I was reluctant to use it before because of all the bugs, but I haven't noticed any since the 2.0 update. If I could make a couple of requests...
Add some rugs or carpets we can place down. The floor in my current home is particularly ugly so anything I can do to cover some of that up would be great.
Some wall shelves would be nice.
Some way to fine-tune rotation, or snap it to specific angles instead of having it rely on accurate player facing. This is most noticeable with wall decor as it doesn't always line up right. Maybe ctrl-click the rotation arrows to have them snap to world rotation in, say, 15 degree increments.
Really enjoying the mod so far. I'll be sure to let you know if I come across any significant issues.
While your post is from a while ago, have you tried rotating the tapestries or banners as follows:
1 Snap low 2 Rotate 90 by top corner arrow ( about center axis ) 3 Rotate 90 degrees by bottom corner arrow ( about x axis ) Can adjust this way so item is parallel to floor, can check by moving it partially into wall to see if parallel with boards or bricks. 4 Place with center button. 5 Lower 6 Can only move on one axis depending on how you rotated, but you can rotate it again to move it in the direction you want it just takes a little more work.
Yes. Open your placement menu, tick the box that says "edit", place the object you wish to delete in front of your view, then click delete (right below edit once you tick it)
Started a new DF playthrough and saw there was an update here recently. Do the ship decorations work now, or do they still disappear when you go to your ship from different elevations?
I believe it is a problem with the headbobbing option. It should operate normally with the option off. I'm making some rounds on mods, I will try to get this sorted out asap!
I can't seem to get the UI to open no matter how many times I remap the hotkey, make fresh saves with all other mods disabled, and roll back to a previous version. I'm running DFU v1.1.1 on Windows 10 and this mod has worked for me before all the way back in DFU beta v0.11.4. Oddly enough, when I went to double-check my DFU beta v0.11.4 install, it stopped working there as well. Which led me to even digging around my graphics driver settings and resetting to defaults to make sure it wasn't some weird error on my part, since I had changed settings in the time between picking back up DFU after putting it down.
EDIT: After messing around by essentially systematically pressing every key on my keyboard, I've found that rebinding just doesn't work and the default "/" key is very specific about which one you use. I've been trying to use the numpad "/" key when this mod ONLY ALLOWS the "/" to the left of the right "Shift" key to be used with any positive result.
Theres an incompatibility with Locked Loot Containers - Chest And Loot Overhaul mod. When placing down any item and marking it as a container, then interacting with the item, it will turn into one of the chests from the Locked Loot mod. Magicono43 has been made aware of it, but i figured i pop over here and make sure your side was aware of the issue as well.
I saw! I was just now coming back to say i have had no issues so far. All of the placed containers in my house remain the same (and more importantly, still have their goodies inside), and newly placed containers also remain the same when opening. I will be keeping an eye out for any strangeness~ Thanks for the quick fix!
Also i was very curious on pre-placed objects, as in the objects that are already present when you purchase the house. Was wondering it itd be possible to make them editable, or perhaps disable/remove them?

And in my experience, no, it's not possible, or I'm missing something
