It annoyed the hell out of me, plus it rekts civilians too, which is whatever but still. Why? My workaround for disabling this was using XP multiplier mod, set the perk to 59 and lock it with 0 multiplier so it won't gain any XP.
what a stupid, immersion breaking thing to put in the game! I can't tell you how many innnocent people i've accidentally killed trying to SAVE THEM from getting robbed lmfao OR HOW MANY TIMES IM TRYING TO PLAY STEALTH and suddenly i just become a walking thunder storm. wish it was something you could build up and activate IF YOU WANT. not something that just starts out of nowhere...what am i? thor? no thanks. thanks for this mod <3
You are doing gods work, my friend! Gods work! I tried to disable it myself but unsuccessful... I tried stats modifiers to auto scale my level to 59 but that didn't work. Then I tried setting the effector key in TweakDB to an empty array, but that didn't work either (FYI: BaseStatusEffect.TechAbility_60_EMP_Blast_inline2.effectors ) In the end I resorted to manually editing my save file and setting tech skill ability level back 59. Like cavemen. Your method on the other hand is as simple as elegant.
Now I'm trying to restrict the EMP Blasts of the Shock 'n Awe Cyberware to trigger only from damage caused by hostiles enemies (as opposed to vanilla setting that releases an EMP whenever you take damage - even when driving or falling from height [!!]- which is absolutely bonkers! Hit your head because you drove to fast over a speedbump? Release an EMP!... ) Any help is appreciated!
