If you try to install the mod 1.0 with an EPIC game store edition of the game, you will get the following error:
To fix this, download the optional file called "EPIC game store compatibility fix" and unzip it. It should contain 2 xml files.
Copy these 2 files into the HD Texture Pack v1.0 folder, overriding the two xml files that were there previously. Try to install again from the HD Texture Pack v1.0 folder, and this time it should open without errors.
Either that, or:
As mentioned by GuilhermeHS8, An alternative method is to rename the game's "FinalEpic" folder to "Final", install the mod, and then rename it back to "FinalEpic".
This game is notorious for being unstable on some PCs, so If you encounter any problems, make sure you still have the problem after uninstalling the mod before posting.
To install HD Texture Pack on Linux, you can use wine. 1. Download the HD Texture Pack and unpack it. 2. Open the terminal and install wine with the command - sudo apt install wine 3. Download the installer.NET 6.0 Desktop Runtime (v6.0.36) for Windows x64 from the official Microsoft website 4. Open the terminal in the program folder and run the NET 6.0 installation with the command - wine windowsdesktop-runtime-6.0.36-win-x64.exe 5. Download TFC Installer for UE2-UE3 version 2.3.6.0 or higher, unpack, open the terminal in the program folder and enter the command - wine TFCInstaller.exe 6. Click "Game folder" and specify the path to the folder with the game, in my case the path was Z:\home\noreliks\.steam\debian-installation\steamapps\common\BioShock Remastered 7. Click "Texture pack / Game patch" and specify the path to the folder with the HD Texture Pack. 8. Click "Update Bioshock Remastered" and wait for the program to finish.
I installed this on a Linux Mint 22.1 system with a Cinnamon 6.4.8 desktop environment and a Linux 6.8.0-57-generic kernel
Bro I'm not using any of the mods currently not even yours . I played the game for bit and noticed texture pop/ streaming issue. The texture is very potato looking from far and when i get close it becomes high after 2 secs . Do you know a solution because I love this game but this problem annoys me very much .
This happens with pretty much unreal engine games, but it's not always that bad one the level has been loaded. I think at some point I saw some ini tweaks to improve this but never tried it. you might want to look into that.
Bro I extensively searched the whole internet , youtube videos but didn't found any solution.I found solution for BioShock infinity texture pop problem but not for bioshock 1 remastered. if you can find anything please help , It would be a great help . I tried tweaking ini configuration files but none of them worked.
I don't think there's no incompatibility between the mods? If you install this one first and the other one after it, you should get this mod's textures as default and the ones that are replaced in the other mod should be overridden.
I meant upscaling the fixed textures from that mod, then using the upscaled fixed textures in your mod. Like I said, it couldn't hurt to ask for permission first.
I tried to do it when I was first working on the mod but that just broke the texture streaming mechanic in the game. For some reason only the remastered versions could be upscaled without breaking. And even then you can see from the comments bellow that doesn't work right for everybody...
Apologies what is meant by "Very low resolution text, once upscaled, will turn into alien text. No one knows what it means. Don't try to read it, and you will be fine"? Does this mean that the low res text previously said something that made sense and added to the game story and lore and the upscale distorted it? Or was it alien text from the start that was hidden by low res texture that are now just more clear?
It means that AI upscaling does not do a great job with low resolution text that could barely be read before. So instead of a very pixelated text you get gibberish with odd looking characters instead.
I would refrain from using any tweakers in any games, besides you are using reshade with ssr shader which can distort texture surfaces, in RealMaster the scroll lock key disables the effects btw.
It's possible but the "remaster" itself has tons of meshes with the wrong textures. I recommend uninstalling the texture pack first to make sure it's the actual cause of any problems you encounter
I experienced the same issue and uninstalling the mod allowed me to load the level. After saving I reinstalled the mod and everything seems to work fine for now.
