About this mod

Yet another take on smooth fem githyanki texture. Comes with an alt version with some custom scarring.

I've had a lot of yet to be uploaded projects I've been working on and off. However, I recently had a massive data loss due to my own complacency trusting my hard drive, and having no backups. Vast majority of my mods and all my work templates have been lost with little to no possibility of recovery. This is one of the few mods where I lost the templates but managed to save the final textures themselves. So I'm uploading them here currently as they are, unlikely to do any changes to them any time soon.

What does this mod do?

It seamlessly transfers the humanoid body type 3 textures to gith body type 1. I considered this a decent compromise of still looking athletic, but not worn and torn thanks to the harshness of githyanki society. Probably not lore friendly, but that's okay, I originally set out to do this for my own OC plans.

Speaking of, I made an alternative version that comes with custom scars. If you're curious about the ideas behind these scars, and what they were intended to convey (be advised it gets a fair bit detailed):
Spoiler:
Show

  • The back is covered in old lashing scars, to try and discipline her for being slippery, and not willing to take the hits or dish them out. They're not as prominent as they can be in real life for the amount of cruelty the githyanki would practice, but I tried my best to make it realistic.
  • The most prominent scar on the front is a result of an attempted execution, where she was first cut through the belly, to force her to fall on her knees. I used one of Wyll's scars hoping to make it look believable.
  • The faint scar on the chest is where her would-be executioner thrust their blade, while she was helplessly trying to hold in her guts. Before her heart could be pierced however, an eldritch being responding to her psychic screams of agony intervened, didn't let the blade go all the way through, and empowered her to
escape her execution. I've also taken this impact scar from Wyll.
If you want to interpret these differently for your own character, you're welcome to! Also please note, the intensity of the scars will depend on the skintones you select. I used wood tone 4 in my screenshots, which is somewhat less saturated than other green skin tones, like say, orcish green.

Requirements and recommendations:
Trips' Old Shaders and Player and NPC - Old Shaders, as otherwise these textures won't apply.
Unique Tav if you want to keep these textures unique to yourself.
Body Tattoo Switcher if you're using UTAV, as it'll allow you to reapply your spots conveniently.

Known issues:
None yet, but if you see that I've missed seams somewhere, feel free to let me know. I can't guarantee I'll fix it (see first paragraph), but at least it'll be on my radar.

Installation:
Once you downloaded the mod, open the folder and choose the version you want to install (scars/no scars, UTAV/no UTAV). Once you've made your choice, drag and drop the Generated folder into the game's Data folder. Default locations for the Data folder as an example:
Steam: C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Baldurs Gate 3
GOG: C:\Program Files (x86)\GOG Galaxy\Games\Baldurs Gate 3

Mods in the screenshots:

Additional comments:
If you're interested in making your own textures, I used Photoshop for the editing but Gimp is a free alternative that works well too! I also recommend Blender, where you can extract the UV map for bodies, so you'll know where the critical seam areas will be.
