Ok so! Did you know that if you select "Not yet, Wyll. Not 'til all this trouble is behind us." at the end of Wyll's Act 3 romance scene, you can cuddle with him instead? ...Did you also know that the animation is Adorable, but the camera cuts away before you can see the full thing, and you only get to see them at a distance after?

The last shot of that cinematic is gorgeous, don't get me wrong, but the cuddle animation is too cute for me to not want to see it up close every time.

...Well, with this mod, now you can!


This was actually made for Wyllmancer Week, for the "proposal" prompt!! 💗🌳💍 I would like to make some other tweaks to this scene eventually (starting with that weird, lore inconsistency with his mom actually 😅) But between my 50 billion other projects, work, grad school, and the just. Extremely unfortunate lack of sleep I've been dealing with over the past...forever, I needed to make this a bit simpler instead. I didn't want to miss out on making something for the week!!

So, for all my fellow Wyllmancers, I give you this little gift.

This mod is currently just a couple very simple tweaks. It makes it so the camera no longer cuts away during his cuddle animation, but pans across the characters instead. And, as of the Patch 7, Hotfix 28 version of the mod, it adds an Aurora Borealis to the sky in the scene, and adds the original ending shot, the one where you're looking up at the stars together, back to the end of the scene. This is in addition to the extended cuddle shot!

The mod doesn't edit anything beyond that—I debated tweaking the cameras for his other final cinematic, but honestly I think he deserves some privacy after everything he's been through. Instead, the mod just gives you a closer view of cuddle animation! Which, again, have I mentioned is adorable?

...So adorable, in fact, that I may have gone a bit overboard with the screenshots. I refuse to apologize about this, though. Look how cute they all are omg... 💗💗💗

You can see the first demo video I made for the mod here!! However, this is for the Patch 6 version of the mod; I'll have to rerecord the scene to show what's new in the most recent version.




Supports all body types and races, like the original cinematic (really, all I changed was the camera, and added the Aurora VFX!!)

The mod overrides the Timeline and DialogsBinary files for Wyll's Act 3 Romance scene, which can be found at these file paths here:


//Data/Mods/GustavDev/Story/DialogsBinary/Camp/Camp_Relationship_Dialogs/CAMP_Wyll_CRD_Act3Romance_ROM.lsf

//Data/Public/GustavDev/Timeline/Generated/CAMP_Wyll_CRD_Act3Romance_ROM.lsf


It'll conflict with any mod that overrides these files, like other mods editing Wyll's Act 3 romance scene!


Installation:

I've provided both PAK file and loose file versions of this mod. Only install ONE version at a time!

Install the .PAK file via BG3 Mod Manager. It's an override, so it doesn't need to be in your load order, but you can add it if you'd like!

Install the loose files by dragging the Public and Mods folders in the .zip file into your BG3 Data folder, which can generally be found here:

\\SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\Baldurs Gate 3\Data\


Uninstallation:

Remove the .PAK file from your Mods folder completely in order to uninstall, or delete the loose files from the file paths listed above, depending on which version you're using.

This mod should be safe to uninstall mid-playthrough! Any changes made will revert once removed.

Future Plans:

Like I said, there are still a few other tweaks I'd like to make to this scene! Future plans include adding a line after his comment about his mother and the wishing magic, to fix the discrepancy with that line and his backstory. His mom canonically died when he was born, and I'd like to add a line where he mentions that was something his father told him about her.

I'd also like to tweak some of the facial expressions in the scene; sometimes the characters can pull pretty strange faces during the scene, and sometimes it's just, because the random emotion additives in the game are weird in general, but in some cases the expressions aren't quite appropriate regardless, imo.

And I want to tweak some of the mean responses you can give him, too!! It's genuinely so weird to me that some of the rude responses can still lead to the proposal. Wyll baby you deserve so much better...Don't let anyone talk to you like that :(((


So, yeah!! I've still got plans for this mod, so be on the lookout for those!!
