  • UBBI's 4.5.0.0 Update

It feels like I just released the previous version of Unnecessarily Beautiful But Immersive (UBBI) for Alpha 21. While I didn't expect to return so soon, it was brought to my attention that brightness during the nighttime in-game needed adjusted. Now, after a couple more weeks of hard work, I present UBBI 4.5, which brings a multitude of important changes and additions from adjusted visuals of all the items offered in UBBI to returning features and new items.

After many requests, I had finally decided to bring back a wildly supported feature. That's right, you can now cook, brew and make all assortments of food and beverages at various kitchen appliances. The appliances that are now functional include the Microwave, Oven, Stove, Stovetop, Coffee Maker and Toaster. While you can...

  • UBBI's 4.0.0.0 Update

Before I go into the update to Unnecessarily Beautiful But Immersive for Alpha 21, I want to first say how humbled I am to have received the resounding support over the last couple of years. When I first started working on rebuilding Unnecessary But Beautiful and rebranding the mod as Unnecessarily Beautiful But Immersive (UBBI for short) with Hernan's blessing, a lot of this was new to me.

I had always played games like Skyrim and Subnautica with mods, but I never once thought I could create them, but here I am. With the help of many modding community members, I was able to learn how to create XML code, use XPATH, use Unity and bring my vision of immersion to 7 Days to Die with items from a mod I grew to quickly enjoy and felt driven to improve.

    If I am being ho...

  • UBBI's 3.0.0.0 UPDATE

After taking a healthy break, I have now released the update for Unnecessarily Beautiful But Immersive for Alpha 20.3. Unlike previous editions of UBBI, my focus was not necessarily new content here, but instead compatibility and a better foundation for the future. Now, UBBI should be more compatible then ever with UI mods and other modlets. Moving forward it should become much easier as well to update the mod as needed with either tweaks or new content.

In the last iteration of UBBI, I had added workable kitchen appliances, a couple new fuel sources and unique UI elements. To make sure that UBBI was more compatible with SMX and other UI mods, I have now scrapped the ability to use the kitchen appliances alongside removing the new fuel sources like the "Shamway Spring" and the ...

  • UBBI's 2.0.0.0 Update

After a lot of hard work across weeks of coding, Unnecessarily Beautiful But Immersive's 2.0.0 update is finally out. Following previous updates that added features like using the wrench line of tools for disassembling blocks crafted by UBBI, appropriate repairing, HP balancing of items and more, I am now back with with an assortment of new features and tweaks from workable kitchen appliances, usable shower, new doors and other miscellanious additions.

There are now six workable kitchen appliances that work similarly to a campfire. Previously in UBBI, players can now use the Stove, Oven, Cooktop, Toaster, Coffee Maker and Microwave with their very own slightly unique sounds, a couple new icons, fuel requirements and even a new tool requirement for the toaster! To find the "S...

  • UBBI's 1.2.7.0 Update

After a well received public release of Unnecessarily Beautiful But Immersive, I felt like the launch of my first major mod was a success. With this in mind, I knew that in the coming weeks if not longer, I'd look for ways to improve. However, I was not anticipating releasing another update so soon. From a nudge of player RazorEye, I was inspired to take on a challenge of adding a new feature, but with that goal getting accomplished, a lot more came with it.

RazorEye pointed out that he was thrilled someone had taken up the challenge of updating Unnecessary But Beautiful and that he was quick to add it into his game. Despite his excitement, he noticed one immersive feature was missing that I missed and that was to make some of the craftable beds utilize the bedroll property so...

  • Unnecessarily Beautiful But Immersive: The Unnecessary But Beautiful Rebuild Journey

Originally wanting to add a Barista and a large TV, Hernan spent months designing code, textures, maps, 3D models and later compiling the files together to present a multitude of house buildables. Ranging from a variety of TVs, lamps, Kitchen appliances, cabinets and decorations to pool furniture, Bathroom amenities and beyond, he released Unnecessary But Beautiful on December 19th, 2019. With the help of modder Hellsmoke, a couple months later, a recipes file was created, which allowed players to finally craft these all items for themselves in February of 2020.

Ten months later, I was playing 7 Days to Die with my brother in-law, spending countless nights killing zombies, surviving and working on our base. After a couple of weeks, we began incorporating mods and that was when...

7D2D Mod Launcher Guide: Overhaul Instructions & UBBI 1.2.7 Install
Launcher Designed By Sphereii, Tutorial Created By Ztensity

After discovering 7 Days to Die last November, I quickly began diving into playing the game with mods. I first began discovering mods on Nexus, but over time I eventually learned about Guppy's Discord channel for 7 Days to Die here and Sphereii's 7D2D mod launcher here. After learning how to play with mods for 7 Days to Die through Nexus, the launcher and the 7 Days to Die forums here, I surprisingly began to create my own mods like the Creature Renaming series, my first major modlet Unnecessarily Beautiful But Immersive (UBBI) and just released modlets on the launcher titled Custom Perks UI Renaming and a standalone, alternate and ...
