It has always bothered me why Bethesda made the snow material shaders grey that make distant mountains and other snow covered items in the game look unrealistic. This mod fixes that so snow blends better throughout the world both up close and at distance.

See Images tab to also help you determine which version of the mod to download :-

  • Standard - a great match for most SSE and VR setups
  • Dim - for those with high contrast and bloomy ENB and/or Reshade presets
  • Brighter - to support users with dark snow textures
  • Brightest - by request, may suit dark and gloomy ENB and/or Reshade presets

Take this mod to the next level by using Remove Landscape Vertex Color by Jampi0n with Synthesis. Add it from the repository and run it in your next pass! - details on how to do this are on the mod page.  Be sure to endorse both Jampion's mod and mine please...

Before installing this mod, an easy quick check is to go into the World Map and if the mountains of High Hrothgar or Bleak Falls Barrow is an unnatural white/grey mess (see images) then this mod is for you.

You do not need or have to run LodGen, TexGen or DynDOLOD for this to work...it really is plug and play.

Just an ESP, no scripts, nothing funky...so if you decide to uninstall then no harm will come to your save files.

NOTE TO BDS3+ USERS
This mod is unnecessary as v3+ applies similar normalisation to the snow material shaders, albeit without Parallax support.

NOTE TO MAJESTIC MOUNTAINS USERS
Whilst the vanilla version of this mod will certainly help, you may find still some snow colours are not normalised.  Happy to help fix this although it would need to be on a case by case basis, DM me.
