Changelogs
Version 3.1.5a
- Script organization People reported crashing due to having weapons equipped and the dragon abilities staying on. Made adjustments that should reduce crashing. ***** Do not equip spells or weapons after transformation!
Body armor equips when transforming to humanoid form.
- Transformation effect should not stack so the script does not stack and cause problems.
Version 3.1.5
Improved flying: - Can use auto-run and elevate at the same time - Adds controller functionality for elevate key Fixes "tangled-feet" when choosing a scale other than normal MCM: Size returns to a slider from .5 scale to 1.5 Improved headtracking; aiming should be easier if this feature is enabled.
Version 3.1.4
- MCM option to redetect plugins if installed dragon mods are not detected by Burning Skies. (Official DLCs and Jills of Akatosh)
- Separated the transformation script into multithreaded chunks to reduce transformation script lag.
- Added translation support for mod (.esp and MCM menu).
Version 3.1.3c
Accidentally included experimental feature that caused problems with followers.
Version 3.1.3b
- Changing size would turn the player invisible upon transformation - Other stuff, I forget.
Version 3.1.3a
Jill transformations should work now! Sorry guys!
Version 3.1.3
New: - If you have the mod in your load order, Jill species from “Jills of Akatosh” (by AurianaValoria1) are available! - Dragon shout voices updated. - Impact data included when flying, landing and attacking.
Fixes: - Removed first-person models.
Version 3.1.2
New: - Dragon form has breathing sounds.
Improvements: - Small tweak to awkward magic visuals. - A complete BSA file for easy installation. - Removed unnecessary meshes packed into the files.
Fixes: - Skeletal skin properly replaces the regular skin. - Everyone will attack you now, even neutral dragons. Set relationship to ‘Friend’ or ‘Ally’ if you want non-hostile dragons.
Version 3.1.1
Compatibility: * Dragonborn and Dawnguard dragons added! You must own the DLC and use the MCM menu to be able to select new options, which will appear automatically.
If you use Frostfall and are a vampire, you will keep exposure immunity upon transformation.
Bugfixes: - Player turning tiny when choosing “Small” size due to an error on my part. - The animation for transforming into a dragon fails to play if the player did not have Dawnguard because it was a Dawnguard exclusive animation. - Voices are loose files because the game engine has major issues reading sound files within .bsa archives. - Erroneous maximum carry weights adjusted to reasonable values. - Camera should adjust upon reloading a save from separate gaming sessions.
MCM: * New: The dragon killmove “Bite Grapple” is restored! Set the percent chance within the MCM menu. - You will receive the Options Menu power if you do not have SkyUI. - Changed default roar key to [V] because once you come out of combat mode with [R] while flying you can’t get back into combat mode until you land again. - Fixes MCM warning you about unmapping. - Unmapped the Transformation Hotkey by default. You can still enable it by mapping it to a key, and unmap when you want to disable it. - You can set the size of your dragon form within the range of 0.5 to 1.5.
Improvements: - “Vokriihas” and “Spaanseven” spells changed slightly in terms of mechanics. - People should now become hostile to you upon transformation into a dragon, like a werewolf. Greybeards are still friendly. Forgot to mention in the previous update: You will not receive a bounty for crimes committed as a dragon. - Strafing should be less painful. - Transformation animations should sync better, and in dragon form you cannot go into 1st-person voluntarily because equipping a left/right hand spell and going into 1st-person would result in a CTD.
Version 3.1.0
Fan made version by Ceruulean New: - MCM menu for SkyUI v2+ users. - Added regular dragon species. - Optional: dragon voice for dragon shouts (uses Hakon and Gormlaith’s voices) - Optional: set friendly relations with NPC dragons in the MCM. - Camera zoom increased when you transform and reverts to normal afterwards. - Lore-friendly spell names.
Animation: - “Perch” and “Rest” : Press [Sneak] while grounded to rest (for roleplaying purposes), and while flying to perch. - “Bite” is now left click [Right hand attack]. - “Tail Smash” is now right click [Left hand attack]. - Bite and Tail Smash can be slightly aimed, depending on if player is moving left or right. - “Wing Bash” is double click [Dual attack], but only if player is moving towards the left or right. - Toggle speed by pressing Caps Lock [Toggle Always Run] - Transformation and landing animations (a few bugs), and takeoff includes sound.
Fixes: - Improved efficiency of hotkey scripting and more compatibility with game controllers. - “Up key”, “Down key” and “Roar” works for New Flying Method. - Weapons are unequipped right before transformation so you don’t lose charges for enchantments. - Typo fixes.
Balancing: - Dragon Form health increases as you level up, somewhat corresponding to dragon levels. - Fire and Frost shouts have tiers.
Version 3.0.2
still beta - added a dummyitem with all keywords asked by frostfall - created an aditional skeletonpath for this mod, compatibility patch for Dragonborn - Added a lesserpower to start/stop flying, which runs without SKSE, now SKSE in recomended but no longer essential.
Version 3.0.1
Balanced a bit. +50% Movementspeed +1150 health + 500 Magicka - spells now are needing Magicka
Version 3.0
* Highly improved stability and userfriendlyness
* Working collision (you wont fly through buildings, trees, mountains, etc. anymore)
By ElSte17 (Diabloblanco) and recoded by UbuntuFreakDragon Revisions by Ceruulean
You must have Skyrim Script Extender (SKSE Version 1.7.0 +) and own a legitimate copy of Skyrim. No complaints, it’s essential for the mod to work properly!
The MCM menu is optional, but to use it you need SkyUI.
Please backup your saves before installing this mod!
- Please follow all instructions for updating and uninstallation, found on this description page and in the Readme file. * The creators are not responsible for any save malfunctions caused by failure to read! > "Burning Skies" is a script-intensive mod! For optimal performance, limit the amount of scripted mods in your load order!
Any dragons added from these mods you can transform into!
Installation
Spoiler:
Show
Use a mod manager like Nexus Mod Manager if you have one. Manual installation is the same as for every mod: Drag and drop into your Skyrim directory, replacing the “Data” folder.
If you install manually, enable the mod by launching Skyrim via Steam, going to “Data Files” and checking the box next to Burning Skies.esp. However, always launch this mod using the SKSE Loader!
If you can’t access one of these methods, e.g. because Skyrim is running under Linux via wine, you would have to manually edit your plugins.txt - Win 7: C:UsersAppDataLocalSkyrimplugin.txt - XP: C:Documents and SettingsLocal SettingsApplicationsPlugin.txt - Linux: /home//.wine/dosdevices/C:/users//AppData/Local/Skyrim/plugin.txt (if running Skyrim with Wine compatibility to Win7 or else if the compatibility settings are for Win XP change to Win 7 or use the Win XP path)
You must make a clean save. Clean save instructions:
1. Load your save, transform back into normal form if you haven’t and wait a few seconds to let the scripts run to completion. 2. If you have the MCM menu, press "Uninstall" under the "Settings" page. If you don't, open the console (~ key) and type,
(for version 3.1.0 onwards) ----------------stopquest FDR
(for version 3.0.2 and below) ----------------stopquest blubquestinstalldragonmod
3. Wait a few minutes, then save your game in a NEW slot. Don’t overwrite an existing save. 4. Exit the game and deactivate the .esp file. 5. Return to that new save and let your game idle for a couple minutes. 6. Make another save in a new slot. 7. Delete the .esp and .bsa file, preferably using your mod manager to uninstall.
If you have done manual installation - ---------Go to "Sounds > Voice" and delete the folder named "Burning Skies.esp," this is where the shout voices are stored. AND IF you're uninstalling version 3.0.2 - ---------Go to "Data > Scripts" folder and remove
At this point you've uninstalled Burning Skies. You can now use the newest update, and please use the newest save from there.
