Better Cities IC Imperial Isle patch is now online!

Finally, this mod is compatible with the latest version of Better Cities - IC Imperial Isle.
You can download the patch from the "main files" section.
It fixes the conflict that caused visual glitches for Old Nadara's house and its surroundings.

BIG CREDITS to Vorians for supporting (and helping significantly in creating) the patch!

!!! End of support for this mod :'( !!!

    Dear all,

it's nice to know that people out there are still playing some of my mods :)

However, I am afraid that I can't support them any longer. Unfortunately, I am far away from oblivion today, and I don't even have a proper installation of the game anymore to reproduce new issues, incompatibilities etc. Even less will I be able to implement new features.

All of my mods (see list further below) haven't been updated for years now, and I've obviously missed multiple important updates to related mods, OBSE etc. So it's very likely that incompatibilities have accumulated to a pile which I cannot address any longer - at least not without giving up other things in my life.

This all means that I'll have to make that long-feared hard and sad step after all.

Creating all of this stuff and supporting an evolving it over years has been a fascinating, thrilling part of my (at least virtual) life, but I just have to move on nowadays.

I am very sorry about this - it took me a long thought to make that decision. :(

I encourage everyone to take the sources from my mods to try to adapt them to more recent developments! I am sure that there are hundreds of gifted modders out there who can do it in an instant or two ;-)

Thanks to everyone who has contributed in any form to this!! Take a look at the long list of credits!

I'll still try to keep in touch here the best I can. Maybe I'll even have my own "nostalgic Oblivion playthrough" from time to time. I'll always be glad about mor "Oblivion talk", but only as a player. I won't be able to be an active modder for TES IV any longer.

Kind regards (with a bit of crying),

STICKY NOTE - WHAT TO DO IF BOTHIEL WON'T TALK TO YOU!

Dear all, here's some hopefully good news after a very long time of silence...

There's been a long talk (for months and years) about a nasty little bug in my quest that happens sporadically and prevents certain players from talking to Bothiel as a key NPC at a certain quest stage.

    For anyone affected by this:
I have finally found the answer to this, thanks to patient help from a player named nekarisan.

The outcome is: Though, unfortunately, I will not be able to deliver a fix for it, there is a WORKAROUND using a plain and simple console command.
Simply follow the instructions given here in my walkthrough guide at chapter 9

You'll have to unfold the box labeled "Level 3: Tell me everything!" in order to see the fix!

Hope that this helps a lot of people!

STICKY NOTES - PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING!

    1. I've installed the quest, but it doesn't happen to start!
    a. Check the installation instructions.
    b. Install OBSE (in other words: double-read the installation instructions )
    c. If you believe that OBSE is correctly installed, but the quest still won't start, check out these two posts: post 1, post 2. Follow the instructions to verify that OBSE is correctly loaded.
    d. Check the walkthrough.

NOW, if (and only if! ) the problem still exists, send me a PM, confirming in it that you've followed steps a.-d. (otherwise I won't reply). Also note that PMs are more reliable than posting it here, for reasons stated under 3.

    2. Where do I find the armors shown in the screenshots?
They come from 2 different mods, both created by Andragorn:

    a. The one in the title poster by Nichi21 (worn by the bearded guy) is the "Heavy Sotonhorian Set" from Andragorns weapons and armors.
    b. The darker one worn by the red-eyed pale Dunmer guy in various of the screenshots is Andragorn's Shdw_Armor set_Sotonhorian (this one is my favorite).

I've linked both of them in the mod description.

    3. I've posted a question here, but you haven't replied for several days!
Mail notifications on new posts have never really worked reliably for me. So sending a PM is always better! I am not very frequently present here anymore, since the attention for this mod has significantly fallen with the release of Skyrim. But I am still here, generally. Just consider a delay of up to a week as normal.

    4. I've managed to get past an issue using console commands, but now I am stuck!
Yes, now you are stuck. Indeed. Never use console commands on your own. "Wild guessing" console tweaks without understanding a scripted quest is most likely to break the quest. It makes it impossible for me to help, so I'll simply refuse to do so. Go back to your latest savegame before the "tweaking", then properly reproduce the issue, then send me your report.

This mod looks incredible. I can't wait to try it!

The auto install wizard doesn't seem to function anymore as it fails to recognize the current OBSE version.

So I renamed the "core" folder "Data", then put that into a zip file, and dragged it into Wrye Bash, and installed it manually. Hopefully that works.

You can enable it in the .ini for the mod.

So the nightmare won't activate. I assume that this is the OBME glitch. I completely removed all OBME files and the nightmare still won't activate. The FMV plays, but I don't load into the cell. I just wake up at my bed.

Its been 10 years and I can't believe no one has fixed this. I have removed OBME entirely and it still does not work. I also don't use any mods that effect sleeping. I figured Basic Primary Needs may fall under this category, but I removed that and still have the same problem.

      Good news!

Blade of the Haunted Unofficial Patch by slowpard fixes this issue, and many others with this mod.

In case anybody else is having the same issue, renaming the mod's poison to literally anything else will break the quest when its supposed to be used. In my case, it was due to using Wrye Bash's sort potions feature. This is because the mod uses a string comparison of the poison's name and the poison on your weapon, and rather than dynamically grabbing the name of the poison from the game object, the mod just uses a stored static string variable. So if you use sort potions, be sure to use xedit to remove this mod's poison entry from the bashed patch. And you probably need to do so before you apply the poison. Alternatively, you can edit 'set BoT.essenceName to sv_construct "Essence of Dreaming"' in 'ini/BladeOfTheHaunted - compatibility.ini' to match what the poison has been renamed to.

I also ran into another bug where activating the wells in the nightmare resulted in a failure to cast message, possibly due to mod incompatibilities. Changing the spells to lesser powers didn't help. I suspect the issue may be that the script has the player cast the spell, and I was at -25 magicka in the nightmare.

I do not know if you ever are going to read this, but I really enjoyed playing this mod.
Just finished my playthrough and it is the second time I finished this quest (with a few years in between)
A little nice story but interesting setting. I would recommend this mod

Now you made my day! I've just stumbled back into nexus after many months of absence (mainly to look out for mods for another game), not expecting at the least to find any new comments related to my quite orphaned mod - and then I found this! Amazing to know that you still enjoyed it after such a long time (and btw - that it is apparenty still working for somebody, technically). Very nice of you to leave that footprint! Highly appreciate that.

bain installer failed to detect my obse for some reason, even though I am a steam user and I have xobse v2261

if anyone else encounters this: just unpack archive, open wizard text and remove the paragraph that checks your obse installation. repack, move archive back to Oblivion Mods\Bash Installers. done

Edit1: also, at the very end of installation process, wizard said it couldn't apply some changes to bladeofthehaunted.ini it was installing. i don't know what these changes are, but I'm going to find out. will try to play this as is with RRLL + UL and report back

I played this mod years ago and thought that it was an outstanding story. The down side is that it is buggy. I would strongly recommend saving a game prior to loading this mod and playing it. That way, you can revert to a safe save when you are done. Even with its problems, this mod is definitely worth a play in my opinion.

Unfortunately, I don't have any experience with Region Revive, and I won't find enough time to compatibility testing with other mods than those already supported. Sorry. Hopefully somebody else can tell you more.

Slight problem, I never ended up in this so called Nightmare realm? But that mage had topics about the blade and the other thing. I've slept in every hotel it seems in this game and I got nothing. I've changed my load order, OBSE is obviously running fine. What gives?

Just to be sure that it hasn't been missed - did you check the walkthrough, especially this chapter: https://www.coffiarts.com/oblivion/both/walkthrough/html/html_en/cp09.htm ?
