This mod updates and combines the wonderful Steel is all you need and Silver Sword for Specters mods to work with the Next-Gen version of Witcher 3

Steel is all you need:
What does this mod do?

Basically it makes foes with a silver health bar susceptible to steel so you can fight any creature with your steel swords making them more usable. Although silver swords will still deal more damage to these monsters, so there's still a use for silver.

Yes, you can now take on drowners, ghouls and Wild Hunt warriors with your steel sword, which is more lore-friendly in my opinion.

This mod was made to be an extention to  Steel is all you need or No Levels The issue with those mods is that there is very little reason, or insentive to use the steel sword, so while you can, you won't.

So to fix this, I wanted to give an incentive to use the steel sword, but I also didn't want to render the silver sword useless, but instead being a boon, something you'd pull out to use when the situation call for it(more akeen to the books). So what I settled on was to increase the durability cost of using the silver sword(accross the board) by a factor of 75(7.5% durability loss on each hit). This way, you will have to be a bit more carefull as to when and where to use the silver sword. Figthing a golem might not be the best of ideas with the silver sword, as it'll easily break mid fight.

However, a new issue arrises with this, in that you are less likely to want to use the silver sword(it breaking quickly), and instead maintain to use the steel sword, as such I've also boosted up the silver sword a bit to increase the damage it does against monsters(default a factor of 1.3). Specters are also made immune to steel, so you have to use a silver sword to fight them(however as in vanilla, they barely reduce durability of the silver sword). 
I do however not touch resistance, so creatures such as golems etc are very resistant against steel swords. Steel sword also do less damage than silver swords, so I have given steel swords a damage modifier(only applied against monsters \ silver-health).


Install with TW3MM, if you use other mods create a merged patch with Script Merger, and finally run Menu Filelist Updater to get the Silver Sword for Specters mod menu to function properly. This is a complete standalone mod and doesn't require any of the previous mod's files or requirements.

Disclaimer: I take no credit for creating either of these wonderful mods, I just updated them. Full credit goes to their respective creators. If/when those mods are officially updated I will take this unofficial version down.

Updates:
1.1: Updated default values in mod menu
1.2: Revamped "Swords don't hit enemies if broken" option. Now, while this is enabled, swords will scale their damage based on their durability, to a minimum of 10% damage output at 0% durability. Additionally, swords will now bounce off enemies while broken.
1.3: Weapons and armor now degrade 50% slower while you have the grindstone/workbench buff
1.4: Adjusted weapon durability damage penalty. Damage now starts reducing at 70% durability to a minimum of 30%
1.42: Fixed damage scaling issues caused by 4.04 (Thanks liulicheng for debugging this for me)
1.43: Silver weapons can now damage normal enemies, such as wolves and humans
