Features:
Swords and Armor will now get a buffed up charge that will degrade as your charges deplete.
This makes Grindstone and Workbenches more crucial to your survival, especially on Death March, combined with other difficulty mods.
Recommended Settings:
The number of charges equals the amount of buffs you receive
- Just the Story (Easy):
Workbench Charges = 10
Grindstone Bonus Ratio = 1/25
Workbench Bonus Ratio = 1/10
Give max buff of +20%/10%
Sign Charges = 10
- Sword and Story (Normal)
Workbench Charges = 25
Grindstone Bonus Ratio = 1/40
Workbench Bonus Ratio = 1/20
Give max buff of +25%/12.5%
Sign Charges = 15
- Blood and Broken Bones (Hard):
Workbench Charges = 50
Grindstone Bonus Ratio = 1/50
Workbench Bonus Ratio = 1/33
Give max buff of +30%/15%
Sign Charges = 20
- Death March (Insane): < Recommended difficulty
Workbench Charges = 100
Grindstone Bonus Ratio = 1/60
Workbench Bonus Ratio = 1/60
Give max buff of +33.33%/16.67%
Sign Charges = 25
How it works:
Grindstones: when sharpening your sword, you'll get a buffed attack power that will be based on your number of charges and will slowly get duller as you strike your foes and your number of charges deplete.
Workbenches: when enhancing your armor, you'll get a buffed defense power that will be based on your number of charges and your armor will get weaker as you take hits and your number of charges deplete.
Balancing:
The number of charges equals the amount of buffs you receive, the 'Recommended Settings' are from my testings to give players a starting point but feel free to experiment, just be sure to save your game before you crank those numbers up and use a grindstone or workbench otherwise you'll be stuck with those buffs until you deplete your charges, Example: start at 200 and move up by 10s.
To get the maximum buff calculation:
Charges / (Bonus Ratio * 10) = Buff%
Example:200 / (60 * 10) = 33.33%
Elemental, explosions and falling from heights are still deadly.
Installation:
You will need to install Buff Charges.
For easy Installation, use The Witcher 3 Mod Manager. This will install everything!!
For Manual Installation: (If you know how)
- Extract the mod in the game's directory, where there is four folders: Bin, DLC, Content and Mods.
- Use TW3 Menu Filelist Updater.
- Use Script Merger and merge all scripts.
