[Trial 1] I completed the steps and ran full.rebuild.bat. The game launched, but starting a new save just takes me to the regular intro quest with Yen in Kaer Morhen. Am I missing something to start the template project? Thanks!

Wow, you guys finally did something amazing. I mean until now we could only add new quests in Skyrim and Fallout but now in Witcher 3, imagine the possibilities. My question is are you guys thinking of making a similar tool for Cyberpunk 2077 since both are based on RedEngine.

Are the voices also radish or some other program? would be neat if the latter.

radish modding tools allows to add new voicelines into the game but the audio has to be recorded with other tools.

    Hey everyone
I have a few questions regarding Quest UI

    1) The mod seems not to be working properly inside buildings - when I create a layer while inside a building, everything gets dark and textures/walls/etc disappear, and I have to readjust the free cam in order to find a spot from where I can see stuff around. Is this a bug that only I encounter or is it supposed to be like this inside buildings and there's no way around it?

    2) When I insert a new area or entity they spawn somewhere beyond the line of my sight. I can determine this by the coordinates of the new entity if I have a properly inserted one. Then to place the second entity where I want to I need to adjust the coordinates manually. Is this a bug as well? Or maybe there is a default placement for entities?

    3) For some reason the created layers disappear after I quit Quest UI, unlike, for instance, shots in Questboard. Is it supposed to be like this? Is there no way to save the layers?

I think these question were already answered on the discord server. but for others that are not on the server (why not?) here some info:

      1. there is not much place in a building and the cam cannot automatically find a good place. unfortunately this is a limitation. best workaround is to start activate the mod outside of building and then position the cam as needed inside.

      2. the start placement is a heuristic which should place the entities/areas in front of the camera at the bottom. however if the camera is too high or the terrain height cannot be properly extracted the placement may be weird. another limitation.

      3. yes, quitting removes all entities as a cleanup. the intended workflow is to "minimize" radishui so it still running in the background and all placement of entities can be tested in-game. "maximizing" radishui brings up the menu and editing capabilities again. layers are only "saved" as a dump in the scriptlog and can/must be encoded as "real" layers for the game in a project. if not all the placement information is lost and will not be restored in next savegame load/game start.

Just want to say THANK YOU for making this resource. Whilst it is more than I could use (I've no experience at all in modding), I have seen a few fantastic things made with this. Your hard work in making this has meant that I can improve (from the work other modders have also made) upon what was already a fantastic game. Thank you, thank you.

There is a "Quests and Adventures" category on nexusmods. All quest mods made with radish modding tools I know of are in that category, too.

Am I correct in saying that I cannot install the tools properly when I do not have a fresh installed game? Meaning i already have my saves there and some mods. Thanks for reply. :)

I am not sure but I think the save should be fresh, not game. It would be better if you ask on Discord server then you will get answer quicker.

    Hello Guys,
Can anyone please provide a step by step installation of Radish tools? I have done modding using Modkitchen and Wolvenkit. Unfortunately, I am unable to install the Radish tools. I have followed trials of the Radish but I am getting lost. Any help is much appreciated. Thank you

Yes, it would be nice to see step by step tutorials. I only find this video but I do not know if it is good installation, however it seems to be working.

Hey guys, I created a step by step tutorial, at least for the most basic stuff :)
It can be found here: https://wiki.nexusmods.com/index.php/Radish_Trial_1_Installation_Step_By_Step_Guide

    Hi,
first of all.. Amazing work! Thank you so much for the opporunity to mod a "unmoddable" (at least in this amount) game :)
I have successfully installed all the tools and I'm now trying to trigger an area (wait until). Unfortunately this does not work..

I can guarantee (via Log Output) that my Mod is getting loaded as intended an when starting radish quest ui and I can see the area as well.
I also tried all kinds of heights ranging from 20 to -70 or so. I tried to use the "entered" Block, as well as the "inside" Block, but it makes no difference..

    My Layer-File:

    layers:
    maulbeertal_main:
    world: "novigrad"

    areas:
    areamaulbeertal:
    height: -15
    borderpoints:
    - [ 890.0507202148, 611.6640014648, 29.6933746338 ]
    - [ 918.1175537109, 592.6626586914, 29.6933746338 ]
    - [ 961.2871093750, 609.6994018555, 29.6933746338 ]
    - [ 954.3148803711, 578.9419555664, 29.6933746338 ]
    - [ 945.3372192383, 545.5952148438, 29.6933746338 ]
    - [ 914.5590209961, 531.7080078125, 29.6933746338 ]
    - [ 862.1412353516, 591.4700317383, 29.6933746338 ]

    My structure.root.yml:

    ---
    structure:
    quest:
    blocks:
    start:
    ".editor": [ 70.0, 156.0 ]
    next:
    - script.logStart
    - waituntil.triggerAreaMaulbeertal

    waituntil.triggerAreaMaulbeertal:
    inside: [ novigrad/areamaulbeertal, PLAYER ]
    ".editor":
    pos: [ 264.0, 156.0 ]
    in: [ In ]
    out: [ Out ]
    next:
    - script.logMaulbeertal

    script.logMaulbeertal:
    ".editor":
    pos: [ 476.633605957, 156.7081756592 ]
    in: [ In ]
    out: [ Out ]
    function: radLog
    parameter:
    - logChannel: cname_BLAVIKEN
    - msg: Maulbeertal
    next:
    - end

    script.logStart:
    ".editor":
    pos: [ 181.4761962891, 249.4761962891 ]
    in: [ In ]
    out: [ Out ]
    function: radLog
    parameter:
    - logChannel: cname_BLAVIKEN
    - msg: Mod gestartet!
    next: ".done"

    end:
    ".editor": [ 662.3296508789, 157.0879211426 ]
    next: ".done"

I really hope you can give a hint on where my mistake is..

Thanks a lot in advance :)
    Alex

Edit: Maulbeertal is German for Mulbrydale ^^

I am in a hurry but here are some things you might want to check:

      - from a short peek at the definition I'd say the graph looks ok
      - negative area heights will never work. the important part is that the area bottom is moved slightly below ground or the trigger won't work
      - check the logs if there are no errors. even if parts of the quest seem to work there may be sporadic problems if there were any errors in the build (especially wcc cooking)
      - if the "Mod gestartet!" msg is not appearing in the game the savegame may be already tainted with a previous attempt. in any case trying a fresh savegame still may be worth to try

you might also join the discord server to get some help/tips from others more quickly. have fun.

      Hi rmemr,

thank you so much for your help and support! Points 3 and 4 were not the case.. I always used a fresh save and the "Mod gestartet!" msg showed up perfectly.

BUT, the second point nailed it.. I just was a bit stupid and messed up with height and the z-coordinates :,D Of course, I edited the heigth and expected the hole thing to go up or down.. I know, rediculous ^^

      It works perfectly now!

Another Point: Because of Corona right now (work from home and university via Micr. Teams) I have a lot more freetime and I am very motivated to contribute to this amazing project, you are building up here. Therefor, after I completed the remaining trials and if I'm still motivated enough I would love to join the discord regularly and more importantly write some more in-depth tutorials (maybe posts or uncommented youtube-vids) for example for installing this hole thing, cause it's quite hard without a tutorial (and im studying IT ^^) and more.

My longterm hope would be to raise the awareness and lower the barrier, you have to overcome, to create a (big) w3 mod.
Maybe in some years we will have at least a fracture of motivated modders, as for example Skyrim has!

Thanks so much and I hope we stay in contact! :)

I ported the articles to the nexusmods wiki so they can also be easily extended by others. when I have the time I will remove the current articles and point to the wiki pages.
